Incorrect domain authority result on SEO tool bar and OSE
-
The SEO tool bar is returning what I believe to be an incorrect domain authority of 71 and showing 24,356,141 lins from 153,051 domains.
The OSE is also returning 71 as domain authority.
Anyone know what could be doing this?
Thanks.
Jason

Yeah, it probably will continue to give you skewed results in any of these kinds of tools, not really a way around it that I can think of.
I guess you'll need to put more credence into page authority metrics rather than full domain authority when working out a strategy.

Thanks for looking in to this guys.
I just thout uk.com was another tld - albeit an unpopular one - and I had no idea this sort of sub domain existed.
Wil lthis continue to affect all of the tools in SEOMoz?
-
UK.com provides subdomains, so there is a lot going on there - site:uk.com
It's a bit weird the way OSE counts linking root domains to the domain:
- A query for UK.com in OSE will return the linking RD only to pages on UK.com
- A query for www.UK.com will go deeper
- And finally a query for www.subdomain.UK.com returns the actual amount of linking RD to all the pages within that level of subdomains on UK.com.
At least that's how I think it works
-
Hmm, I wonder how the OSE calculates these sort of subdomains then in terms of DA.
Although, I can't get anywhere near the same number of links to show up in OSE. I get 24M links from 39 domains (that's 39 for uk.com, 20 for the site you linked to, although maybe that's for the awards pages only and the www is different again with 459 domains.).
What page is giving you the 153,000 linking domains?
-
I think it looks pretty OK.
I guess UK.com is a pretty popular website and that's the data you're getting.
-
Yes Barry I'm sure it's wrong for the reasons you state.
-
Why do you think that's wrong?
Is your PR 8+? I know you have about twice as many linking domains than Wikipedia (according to OSE) but that's not all that contributes to authority
-
Could you give us the URL where this is happening?

SEO Yoast data export
Just thought I would give something back. (Is this the right place!) I use Wordpress with the excellent SEO Yoast plugin. I needed a way of extracting the focus keywords that I have entered onto my pages along with the url for use on the SEOmoz On-page Optimisation tool. So I created GetYoastData which outputs to the browser the required data (and a bit more) that can be saved into an csv (Excel) file. Hope you find it useful - Yes it's not polished and yes it might output a blank line now and again but it's fairly useful. http://deanandrews.uk/get-yoast-seo-data/

Hey from a New guy to SEO
Hi everybody!!! Hope everybody is dandy. Have spent a long time looking into SEOmoz and decided to just take the plunge and see what happens. Im quite new to the world of SEO but I really want to get good at it. Hoping Moz and this community will aid with this! Currently in the process of reading the SEO beginners guide and the SEOmoz user guide! The two sites that I am currently working on are: 1. www.advanced-incar.co.uk 2. www.advanced-incarcamerasystems.com The first site seems to have crawled well and have entered my competitors and am getting some info back (looks like I have a lot of work to do judging by the errors D'oh) In the world of Google what is the best way to ensure you have authority on certain terms. For instance if I search advanced-incar we are top and we have all our sitelinks underneath etc etc, but when I search advanced incar we are second and as such we don't display sitelinks. Any ideas? The second site was built using 1&1 and gives us a good little site for what we need. I have found out through research the most popular keywords are in car camera & in car cameras. Currently Im using Adwords to get us sponsored hits which is getting us some nice traffic but costing a bit. Those are the two main keywords i want this site to really hit home with. Any advice? Also on this site, when I go to SEOmoz and select Link Analysis I get no info. It just shows 0 or 0.0 wheras my competitor sites all have values against them. Is something wrong with my site or what im doing? (Have added an example screenshot) I appreciate its a long ended question but would really appreciate some help. Hoping that the guides will help me understand all this linkjuice stuff etc as well! Thanks guys, really appreciative of any info you can provide. Campaigns - domains / sub domains
Dear SEOmoz folk, At the moment, I have one (rather large) site set up as a campain. I have decided to split off parts of my site into sub domains. My question is, can I set up these sub domains as a completely separate campaign on here? I'd very much like the crawl reports separated out for each one. A very real fear I have is that my site is well over double 10,000 pages, so I never truly see the actual number of errors that I have. Thoughts appreciated. Many thanks, Matt

Competitive Domain Analysis Question
When looking at the Competitive Domain Analysis I noticed that I am the only one amongst my competitors that does not have a link from DMOZ. The problem is, I do have a link from them. When you search for my site on dmoz.org you can find my site and it has been that way for quite a while. Anyone know any possible reasons it may be doing this?

SEOMOZ tools are not helping!
So, I have a website www.mobikwik.com which provides mobile phone topup in India. I signed up for SEOMOZ Pro membership a little less than a month ago. For all our competitors , which rank above us in google as of today , I checked out two things a) competitive link analysis and b) on-page optimization. On b) , our home page had the best optimization for targeted keywords and the best score amongst all competitors who ranked above us. On a) , linkscape tools showed our moztrust and mozrank to be the best. Except for 2 competitors, our domain authority was also better than the rest. Inspite of all this, our website is ranked no more than 6 on google for all targeted keywords. We have the best quality links amongst our competitors. I am at a loss to understand this and how to improve our ranking. I have to make a decision whether to renew my SEOMOZ membership in 2 days time. Please help me decide!
