Yahoo/Bing Search

Are there current articles that describe the differences in Yahoo/Bing vs Google SERPs? We have solid top 10 rankings in Google for a bunch of competitive keywords but aren't ranking well in Yahoo.

Thanks Ryan

I didn't understand from your original question that you already were ranked on those terms in Bing/Yahoo, and wished to improve your ranking. Please disregard my prior response as it does not apply to your situation.
The bottom line, Bing and Google use different algorithms to rank results. They mostly agree about the best and worst sites, but those in between can rank very differently. I have pages presently ranked #1 in Yahoo but not ranked on the first page of Google for the same keyword, and vice versa.
The only recommendation I can make is to work to improve the number of pages indexed by each search engine, and continue to apply best SEO practices to your site. It is a very common result to see your site ranking significantly better for the same keyword in various search engines. I don't expect that to change in the next few years.

If we're already ranking in Bing/Yahoo (just not in the top 10) how would submitting our pages help? We're already indexed in their SERPs.
Also, I've also noticed that the top 3-4 sites in Google rank consistently in the top 10 in Bing/Yahoo. Sites ranking 5+ in Google don't have the same correlation in Bing/Yahoo. In our vertical I've noticed that Bing/Yahoo favors large authority content sites more so than Google.

What Ryan said. Traditionally, I've seen that Bing (and Yahoo) will ignore link shenanigans that elevate listings better in Google. An example that I personally have is a competitive kw positioned at #4 in Bing, and #81 in Google. But, most of the competition are link spammers so... Don't forget that Baidu is going to switch to Bing's engine (at least on the English side).

Both Bing and Yahoo use Bing's crawler. I have experienced the same issue and noticed I could even have the #1 rank in Google yet not be ranked at all in Bing. I was able to resolve the issue as follows:
-
Log into Bing Webmaster Tools
-
Claim your site and upload a current sitemap. Take note of how many URLs are indexed.
-
You can submit 10 URLs per day, up to a total of 50 per month directly to Bing. Use this feature to submit your home page and your 9 next most important pages. Follow up each day to submit 40 other pages. This will ensure after a week Bing will be crawling 50 pages of your site, and then can follow links to other pages of your site.
I used this process and Bing quickly indexed the pages I added, and slowly added other pages from my site.

My Website disappeared from Google Search Results overnight
Hello there, I'm the owner of the Website https://cours-toujours.com/, dedicated to reviewing running shoes. My Website is pretty young and I'm currently focused on building new reviews (so I keep adding new articles, week after week, I did not really focus on the rest of the website for now).Until a few days ago, I saw growing traffic on my Website, everything seemed good and I kept adding new reviews to my website. And then suddently traffic dropped and went to 0 in 2 days (I went from 550 impressions/day to 49 impressions/day in 2 days :/)When I look in the Google Search Console, I don't see any issue: my sitemaps are submitted and the correct number of URLs are reported I don't have any Manual Action or Security Issue I don't have any Removal Request Everything seems fine... But I can barely find my website in Google Search Results. When I do a site search (site:cours-toujours.com), I find only 2 pages of results, mostly non-important pages (categories, etc.).I asked in Google Community Forums, and i got this reply about my pages being too similar to one another (https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/44880689?hl=en). But I'm not really happy with this answer, as all my pages have ~1000 words of unique content (even if of course they have the same structure as they are all dedicatd to reviewing a running shoe...)Any idea where this might come from/how I can fix the issue?

Search Console Indexed Page Count vs Site:Search Operator page count
We launched a new site and Google Search Console is showing 39 pages have been indexed. When I perform a Site:myurl.com search I see over 100 pages that appear to be indexed. Which is correct and why is there a discrepancy? Also, Search Console Page Index count started at 39 pages on 5/21 and has not increased even though we have hundreds of pages to index. But I do see more results each week from Site:psglearning.com My site is https://wwww.psglearning.com

Should a sub domain be a separate property in the Search Console?
We're launching a blog on a sub-domain of a corp site (blog.corpsite.com). We already have corpsite.com set up in the Search Console. Should I set up a separate property for this sub-domain in the Search Console (WMT) in order to manage it? Is it necessary? Thanks, JM

Blog.domain or domain.com/blog
My client can't do domain.com/blog because he's on wix. I'm thinking blog.domain.com. Do you have any resources for the pros and cons of this? I understand that google looks at them very similarly now, is that true for google +?

Duplicate content / title caused by CAPITALS
What is the best way to stop duplicate content warning (and Google classing them as duplicate content), when it is caused by CAPITALS (i.e www.domain.com/Directory & www.domain.com/directory ). I try to always use lower case (unless a place name then i use Capitals for the first letter), but it looks like i have slipped up and got some mixed up and other sites will also be linking to Capitals Thanks Jon

Getting multiple errors for domain.com/xxxx/xxxx/feed/feed/feed/feed...
A recent SEOMoz crawl report is showing a bunch 404's and duplicate page content on pages with urls like http://domain.com/categories/about/feed/feed/feed/feed/feed and on and on. This is a wordpress install. Does anyone know what could be causing this or why SEOMoz would be trying to read these non-existent feed pages?

How to push down outdated images in Google image search
When you do a Google image search for one of my client's products, you see a lot of first-generation hardware (the product is now in its third generation). The client wants to know what they can do to push those images down so that current product images rise to the top. FYI: the client's own image files on their site aren't very well optimized with keywords. My thinking is to have the client optimize their own images and the ones they give to the media with relevant keywords in file names, alt text, etc. Eventually, this should help push down the outdated images is my thinking. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much.
