Written a great guest post for another site. Can I post it on my own blog too?
-
So I've written this beautiful guest post for a site who've quite frankly done a bad job of promoting it and I'm a little disappointed.
So I'm thinking:
a) I could send it around to some other publishers and see if they want it. What would be the duplicate content problems here if any?
b) Why not just publish it on my own site and promote it to other blogs and the world in the normal way.
c) Is this just wrong and if I say I'm going to write for someone then I write for them and if they make a mess of it that's my problem and I should be more selective about who I give my talents away to in the future.
Thanks in advance. I am fairly new to outreach and all the internet searching on this topic is returning stuff about 'allowing other people to post guest blogs on your site' which is not helpful. Rank Brain eh? Supposed to be smart. But it's really not.

Thanks, this is a great strategy. I'm thinking chopping the article up and repurposing it for different audiences is the way forward.

Yes thanks for this. It doesn't seem really honest and like the right thing to do. And I was kind of expecting people to be like, 'no don't worry, just do it nobody cares' - but it's clearly from what you say, not the right strategy under these circumstances. What happens if you make a piece of content for outreach and send it to two or more publishers and two of them like it and want to publish it? That's another tricky one i've found myself in. I thought just be honest and say both are interested and let them fight over the content. All I want is a link at the end of the day.
I'm writing about dental practice success but I'm doing it to improve my SEO position not to get clients or start an agency. So it's a funny one really. I just want more DA from links so I can rank locally and help my dentists get more patents.

In my opinion ( base on my experience ) the best way to make it is to create an article for a blog with a very specific topic, and the create another article for your own blog with a very close topic.
Example you can create an article of "how to make money online" for your own blog and then create 10 articles of how to do it using, (then you make outreach)
- Youtube
- Dropshipping
- Udemy
- Affiliate
- Social Media
- Adsense
And link those articles to your blog post
Note: this is just an Idea hope it will help you.

The general rule of thumb here, is don't do it. If you have written something for another blog, leave it there and move on to the next.
However, I would see no major problem if you wanted to re-purpose it. Change about 30% of the content and you could seed it out again.
Probably best not to make a habit of doing this anyway - My personal preference is to try and keep everything unique for a much cleaner read.

4 Things to Ask When Looking to Hired Peoples for Guest Blog with High P.A.
I want to hire a contractor on eLance to built back links using guest blogs For the guest blog submits, those are the things a will ask: a post where I can comment with a Page Authority of 20 or more a blog where I can post has guest, where I don't have to create a account - a blog that accept comments and have comments in the post - the post page suggest must be pretty new, not more then 6 months old Do I forget something? Do you have any comments on this or anythings I should know before posting this job? Thank you, BigBlaze

Content Strategy - High Value on Lots of Sites vs. High Value on One Site
Good afternoon Mozzers. I have a discussion based question and I'd be interested to know your thoughts. I currently implement a content strategy where we create a series of high value How-to written articles, relevant to our audience and then work at getting them placed on multiple high value websites. I have just been offered an opportunity with a PR6 domain to create a similar series of content but place it all on their site with links back to ours through a dedicated section. So my question is would I gain more value from small amounts of great content in lots of places vs. a lot of great content in on place? Effectively 1 link from 20 sites vs. 20 links from 1 site.

Guest Blog Etiquette & Re-using "Expired" Content
Hi everyone, There's two parts to this Q, which is why the title's sort of split in half. We wrote a guest blog post that we were really proud of, which took a good few hours of work. It went live about a month ago, but I just happened to notice recently that it had disappeared off the person's website - I now get a 404 error and I can't find it either using a 'site:' search in Google or via the site's own search tool. I've tried getting in touch with the webmaster, but he's no longer responding to my emails. I really don't know if a) it disappeared by accident (for whatever reason), or b) they purposefully wanted to remove it and now they're avoiding me. My two Q's: Do you think it's cheeky to re-use the content, by giving it to someone else? Or would you say it goes against guest blogging etiquette? It seems a shame to waste it, for it to disappear. If I were to re-use it, would there be any implications regarding Panda, given the fact that it was content that was once live (i.e. effectively 'duplicate', once upon a time), even if the 'original' content is no longer indexed by Google? Would it even be considered a duplicate if published again now? Many thanks in advance!

Safe to link to another site you own?
Hi mozzers, I have some external links on a resource page on my established site. I have a new site in the same niche with content that if linked to, would improve the resource page. If I linked to it using branded anchor text, would it be safe? My thoughts are yes...as long as it adds value and isnt keyword anchored. The sites are on different C class IPs Would welcome some thoughts Peter

How to Outsource Guest Blog Posts?
We have operated a small ecommerce company for over 10 years in the home and garden industry. Our product niche is small and there is not a lot of "community" around it as it is just not a social product, yet the product is interesting. Our internal time is very limited and therefore we have hired external help over the years to do our SEO. As you all know, this is very challenging to do affordably and not get spammers. As part of our SEO strategy we would like to do some guest blog posts but do not have the internal time to research and build the relationships needed. We basically have no internal writing skills and have always hired writers to do our blog postings. My question is if you had to hire someone to do guest blog posts how would you go about finding the right person to use? Of course an excellent writer would be required. What would you expect to pay for this type of service? Would you do it hourly or "pay per live post". Any ideas on where to find this type of person? Thanks.

Linking strategy between my own sites
Hi, I have one main site, let's call it food.com I also have 10 smaller sites, let's call them mexicanfood.com, indianfood.com, italianfood.com etc food.com is on its own separate dedicated server the 10 smaller sites are all on a shared IP in hostgator I don't want Google to think that I have created the 10 sites for only purpose of creating links to each other. So, would you recommend that all those 10 sites link to each other? or should there be no interlinking within those 10 same IP domains? What about linking from those 10 sites to my main site? How should I structure my own backlinks not to get penalized by Google ?
