MozTrust VERY low
-
Our mozTrust number is just 1.06. Looking at the rankings for important keywords for us, the sites around us all have over 4.
However on closer inspection, even some with a mozTrust of over 4 don't really have much of a different linking profile than our site.
With one competitor, I've looked on OpenSiteExplorer comparing link metrics, and we get tickmarks for everything other than mozTrust (1.06 us, 4.5 them).
What could posssibly be causing such a low number, and how important a factor is this in SERPS?

Yeah I had read that, I just wasn't sure why our page was so much lower than the others, especially ones that didn't even seem to have any particularly strong links back from anything that looked particularly authoratitive.

this explains moztrust

Although seomoz do a good job at trying to gage these things, it is not to say that they see it the same way as SE's

I should add this is on a page on our site, not the root.

Low KDS but high DA for all page 1 sites
Hi there A KDS report question... My client has a keyword with a low KDS (garden hose - 28). Intuitively this seemed too low, and when I checked what ranks, it is all high quality brand sites with high DAs. Admittedly the specific pages ranking have low PAs, but I can't see my client ever being able to compete with these big boys right now. How come the KDS is so low? This seems just wrong as the metric implies it is a good keyword to target - I know there are always lots of other things to check, but this does make me less confident with KDS reporting Anyone got any thoughts on this? Many thanks

How come a site with low PR and DA is first on everything?
Hi All, I've encountered a site that has PR3 on most important pages (and less on others but no more on any) and DA according to MOZ in the low 40's however it is first on everything on his niche (many keywords). How is it possible? Since it is possible, what is the importance of these metrics anyhow? Thanks

Does linking to relevant high authority websites effect your MozTrust or Rank?
Basically what the title says. I am having a hard time understanding why a compeitor with less linking domains and none of any real quality, they're all membership sites or partnerships, nothing to relevant to the industry. While we have links and articles on us from multiple magazines in our industry. As well as to relevant directories with high domain ranks. The only thing I noticed is they're linking to their clients website, which are all high authority websites. So do external links count towards your MozTrust or Rank?

Reporting Low internal links to Homepage
I am having a strange problem on one of our websites, I am currently comparing ourselves to our competition as it appears we are underranking. The one difference I can see is that our internal links are very low. They are currently at 22 to the homepage and section pages comapred to our competition which have a few hundred. The size of our site is around 800 pages and they all have a homepage link so I cannot see why it is not reading them. Any help would be appreciated the website url is http://www.trampolinesshop.co.uk/

Hi, I'm link building with Open Site Explorer. I'm really picky in get links from only high quality sites. When do you stop going down the list of possible backlink providers because the page authority is too low. I usually stop at 40, but what do you do, why, and what does it depend on?

MozRank and mozTrust computations
Are there any details on the computations involved with mR and mT? I am specifically wondering about Google.com. The DA and PA is 100. If that page does not max out on the other factors it seems that no internet page or site would. The page has the following stats: mR 8.68 mT 7.95 DmR 9.29 DmT 9.36 Until now I have only focused on DA & PA. I would like to better understand the mechanics of these other measurements.

What factors destroy MOZtrust?
In the process of trying to figure out why a site has suddenly seen a massive fall in traffic and just noticed that MozTrust has suddenly gone to zero - was previously around 2. Any ideas on factors most likely to result in total loss of MOZtrust for a site?

Why is a low ranking site outperforming a higher one?
Hi, I've got a question here that is more about learning than about rectifying this specific situation, as it is a low traffic (low dollar) situation. I would appreciate your help. Thanks, Ken The targeted long-tail is: carrollton ga internet marketing The targeted site is: http://www.kennethlewis.com/ Yet, when I run the keyword search I get this other site of mine, which is older, but has much worse metrics. http://www.breemawellness.com/ On this site, all I did was put a in-text link on it and added the keywords to my title tags. Open Site Explorer shows these metrics: KennethLewis.com 34, 23, 18, 98 vs. BreemaWellness 27, 15, 7, 10. Both are on the same server. Note: -Until two months ago the KennethLewis.com was only partially about Internet Marketing- mildly so, actually- and it was a 2-3 page iWeb not-optimized site. But BreemaWellness has never been about Internet Marketing, and those words were just added two months ago for the first time. -KennethLewis.com gets regular content changes, to the blog. BreemaWellness.com almost never gets touched. Thoughts?
