High or low volume keyword

Does it take longer to rank on high volume versus a low volume keyword ?
if so why
Thank you,

Moz Bar has a Keyword Difficulty tool that generates right on your SERP - if you don't have Moz Bar downloaded, I would highly recommend!

If keyword Difficulty metric is my helper based on your experience do you have an idea of timing...
Based on my experience I have noticed that when the keyword difficulty is around 15 to 20 it takes about a week to 2 weeks to see some changes.
However, when the keyword difficulty is high like in the 45 to 55 range, do you know how long it can take ?
I have heard that for keyword difficulty of a 100 like on the keyword seo, it can take up to 2 years.

My gauge for this is to visit the SERPs and see WHO is ranking on the first page. The number competing and the volume matters a lot less than who is competing and what type of content has earned them these rankings. If I think that I can compete with their content then I attack - it does not matter the number competing or any other metric - if you have a good site and can defeat their content then you can probably attract enough links to become competitive over time.
I think about it like this... Do not fear competition, because where there is competition there is probably also a lot of traffic and a lot of money changing hands. You can often make decent money from long tail keywords on the edges of the fight and if you can break onto the first page of the SERPs there is likely a good payday.

It's a matter of competition, not volume.
High volume keywords have high competition.
Low volume keywords don't necessarily have low competition e.g: keywords like mesothelioma compensation will be hard to rank for despite relatively low search volume. It takes longer to rank for a keyword where competition is higher. Keyword Difficulty metric is your helper here.

Strong Site, Pages, Ranking Low
Hey Mozers This is a question which has been bugging me for a while now I have an authority site in my niche which has a stronger DA than pretty well every competitor, but certain sections of the site underperform. For instance, when you search for 'Jerusalem Dead Sea tour', my item, http://www.touristisrael.com/tours/jerusalem-dead-sea-day-tour/ does not appear in the first few pages. I have a page that appears on the first page, but it is less relevant than this product page. This is an example, there are tens of cases like this. So the question is, am I signalling to Google not to rank these pages, and is there something I'm missing with regards to strengthening product pages in this tour section? Thanks

Monthly Searches from Google Keyword Planner
I've used Google Adwords, Google Analytics and competitors keywords to compile a master list. I'm now looking to evaluate metrics on the keywords / phrases / long tail phrases. My question is this ... Based on Googles use of Geo Targeting, would I be better to evaluate metrics (Avg. Monthly Searches, Competition, Avg CPC) based on United Kingdom or my local city (I only operate in my local city). I am looking to use the results to redesign my website. I will use the favorable keywords / phrases / long tail keywords to implement a new menu, new content page creation, articles, etc. Thanks Mark

Owning all of the top 10 positions for one keyword
Hello, I would like to know if it is considered bad by Google to rank every single spot in the top 10 with the same keyword? All websites conver the same topic which this keyword, but have unique content. Those websites dont link to one another. To be clear, I am not asking if it is a good idea because it will be harder to rank, find links etc. or because the last positions don't bring enough traffic. I really just would like to know if it against Google guidelines? Any thoughts or sources are greatly appreciated.

What keywords should my main page contain ?
Hello. I have a domain with scripts and components for websites, each product page is somehow different and contains different phrases and keywords, for example: a) Flash Photo Gallery
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | adrianTNT
b) JavaScript Menu
c) Flash Menu
d) PHP Rating Script
e) PHP Poll script It's kind of clear for me how to optimize keywords on these pages individually, but what would be best content / terms / keywords to use on my main page and main page title and anchor text to my root domain? Should it be a mix of all these keywords mentioned above ? Or is it better to be a general term like "website scripts" ?0 -

Cannot Identify Self Cannabilizing Keyword Anchor
I am struggling to locate on our website www.towelsrus.co.uk a self cannibalizing keyword. Can anyone help? http://www.towelsrus.co.uk/Bath-Linen-Bath-Pillows/Aztex/Luxury-Bath-Pillows-With-Suction-Cups-4-Embroidered-Designs_ct463bd182pd2818.htm void Keyword Self-Cannibalization Easy fix <dl> <dt>Cannibalizing link</dt> <dd>"Luxury Bath Pillows With Suction Cups, 4 Embroidered Designs"</dd> <dt>Explanation</dt> <dd>It's a best practice in SEO to target each keyword with a single page on your site (sometimes two if you've already achieved high rankings and are seeking a second, indented listing). To prevent engines from potentially seeing a signal that this page is not the intended ranking target and creating additional competition for your page, we suggest staying away from linking internally to another page with the target keyword(s) as the exact anchor text. Note that using modified versions is sometimes fine (for example, if this page targeted the word 'elephants', using 'baby elephants' in anchor text would be just fine).</dd> <dt>Recommendation</dt> <dd>Unless there is intent to rank multiple pages for the target keyword, it may be wise to modify the anchor text of this link so it is not an exact match.</dd> </dl>
