How do I find the most linked to page of a site?
-
I'm looking at a site for a potential link and am trying to find the most linked to page.
The SEOmoz toolbar tells me the root domain (DA) is linked to by 660 root domains but the main URL (PA) is linked to by 38 root domains.
I used open site explorer and got the same # of 38 root domains in the result.
From the Top Pages tab, I clicked on the 2nd page down and the SEOmoz toolbar gives me 189 root domains linking to that page (PA).
Then I ran a Linkscape report to see what that would say and I get 146 linking root domains.
1. Is this 2nd page down on OSE the most linked to page?
2. a. Is something off in these numbers?
b. How come OSE/Linkscape doesn't report the 660 root domains in the DA? -
In OSE I get the same result for both of these:
Show ALL links from External Pages Only to
1. all pages on subdomain
2. all pages on root domain
-
Make sure you are checking all external links on the root domain and not just to the page...

Found hidden pages of outbound links created via ex-SEO consultant. Best way to detect other possible problems?
We paid for an SEO contract in addition to our new website design (same company did both) and after 12 months cancelled the SEO. I have been very suspicious ever since of our bad page rank and general lack of traffic (despite my efforts) and today found a hidden page of outbound links. Currently in shock that this happened although my own fault for lack of due diligence. The SEO consultants were very unhappy that I cancelled the contract so I am worried about the extent of bad links or negative google juice they may have created (god knows what else they may have done). So my questions are: How can I detect any other (potentially hidden) problems? How can I recover from this - any right/wrong way to approach google? What is the best way to bring this up with the SEO consultants? Thank you in advance.

Automatically Check List of Sites For Links To Specific Domain
Hi all, Can anyone recommend a tool that will allow me to put in a list of about 200 domains that are then checked for a link back to a specific domain? I know I can do various link searches and use Google site: command on a site by site basis, but it would be much quicker if there was a tool that could take the list of domains I am expecting a link on and then find if that link exists and if so on what page etc. Hope this makes sense otherwise I have to spend a day doing it by hand - not fun! Thanks,

Why does page report still have "Too Many Links" alert?
I'm a new Moz Pro user and see that the on-page optimization report includes "too many links" on page and references the "100 links" guideline that Google no longer endorses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=l6g5hoBYlf0 Too many links is still an issue in terms of passing link juice, but not much else. Matt Cutts has stated that it is fine to have many internal links in this regard. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Can someone explain why I have been seeing an increase in the number of Linking Page URLs in OSE that link directly to downloads?
Ever since the last couple Linkscape updates when doing competitive back link analysis I have noticed a large increase in the number of URLs of Linking Pages in OSE that result in an immediate file download. The majority of the time these downloads are not common files ie PDF, DOC files. For example, these were all in a competitors back link profile: http://download.unesp.br/linux/debian/pool/main/i/isc-dhcp/isc-dhcp-relay-dbg_4.1.1-P1-17_ia64.deb http://snow.fmi.fi/data/20090210_eurasia_sd_025grid.mat http://www.rose-hulman.edu/class/me/HTML/ES204_0708_S/working model examples/Le25 mad hatter.wm?a=p&id=145880&g=5&p=sia&date=iso&o=ajgrep These are just a few I came across for a single competitor. Is this sketchy black hat SEO, some sort of error, actual links, or something else? Any information on this subject would be helpful. Thank you.

It won't let me print the secon or third pages of site errors.
When I place the site errors page in pdf format it won't let me print the second or any of the other webpages containing content about my site. Does any one know why?

My campaigns are not analyzing all my pages.
Hi I created a campaign against http://www.universalpr.com, and this campaign reports that only one page has been crawled. This site uses a jsvascript redirect to the real page which can be found through the following: www.universalpr.com/wps/portal/universal/univhome/!ut/p/c5/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os_hQdwtfCydDRwN_Jw9LA0-LAOPQYCdDI_9QY_1wkA6zeAMcwNFA388jPzdVPzi1WL8gO68cANNcdLU!/dl3/d3/L2dBISEvZ0FBIS9nQSEh/ Now I also attempted to create a campaign against this page in case that the javascript redirect was breaking things, but that campaign also reported 1 page crawled. Can anyone instruct me as to what I'm doing wrong? Thank you

Will Open Site Explorer ever show number of links over time?
OSE is an amazing tool, but do you guys at SEOmoz have any plans to develop it so we can track numbers of links over time. I need to demonstrate to clients how the link building is going, and this would be a great quick report to see how many links you found on a given day, month, year, etc. A bit like magesticSEO backlink history graph, but better 🙂
