Social Shares Metrics?
-
I notice in the OSE Link Metrics the reporting of Social Shares. The total shares do not include the Facebook Likes. What I'm wondering is what does this mean? Do Shares count more than Likes? Are Likes not counted by Google. What about LinkedIn Shares, why are they not being reported on?
If Google is now putting more emphasis on Social where is the best use of effort? Getting Likes, Getting Shares only Twitter and Facebook and Google+?

Thanks for getting back to me. Hopefully we can help with the beta testing. It will be interesting to have data at the page level.

Hi Catriona,
Rand provided an explanation in a recent webinar as to why social shares that I know exist are not appearing in OSE.
The way that social metrics are currently returned in OSE is limited to the URL that you are checking with the tool. So, if you check your home page URL in OSE, then you will only see social shares for the home page. If, for example there are social shares out there for other pages on your site, they cannot be rolled up into the report.
The upcoming Social Analytics feature looks set to give us much improved data right in the PRO App in future. The word is that the Private Beta will get underway within the next couple of weeks and public launch is likely around Nov/Dec.
If you haven't caught up on that yet, you can read the post from Rand to find out more.
Hope that helps,
Sha

How to share several object configurations in Gallery
I need to share multiple custom reports and segments within my company. But I can only upload one link at a time. Avinash Kaushik's "Occam's Razor Awesomeness" contains multiple segments and reports (see the screenshot or this sharing link: https://www.google.com/analytics/web/importing/?authuser=0&utm_source=google.com/analytics/gallery/&utm_medium=referral&utm_term=view&utm_content=dashboard,custom_report,advanced_segment&utm_campaign=gafe_gallery_integration#importing/a36125464w64131120p65827922/%3F_.objectId%3DVMoVbW3LQbyo87ymcFDxCQ%26_.selectedProfile%3D/). How is he able to do that? Does anyone know how to combine multiple reports into one gallery view?

Tracing Performance of Individual Social Media Posts
Hello Moz community, I have an Analytics question. Is there a way (using the social media APIs or otherwise) to track performance of individual social media posts to generate monthly reports? We list lawyers on our directories for people to find. We also share the lawyer's information on our social media posts. I'd like to be able to generate a monthly report letting the lawyers know what we've done for them on social media pages. I'm thinking....we can identify a social media post by the URL inside the text of the post (IF URL_Inside_Page =Lawyer-Profile-Page_URL Then). I'd like to see numbers like: Facebook post clicks (combined) Facebook post likes (combined) Facebook post views (combined) Twitter post views (combined) Twitter post clicks (combined) Thank you

I'm trying to track in Google Analytics how many people are clicking the Facebook "share" button. I'm not sure if I have it properly set up. Here's the link that I followed to set up the tracking in analytics: http://www.simoahava.com/analytics/google-tag-manager-track-social-interactions/

Are Click-Through rates & Bounce Rates as Ranking Metrics ?
There are lots of articles around but I would prefer to see what everyone here has to say about it. Are they ranking metrics ( directly or In-directly )? If they are then how to get it right? Can i depend on Google In-page analytic? What is an acceptable Bounce rate for a home page ? What is an average click through rate for your landing page ? thanks

Will Bing/Google's engine index a page that has only been on social media?
Will Bing's engine index and rank a page that has only been seen on social media and has no inbound links? Will Google's? Are inbound links absolutely required to get a page indexed and ranking and getting traffic? If unknown, how would you go about testing this?

Why is this website with worse metrics performing better on serps?
Hi! I would like to ask if anyone has any ideas on why the second website in this analysis is getting position 2 on google and website 1 is getting position 5: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/comparisons?site=bonobetfair.info&comparisons[0]=www.bonobetfair.com&=Compare The metrics indicate that the first website is clearly superior in (almost) all metrics. Why could this be?
