Do links from a Tumblr blog count as inbound links?

That's it. I'm thinking of making a Tumblre blog (s) for inbound links. Is it worthwhile?

THanks for your help Andy. We are doing just that - guest blogging is a greaty way in - be it with content, infographics or whatever. Works really well for us at the moment.

LOL. It was actually a very reputable conference/speaker... I don't think they were advocating link farming, but moreover the principal of it.
I agree though - I'm actually very white hat (have to be!) so it's not something I'd consider. 100% agree with root domains being more important. Thanks for your help.

I think you should start visiting other speakers on your seminars
The amount of root domains linking to you is far more important that the numbers of links from a domain. Having 50 Tumblr blogs would never count as good as 50 different sites linking to you. -

No - i don't think I'd do that - was more over looking at the principal of it (as opposed to the rights/wrongs). At a seminar I went to recently one of the speakers had over 50 Tumblr sites and was touting this as a legitimate tactic...

That sounds to me like you are wanting to start your own little link-farm - I would advise you steer well clear of this!

I think they do, as I can't find any 'nofollow' on their links. However, unless if you have a really popular (and well linked to Tumblr blog), I don't think the value will be large.

Link Relevance vs Link Authority ?
Hi guys, I have a quick question regarding some low quality links my site is getting. From the information in Open Site Explorer, the website Im talking about has a page authority of 16 while the domain authority is 11\. These are very low quality scores in my oppinion and Im thinking of removing them with Google Disavow Tool. The thing is that, although the domain is low quality, the links have relevance as they're in the same business sector as us. More exactly, the name of the domain is taxisavona and the company I work for is also a taxi company. Hi All My question is If I am writing an informative article for quality content and to help attract visitors Do I add the article to my own website and try to get visitors via link building or do I post the article as a Guest post on another website with links back to the relevant pages or should I do both and if so what % eg 50% blog posts and 50 % intenral posts thanks in advance

Hello, We wanted to start hosting our own blog and was wondering (long term) if we are using embedding links to our inner pages in our blog entries if it would be a problem with Google long term? We have a designer that suggestes a custome look to match the site, and leave the wordpress plugin. Should we continue to contribute to blogger, and wordpress (free) if we are hosting our own blog? Getting a link from a blog on every page querying what OSE is suggesting
Hi Guys My client has been offered a link from someone within their industry on their blog. The blog has 20 categories and multiple (hundreds if not more pages within each category). The owner of the website has said that would be happy to give my client a link on each of their pages (including their homepage). They have done this for another couple of people who they like before, so I typed these domains into OSE and noticed that for each page it shows a link and also the page authority. Domain Authority of this blog giving the link is 71 Home Page PA - 76 About us PA - 60 it goes on.........the least PA being shown is 52 so lets for arguements sake say the other 18 or say categories are PA of 52 too. My question is surely the OSE is not accurate to imply that my client could be passed page authority from 18 categories at 52 each + home page of 76 + about me page of 60? Hopefully you understand the point I'm trying to make

Do affiliate links count for Google?
Hi, I have been reading about affiliate links - links with a tracking code in the URL (i.e.: www.xxx.com/?aff=123456) and I can't find a definitive answer. Does Google count them as natural links or maybe they do not even pass any link juice? And if they don't, what if I get a natural link from a website (without tracking code) and later that website becomes my affiliate? Would the first link still count? I guess that there can't be any certainty about all this, but I would love to know your expert opinions 🙂 Thanks!

Panda Update: Isn't a link still a link?
I was doing some link building and some SEO's said that the Panda update affected many websites. I am going to use eZineArticles.com as my example. EzineArticles was affected by the Panda update and does not show up in the SERPs as much as before. But they still have doFollow Links coming from the articles I am submitting. QUESTION: Regardless if EzineArticles was affected by the Panda Update, isn't a "Follow Link" still a "Follow Link" OR am I completely wasting my time on this devalued website? Edit: Yes I know a PR 0 page is not as valuable as a PR 9 page. I am asking from the standpoint of the affected Panda Update domains overall.

Do you think it's a good idea to try to find synergy between clients for blog posts/citations/links, or should you keep clients away from each other?
Say you have for example three (in this case) clients, and: Client A sells red widgets Client B is a doctor Client C sellls blue widgets With some research, you find that: Red widgets (A) can make the process of blue widget creation (C) even more effective. Red widgets (A) can protect you from harmful things that doctors (B) are qualified to recommend that you stay away from. Furthermore, there are things that doctors (B) recommend that you do in order to maximize the benefits of red widgets (A) Blue widgets (C) carry with them certain potential health risks, which according to doctors (B) can be minimized using the following means Sometimes blue widgets (C) can be used to effectively repair red widget (A) factories ...and so forth. Sure you're really writing these articles to generate links and exchange authority, and frankly you started with "how can I find synergy between these clients?" rather than a with a great article subject that needed a citation which luckily happened to be another client, but the citations are legitimate and the clients are qualified to speak on the subjects where their expertise and interests overlap. Would you consider going ahead with this? Does anyone have any experience doing it? I could see potential pitfalls if clients were to interact with each other, but keeping yourself as the intermediary might well work and overall it seems like a decent way to grab low-hanging fruit as they say. What do you guys think?
