Site recently updated- are my campaign results really accurate?
-
I recently updated a website and it seems as though my campaign results are not accurate. I feel that the more I learn about SEO, the less I know (if that makes sense?). Every time I check my campaign results for this site I feel like I am missing something but just don't know where to begin. The site is aphroditedesserts.com
For example, "aphrodite desserts" is one of my keywords. When I type that into Google, it automatically pulls up the site as #1. But in my campaign, it shows that "aphrodite desserts" does not rank in the top 50 for google. Why is this? (I know there is a lot I could do to improve the SEO keywords on this site, but I am limited because of the client's budget.) However, if I could just get a handle on the answers for these types of issues, I think I would feel much more confident as an SEO specialist. Right now I feel more like a fraud. =(
Any insight into what may be causing this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Thank you for suggesting this. I didn't want to submit a ticket if I was doing something wrong (which is probably the issue). However, I cannot seem to resolve this so I think you're right; I'm going to submit a ticket. Thanks!

Sounds like it's time to submit a ticket to the help desk. Email them at help@seomoz.org with the query in question and the destination URL. I know there were some issues with UK rank tracking, I'm not sure about rank tracking otherwise. The help desk would be able to tell you though.

Well that's great news; thanks for checking! No, this isn't my first report. The re-design launched mid-July, so I'm pretty sure that I've given things enough time to show up. Maybe I should give it through August?
-
When I google "Aphrodite Desserts" I get the site (and the new SERP 12-pack!) as number 1 as well. Is this your first report? If so, give it a week or two and it should start showing up. Sometimes it can be stubborn.

Thank you for the tips. I tried each suggestion but still get the same results. Although the issue is not resolved, I feel better being able to weed some things out. Thanks again for taking the time to make some recommendations!

- Try logging out or using a completely different computer - Google modifies your results according to your past search behavior.
- Double check you are comparing the same country version of Google. You may be searching Google.co.uk and tracking Google.com
- It could be getting a boost from local search - try the search with a friend in a different part of the country.

Results of keyword rankings way off??
I just did my first crawl, and a bunch of the keywords show my rank as being like 76 or 102 and I'm number 1 for the search when I search manually. **I of course have personal results turned off and I'm not logged into gmail when I search.

Filtering OSE Results
Issue: When I export OSE Linking Pages results to .CSV, I'd like to filter only unique domains. It seems to me that there should be a way to do this with Excel, perhaps pivot table. Anyone have a quick solution for this? Alternatively, I can use Linking Domains, which gives all unique roots, but then i lose follow/nofollow filter. Thoughts?

Any tools for scraping blogroll URLs from sites?
This question is entirely in the whitehat realm... Let's say you've encountered a great blog - with a strong blogroll of 40 sites. The 40-site blogroll is interesting to you for any number of reasons, from link building targets to simply subscribing in your feedreader. Right now, it's tedious to extract the URLs from the site. There are some "save all links" tools, but they are also messy. Are there any good tools that will a) allow you to grab the blogroll (only) of any site into a list of URLs (yeah, ok, it might not be perfect since some sites call it "sites I like" etc.) b) same, but export as OPML so you can subscribe. Thanks! Scott
