Is an Overflow SEO friendly
-
Is an "overflow" (scrollbar) seo and Google friendly? I only ask because it hides part of the visible text.
-
Ryan,
Why do you say z-indexing is a blackhat trick? I use it for my float bar on a few of my pages just to keep it on top, and it moves with the scrolling of the page. I'm not hiding anything with it.
-
The reason I'm asking is because I have valuable links within scrollbar that I need indexed. Google last indexed it today, but if I look at the "text-only" version, it only shows the visible part of the links. Here's the page: http://www.rmtracking.com/gps-tracking-installers/gps-tracking-us.php
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Google has been looking at CSS for a while now, but I think its only to stop black hat tricks like z-indexing away filler text or using H1 tags where they're not actually headlines. An overflow:scroll is just a way of visually organizing your content, so I can't see any good reason that Google would penalize this. Of course, I don't have data to back this up so take it for what its worth.
What they could conceivably do is subtract some weight from the text inside the element with the overflow property. If there are two paragraphs on a page, one with overflow, one without, it could argued that the paragraph without the overflow scroll bars can be seen as slightly more important, since its presented in full.

SEO Implications of using Images for Article Titles
Hi guys! New to Moz Pro. I just recently completed an online course with Moz... I have a client who is writing some new content for their site, and we are approaching it with SEO in mind. I was wondering about using an image with text on it as the article title, instead of an actual "text on the page" title. Wondering if that's going to "cost" us anything, SEO wise. I guess we could use alt-text/title/description fields to make sure the keywords are crawlable for our article title but do they have less "weight" than a standard title? How does that work? Hope my question makes sense. Article header attached mB0PXsA.jpg

Will ReDesigning my website negatively affect SEO?
I currently have a one page website which lists all the company information on one page [domain name is www. bwd . co . za]. It uses javascript for navigation. My challenge is that the layout is outdated and I would like to update it with a high quality WordPress theme which will not be a one-pager. Currently on Open Site Explorer the website has a domain authority of 30/100 and page authority of 41/100. I've worked hard to push the numbers to get to where they are hence I'm a bit concerned. Will re-designing my website negatively affect SEO?

Analyzing word count on page SEO
Hey guys quick question, when I am analyzing/ doing word count for a particluar key word and I want to make sure that i am no where near Keyword stuffing, does Google consider the alt and title tags keywords of images as part of the KW count when looking for on page Keyword stuffing. For example. let say I have a page that i just created with 1000 words. and Only 2 of the words are my target Keywords. Then, if i add a picture and add the keyword to both the alt and title tag and description of the image, does google now consider the "page" to have a total of 5 keywords? Also, a lot has changed recently since penguin and panda, is there a good rule of thumb for what ratio to stay under as far as keywords to text.?

Does having a "+" in a URL hurt SEO? Would much value be gained changing it to a hyphen?
There's a site that contains "+" signs in the URL in order to call different information for the content on the page. Would it be better to change those to hyphens (-), or not that much value will be gained, so leave them as is? Thanks!
