Url's don't want to show up in google. Please help?
-
Hi Mozfans
I'm doing a sitescan for a new client. http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/
It's a dutch jobsite.
Now the problem is here: The url http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/vacatures/ is in google.
On the same page there are jobs (scroll down) with a followed link.
To a url like this: http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/vacatures/722/productie+medewerker+paprika+teelt/The problem is that the second url don't show up in google. When i try to make a sitemap with Gsitecrawler the second url isn't in de sitemap.. :S
What am i doing wrong?
Thanks!

This is a basic configuration issue. I would advise you to contact your sitemap software vendor or whomever wrote the code. You need your sitemap software to view the "www' version of the site as those are the pages which display the links.

Thanks for your reply.
I'm just doing a scan, so this wil helpthe non-www and www issue i will let the client know.
I think it is a Ajax issue: http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/xmlhttp/vacatures/ this feed is installed with ajax

Your current sitemap can be seen here: http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/sitemap.xml
There are dates as recent as today in the sitemap. I did a search of the sitemap for "medewerker" which is part of the URL in the example you shared. There is a link with that term, but it is not the same link. There is clearly an issue with the configuration of your sitemap software.
A possible cause of the issue is your site is set up as both the "www" and non-www version. The pages on the two versions are not identical.
http://vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/vacatures/
If you look at this version of the URL you shared, the same page appears except it does not contain all the links at the bottom. Perhaps you configured your sitemap to view the non-www version of your site which does not show those extra links.

I found that the jobs are in some kind of xml feed:
http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/xmlhttp/vacatures/
How do i resolve this?

What could cause Google to not honor canonical URLs?
I have a strange situation on a website, when I do a Google query of site:example.com all the top indexed results appear to be queries that users can perform on the website. So any random term the user searches for on the website for some reason is causing the search result page to get indexed - like example.com/search/query/random-keywords However, the search results page has a canonical tag on it that points to example.com/search, but that doesn't seem to be doing anything. Any thoughts or ideas why this could be happening?

Why don't sites using Drupal have keywords
Why don't the vast majority of sites using Drupal list keywords in the head section? Is there another convention used in Drupal that serves the same purpose for SEO? I noticed most of the Drupal info pages about keywords seem to drop off around 2010

Conversion of URL's for Readability
Reading over Rands latest Post about URL structure I had a quick question about the best way to convert URL's that don't have perfect URL structure... Current the Structure of our E-commerce store has a structure that is not friendly with domain.com/product/zdcd-jobd3d-fdoh what is the easiest way to convert these to read URL's without causing any disruptions with the SERP. Are we talking about a MOD-Rewrite in the CMS.......

Want to change URL for a page
Hey there Mozzers. I want to change the url of a certain page on my website. Example: www.example.com/poker-face I want to change this www.example.com/poker-faces Should I create a new page and make the old one 301? Does 301 pass all the link juice in the new page or do i have to make a rel=canonical also ?

I don't understand how this site is ranking?
This website is ranking for a very high competitive keyword "bail bonds los angeles" http://www.bondgirlsbailbonds.com/ They maybe have one backlink and 10 citations. How are they ranking for 2nd spot? This doesn't seem possible. Almost 5 other domains on page have pr2 and higher and not able to beat this site. Can someone please explain what might be causing this? thanks in advance

Duplicate content and URL's
Hi Guys, Hope you are all well. Just a quick question which you will find nice and easy 🙂 I am just about to work through duplicate content pages and URL changes. Firstly, With the duplicate content issue i am finding the seo friendly URL i would normally direct to in some cases has less links, authority and root domain to it than some of the unseo friendly URL's. will this harm me if i still 301 redirect them to the seo friendly URL. Also, With the url changed it is going to be a huge job to change all the url so they are friendly and the CMS system is poor. Is there a better way of doing this? It has been suggested that we create a new webpage with a friendly URL and redirect all the pages to that. Will this lose all the weight as it will be a brand new page? Thank you for your help guys your legends!! Cheers Wayne
