How to deal with hundreds of externally-generated images with no alt text?
-
Hi all
This is a good one. I work for a webdev company who has clients in the transport industry. Part of our work on their sites involves pulling in transport-related offers from a feed. This includes both text and images, which our site template turns into viewable pages.
The problem is that Moz has flagged that these images don't come with alt text, and there are _hundreds and hundreds of them. _I can't add alt text to them all, there just isn't the time or resources. Besides, the list is updated frequently, and new images are pulled in.
So... what do? Would it be prudent to noindex them all by default setting? I'm stuck!
Many thanks,

So as I understand you have some <iframe>Tag in your code, this iframe generates some images and those images do not have any "alt text"</p> <p>A simple solution for that is to use a script (javascript) who can insert dynamically a static "alt text"</p> <p>Example<br />create a script with the condition of inserts<br />alt="promotion of the day" on every image inside of every iframe, or id.</p> <ul> <li><strong>BEFORE</strong> <img src="truck-promotion.jpg" alt=""></li> <li><strong>AFTER </strong><img src="truck-promotion.jpg" alt="promotion of the day"></li> </ul> <p>A specialist on js can get the job done in a couple of hours.</p> <div class="description"><strong>IF THIS ANSWER WERE USEFUL MARK IT AS A GOOD ANSWER :-)</strong></div></iframe>

H1 text and Header Image Overlap?
I have images with text at the top of every page on my site. But no H1 or H tags at all. I would like the text on the image to be my H1 text. But I don't want to be repetitive. What should I do?

Horrible ranking for hundreds of content pages
We have hundreds of pages of restaurant reviews (each is 100% original content) on our site (for example, here is a list of many of the content pages: https://www.rewards21.com/articles). The PA of almost every page is 1 (ouch). Doing even the most long-tail Google search doesn't bring up one of those pages (even if I include our company name in the search string). I'm certain we have lots of room to improve SEO, but not even seeing the pages come up for even the most long-tail search has me concerned... Our site used to be on Wordpress many months ago and many of these pages ranked fine..ever since switching away from Wordpress, we've not made any SEO progress. Am wondering if something major is "broken" with our site SEO...

Anchor text in Ecommerce site without relevant pages
I'm posting articles to my e-commerce site and just wondering about the anchor text links within the posts. I don't have relevant static pages but the items do come up in a search query. For example i don't have a specific page for red wine but if a user searched for red wine it would give a search query URL. Should I use that search URL query as my anchor text?

How would you deal with eCommerce sorts?
I am reviewing a website that has different activities, and there are many ways to sort them. The issue is that the website is essentially displaying the same information, but in different sorts. Take a look at this search page: http://www.kijubi.com/AC-Fishing You are looking for fishing trips here, but you can sort it by city, region, and category. I have decided to "no index" some of these sorts, but I am afraid they might be picking up some long tail traffic on the city and region sorts. For example, "newport beach fishing trips", something like that. Any suggestions on how to deal with removing all of these duplicate sorts, while still maintaining the traffic that may be received by sorting with some long tail terms?
