What are safe promotion techniques for articles targeting low competition keywords on a high authority site?

Hi SEO Community,
The title says it all; we are running a content strategy that is targeting relevant low volume, low competition keywords published on a high authority domain.
How would you design your promotion / reachout / linkbuilding / strategy in this context?
Would you assume internal linking would do the job or are there easy wins to earn rankings in this low competition environment?

Hi there,
While I do encourage adding internal links where it makes sense, you will also want to amplify, promote and share this content in social media, with relevant industry sites and with industry influencers. The more sites that pick up/share your resource and the more back links it acquires, the better off it is going to perform in organic search. Here are a few resources for amplifying your content:

What is the best keyword ranking tool you have used? I have used various tools by which I am expected to identify and input the keyword I want to track... However, recently I was introduced to Searchmetrics, which I think automatically pulls in the keywords a website ranks for, without the need for manual input from the SEO (I haven't used this tool yet, so apologies if I am incorrect!). Swapping page keyword?

Does Automated High Quality Content Look Like Low Quality to Search Engines?
I have 1,000+ pages that all have very similar writing, but different results.

Nr of days on market
Average sales price
Median sales price
etc etc etc All the results are very different for each neighborhood. However, as per the above, the wording is similar. The content is very valuable to users. However, I am concerned search engines may see it as low quality content, as wording is identical across all these pages (except the results). Any view on this? Any examples to back up such views?0 -
Keyword Spy Source?
We've got a few backlinks from Keyword Spy and Keyword Spy Pro. I'm pretty sure of the answer but I'll ask it anyway. Is there any way to determine who's doing the snooping? Are there any signals to look for while clicking back through the link "crumbs" that might tell me something of interest or value?

Create different pages with keyword variations VS. Add keyword variations in 1 page
For searches involving keywords like "lessons", "courses", "classes" I see frequently pages in the top rankings which do not contain the search term in the title tag, despite these terms being quite competitive. It seems that when searching for "classes", google detects that pages about "courses" may be just as relevant. What do you recommend? option 1: creating 10 pages optimized on 10 different keyword variations, each with a significant part of unique content or option 2: one page and dropping throughout the page 10 keyword variations in body and headlines Given that keywords are all synonyms and website has already high domain authority in the niche. thanks

How to Target Multiple Keywords in Single Page
Hey There, We're planning to target multiple keywords in a single page.. they keywords are definitely related and to an extent could be considered as synonyms.. We have a few questions as to how to optimize the page for on page and off page. On Page Do we mention all the targeted keywords on the page? At a maximum we could mention the keywords once..of course want to give out relevant and quality content and do not want to focus on keyword density How do we optimize the URL structure? For ex... We have keywords aa, ab and ac, where a is the base keyword Is it a good option to to have a URL structure like http://www.example.com/a-b-c.html? How do we go about mentioning the targeted keywords in meta description.. We've read the articles at SEOMoz.. but would want opinions What about HI, H2 and H3 Tags? how do we go about optimizing these Off Page While using off page we will of course vary our anchor text with the multiple keywords... this will make it look natural. Will we manage to rank for the multiple keywords (if we vary anchor text) that we're targeting if our backlinking method are strong? Thank you all for your inputs and responses...

Keyword Significance
I am seeing some very interesting changes in our non-branded keywords, and am curious to know how keyword significance in Google Webmaster Tools plays into ranking of a site. Say for example we are a photography website selling photography supplies. At one point our most significant word was Canon, but now it is photography. Would that mean that we would start seeing a lot of non-branded keywords generating from Google like "camera strap", "camera lens hood", etc. This is really good for us, but curious to know if the only reason we are seeing this is the shift in our keyword significance. How to get a news article / post to show up in a google trend for your keyword?
Does anyone know how google selects the news articles it displays in google trends? EX: http://www.google.com/trends?q=glitch+hop%2C+dubstep&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0 See how dubstep has a couple posts that show up when searched in google trends? these are different than regular SERPS as far as i can tell. Does anyone know how google selects them?
