Loss of search visibility-consecutive drops in one month - something I did or competitors?
-
I am fairly new to Moz. I co-manage a national website with about 400 common pages and separate location areas for cities in Australia. 1 city starting their own separate website a year ago. A drop in search visibility of the whole national site and my location page started in mid July according to Moz stats.- 8%>12%>$38% consecutive drops per week. In google analytics the organic search has dropped 8% overall & 2% on my location page in last month.
I did minor optimisation to the my page and articles using Moz in July - upped H2 to H1 title, tweaked main keyword, wrote slightly different SEO title and included keywords in body copy. The rankings of the target keywords went up but other keyword rankings went down. The other thing that started in June was Facebook advertising of our blog articles (click-throughs have a high bounce rate of 95%). The office with its own website (with a similar brand name) also started doing Facebook advertising and SEO for it earlier this year. I can see their own website traffic really shot up in June/July, and they also maintained their traffic on the national site. Wondering if any of these are causing the drop, or if this is more an indicator of competitor activity or alogorthms? Any ideas about causes and solutions appreciated.

Hi Jordan, Thanks for your response. Moz has flagged 5 pages with duplicate content, 2 new which I have redirected. When I look at the others, they aren't actually duplicated eg "Careers" has 141 "associated" pages but none of them are actually similar eg "subscribe to our newsletter". Re speed, I ran a report which says it is slightly under par - all content loads in 6 secs, all scripts load in 16. Any further thoughts appreciated.

I believe the on page content could be causing an issue. If these 400 pages have similar content then that could be the issue.
However, in July there were some algorithm updates from Google but these appear to be mostly centered around Mobile Speed Updates. But if you have a mobile site with reasonable load times you should be fine.
But, what I'd want to know is how unique is the content on those 400 pages?

Issues With Search Results
Hello All, I am currently having issues with the following website: http://universityforddurham.com/None of the vehicles the site has in inventory are not showing up organically.Example:2016 Ford Fusion in Durham, NChttps://www.google.com/?ion=1&espv=2#q=2016+Ford+Fusion+Durham%2C+NCThe results page pulls University Ford North, which is another dealership we work with and has no issues showing up organically. Both of these websites were built around the same time, but the Durham store receives more traffic. If I perform a Google Search for VIN numbers, such as 3FA6P0SU0GR121259 the first page of search results are for the vehicle by all the dealerships in the Auto Group, except for the dealership that actually has the vehicle.I am wondering if the vehicles are not being indexed by Google. When I perform similar searches in Bing, the proper results are populating.Any suggestions or help would be great.Thank you!

Virtual Offices & Google Search
United Kingdom We have a client who works from home and wants a virtual office so his clients do not know where he lives. Can a virtual office address be used on his business website pages & contact pages, in title tags and descriptions as well as Google places. The virtual office is manned at all times and phone calls will be directed to the client, the virtual office company say effectively it is a registered business address. Look forward to any helpful responses.

I have 5 sites each targeting a different service my company offers, should I consolidate to one site or merge to one?
I run a photo booth company and have a site for each service I offer. Are smaller sites that are SEO for each service stronger than just having pages for each service on one mother site?thanks,

Localized Search Results
I'll try to setup this question: I go to Google.com and set the search tools to a particular city that I am not in (say I live in Nashville but set the search tools for Rockville MD). I do a search for a specific term without a location modifier such as "chrysler town and country" and I don't see the website I'm looking for in the first 100 results. Then I keep the search tools the same, but change the specific search to "chrysler town and country rockville md" and the website I'm looking for is now the #1 result. What would affect the difference? I would have expected the website to have a similar ranking in both situations.

Why a site just dropped out of ranks
I have a site i am working on link It was ranking fairly well and then I added content to the homepage to better optimize it for the keywords it was already ranking for. Ever since I did that the entire site is no longer ranking well. Thoughts?
