IFrame facebook fanbox and tweet blocks
-
I am looking for a Facebook fanbox display, and a recent tweets display which looks nice and uses an iframe. The reason I desire an iframe is to eliminate these otherwise followed links which I do not necessarily endorse.
When you use a facebook fanbox, if 12 users are displayed then you have an extra 12 links added to your page.
When you use a recent tweet display then each tweet, depending on your configuration, can offer many links. The tweeter's avatar is a link along with the sender's name and any links added to the message.

Thank you David and Gary. I have used the official one in the past from that exact page. Somehow I missed the iframe option.
Any ideas for twitter?
-
Yeah better just using the official ones to be honest. Always work well for me.
I one time had to use the other coded version for the Facebook fan box as the iframe would not display.

Just use the official Facebook fanbox widget creator. It gives you two options for code, one of which is an iframe;

Hope that helps?

Facebook Outreach Tips - what to say
Hi, I've been shown how to do facebook outreach in my home town. I am a weight loss hypnotist. I was shown how to do outreach to possible home town clients using the facebook search feature. I go to the search and type in "Friends who like weight loss" And I get a couple of friends who have liked a major weight loss site After I've done that search, I look to the right in facebook. It has a bunch of dropdowns. I choose the same search parameters except I change it to "Live in Boise" (my town) and "Not my Friend". I get dozens of facebook users who live in Boise and are not my friends and are interested in weight loss. I can message these people (less than 30 a day) Here's the problem: I don't want to spam them. How do I get these people interested in my weight loss hypnosis program (I could really help them) by sparking up a conversation and not spamming. Everything I can think of saying seems manipulative. I don't know how to start a conversation and invite people to come in for a free sample session. My free sample session is 30 minutes and is free just to see if the client and I are a good fit. My website is bobweikel.com if that helps. How do I do this with the utmost integrity? Thank you.

Should URLs in tweets be spelled out or shortened?
For SEO purposes to get links, does it make any difference whether URLs are shortened? Do the search engines analyze key words in twitter URLs for relevance?

Should my Facebook like button be for my Facebook page or my webpage?
I am curious as to people's opinion about the Facebook like button you add to a given website. It would seem with the increased influence of social media indicators that you would want to have people "like" your webpage (as opposed linking the like back to your Facebook page) when they go to your webpage, but this dilutes the number of likes you get at both Facebook and your webpage. It is my understanding that people are more likely to "like" a page that already has a lot of "likes." As most of my clients are very small businesses, this is a significant consideration as their "like" volumes are very low by default (i.e., if you only have a few hundred people who even use your business it is hard to get thousands of likes). Thanks for your opinion!

SEO with facebook and twitter
Hi all, It's become more apparent to us all going forward after the panda update that social signals are becoming more and more important in regards to SERPS. Our website is www.capitalalist.com and is gaining a decent amount of traffic from Twitter. www.capitalalist.com/twitter and we have managed to work out what works for us on twitter and what doesnt allowing us to interact with our followers more and more. The problem is facebook. Direct marketing doesn't work here. Our page is www.facebook.com/capitalalist but we are struggling to get any traffic or interaction with our friends. Any advice on how to market properly for facebook for seo purposes? Thanks in advance.

Promoting a Facebook Contest
Hi, Mozzers- I'm running a contest for a client of mine via Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/barrettmoving. The prizes are great an iPad2 and an iPod Touch! The contest is pretty cool too. Basically it's a papercraft / travel thing that appeals to a wide range of people. Anyway, here's my question - I've started promoting the contest via social media, the website, online contests...like to get to promoting it on relevant blogs too. I'm in the beginning stages. Any other ideas? Has anyone had luck with PPC or FB ads? Thanks in advance! LHC oVThP5PcRvo
