Do subdomains (eg .blogspot.com) carry the same link juice as a .com or .co.uk?
-
Hi guys.
Just wondered what people's thoughts were on the value of a link from a subdomain vs a .com or .co.uk - I have several clients operating within the UK crafts sector, and there are a huge number of blogspot blogs with decent PR etc.
Given that anyone can start one of these for free (and therefore theoretically get themselves hundreds of bogus links), I wonder whether they carry the same value as an independent site.
I'll look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts

Examine the below two URLs:
Both sites start off with the same value from a SEO perspective. They have no inherent value and any PR needs to be built from scratch.
The advantage of the yoursite.com is you own the domain. You can create subdomains and use the domain for life. With a blogspot.com subdomain, you are using the sub-domain under specific terms, and you could lose the subdomain if those terms are violated. There are a few instances of angry people who had built up their blogspot.com subdomains over a period of many years and then had their site taken away from them. Generally speaking, you should create your own domain.

Google is clever enough to see that your blog is on a subdomain(such as squidoo or blogger or wordpress etc etc) and not judge the links strength on that but rather see your blog as a site on it's own. Therefor be carefully putting too much value into the domain authority metric when building/getting links from such blogs.

Root Domain Link for Affiliate's Link
It seems my affiliate link: http://www.hrmsplugins.com?partners=21 is not being considered as a "root domain" backlink when this link is used on their website. Is there a reason for this?

Do sites on the same c-block and same server count as seperate linking root domains when linking to each other?
Lets say there are 50 businesses who have their website on the same server and are on the same c-block but the owners of the individual sites are different (i.e. they are all completely different sites not relevant to each other). Each of those sites are linking to each other due to a feature on the sites. This obviously increases the number of total links to each site but does it also increase the number of linking root domains? Or does this just show up as one linking root domain due to all of them being on the same server and the sharing the same c-block?

Brandpoint.com
We were recently made aware of brandpoint.com. They produce content and guarantee the content will be listed on a minimum of 600 websites that they have agreements with. This includes the LA times and others. Their agreements state that the content will be a maximum of 2 clicks from the homepage and will live for 1-2 years before getting archived. Does anyone know anything about this company and/or the overall strategy of achieving links on these highly trafficked/valued sites through articles? Will these links help us or is this similiar to sending out a press release on prweb where you get picked up by benzinga and other sites automatically and the value for the links isn't really there? Any insight you can provide about this company and or strategy would be most appreciated.

Different Link Titles Linking to the same page
So I'm doing a lot of link building but my question is how do search engines treat different link titles to the same page. For example, my main page is www.musillawfirm.com If I have 20 links from 20 sites linking to it as Melbourne FL DUI Lawyer and 20 more linking as Melbourne FL immigration Lawyer and More linking as Cocoa FL DUI lawyer etc... what happens? Do the search engines just rank me higher for all the terms or would it be better to always just link to separate landing pages? Thanks in advance

Link Building Training Courses (UK)
Hi, Does anybody know of any good UK Link Building training courses or trainers? I have read loads of information on here and other sites which tells you that you need to get good high quality links but have not found much information on exactly how you go about doing this (apart from looking at competitors links - which is easy). So I would love to get some training for me and another team member here on Link Building specifically. We have all the other areas of SEO pretty much covered and get pretty good rankings for long tail and some broad phrases. We just need a bit of extra Link Building help to boost some rankings up even further. Thanks in advance Andy

Article Links
I write and publish artcles. Typically I publish them on a few top article sites like EZineArticles. The articles then get picked up by other sites, often numbering in the hundreds. All of the articles are published with a link back to our website using a keyword. Are there any SEO risks in this type of link proliferation?
