What's the impact of # in the main domain page?

After a little research I did in the Source Code of the root domain page of seomoz.org and searchenginejournal.com , I found that the first one contains no
at all and that the other contains like 10
.
I though that the
was something relatively important on a web page for on page optimisation. Did I missed something?
What's you opinion on the subject?

I have spent a huge amount of time lately reading a lot of SEO information and have never seen that suggestion made. The closest would be Matt Cutts sharing how he slightly altered his page title from his H1 tag to capture an additional version of a key word.

A quick note that if you're not logged into SEOmoz when you visit the home page you'll find two areas with H1 tags.

Does anyone have details on this dont match title to H1 thing? Any studies or experiments? I hear it a lot but dont recall seeing anything concrete

A H1 tag is still the recommended way by W3 to headline a page:

I still find that by following W3 recommendations it makes a good step in creating a well optimised page. Obviously you aren't going to rank by having a H1 tag alone, but it will always never harm the page to have a well crafted one. One thing I do recommend is having a different H1 tag to the Page Title.

The official answer is ideally each page uses one H1 tag. You can use a couple more if it is tactfully done to provide a better user experience.

I have read from a few sources the H1 tag has been devalued by Google as it was being abused too much. I still use it where appropriate and recommend it's use to others as well. With that said, if you use a div or other means to provide the proper text size and font weight (i.e. bold) you may receive the same effect from SEs. I prefer to play it safe for now and use the tags.

Howdy Moz friends. I've just been checking out this post on Moz from 2011 and wanted to know how relevant it is today? I'm particularly interested in a number of links we have on our HP potentially harming important landing page rankings because not enough 'link juice is getting to them i.e) are they are being diluted by all the many other links on the page? (deeper pages, faqs, etc etc) It seems strange to me that as Google as has got more sophisticated this would still be that relevant (thus the reason for posting). Should a company worry about how many domains it maps to the same home page?
I seem to be at logger heads with developers regarding domain mapping. The scenario: I have a company with one site on a primary domain name, but all the other domains they own are mapped using a tool provided by their hosting vendor. But. what I see is a keyword loaded domain that shows it has been 'mapped' to the primary domain, but you can type into the browser this keyword loaded domain and it will serve up in your browser that same home page you see on the PRIMARY DOMAIN. So, picture this - you are looking at the home page on wwww.keyworddomain.com and see the same home page as www.primarycompanydomain.com - but if you select anything from the menu at www.keyworddomain.com you will be taken immediately to www.primarycompanydomain.com/page-you-selected I just get a feeling this is not right as I can search Google for www.keyworddomain.com and Google lists the site home page on that domain. But when I click through from the listed result, I am taken to www.primarycompanydomain.com which is ideally where I want to be and I would want Google to focus on this domain, and I have told it to do so within the feature included within Google Webmaster Tools. The developers say there is nothing wrong. There argument - why would a hosting company provide this domain mapping feature if it was not best practice. My argument - but Google is listing that domain URL (www.keyworddomain.com) despite the fact it takes me through to www.primarycompanydomain.com - will Google not think this strange despite me telling it via GWMT that www.primarycompanydomain.com is the one and only domain I am working on. Tell me if I am going mad or not, and who is right and who is wrong. Appreciate all your answers.

Can a country level domain perform well in international SEO if all the targeted keywords are related to that country domain?
Hi fellow Mozers, I am doing international SEO on Google US, UK, UAE and Saudi Arabia. All my targeted keywords have my country name in it, for example, export companies in France, best import companies in France and so on. Finally, my website has a country level domain i.e. www.xyz.co.fr _Hence, my questions are: _ 1. Is it good have a country level domain in this case or should I go TLDs? 2. Ranking for specific pages
HI, Lets say my website is abc.com and my targeted keyword is abc for index page. Internal pages, like abc.com/apple.htm, abc.com/banana.htm.
