No Follow Blogs. Do they help with keyword density?
-
I know no follow blogs don't pass page rank or link juice, but do they aid in help with making your site know for a specific keyword when you use anchor text?
-
My apology , but i disagree only on one thing
"... you can almost guarantee yourself ..."
On a topic that is perfectly on grey zone like this (where not even the Google Webmaster prohibited it directly) , i know that i wont be able to guarantee it myself (even when it is backed with huge amount of correlated data)
All I am saying is, PERHAPS based on the correlation data made by mad scientist in SEOMOZ, the effect for links coming from Comment on Blog is not correlated to high rank , but as said by many correlation is not causation .. Again many on-going debate is running for this kind of discussion but no one can say "i guarantee it " (unless if uncle google decided to participate in this discussion himself) xD
my 2 cents

I definitely wouldn't guarantee blog commenting won't get you high rankings if you comment on quality do follow pages related to your niche. I have multiple sites that have first page rankings, some #1's with a great deal of blog comments. Not a practice I recommend as a full fledged strategy, but it is helping pages and rankings. As long as your comments are not spam and contribute to the conversation constructively they are definitely worth the time and you learn more about your industry along the way.

No. But not because of no follow, because it's a comment on a blog. If it's a super easy link to obtain you can almost garuntee yourself that it:
-
won't have much effect on your rankings.
-
isn't worth your time

Search engines definitely want to see a "healthy balance" of do-follow and no-follow links, so some no-follow anchor text from relevant, authoritative, non-spammy sites is good. Certainly can't hurt.

Dead/Broken links on old blogs
Hi We are currently trying to update our blog page on our website but quickly realized there are numerous dead or broken 404 links after clicking on anchor text from past blog posts. Our blog is set up in WordPress and we recently installed an SEO plug in with it. Some of these anchor texts don't actually need links and I want to unlink them, is there a simple way to do this on WordPress? Other anchor text I would like to "301 redirect" to another page. Can i do this on WordPress or is this something my SEO plugin should be able to fix? Answers are much appreciated! Thanks

When do backlinks start helping?
I have been working hard at getting quality backlinks but I had a lot of keywords slip in rankings this week. This may because I have been extremely busy for a week and haven't added a lot of content to my site. But I thought the backlinks would be helping. How long does it take backlinks to start boosting your site and what results should I see? I am focusing on getting backlinks from a site with a PR of 7. The others have a PR of 4-5. They are the BEST sites in my niche.

External linking on a company blog
This has been bothering me for a long time. Our company has a sub-domain blog that gets a respectable amount of traffic but not a lot of SER. Most of our traffic comes from social shares (although we do rank really high for a few key searches). The blog manager is convinced that providing external links to additional resources or source material "dilutes the SEO juice" for the blog. URLs are provided, but they aren't linked. Attempts to sway her to the idea that external links are actually Good Things® have been stonewalled. Tell me I'm right and why.

Google has a problem with this keyword
I've been trying to get one of my clients to rank in the first page for a word which I think has no serious competition at all. Every tool I tried so far including SEOMoz's on-page diagnostics tool seem to have no positive SEO results whatsoever. According to most tools out there our page is optimized for SEO more than every website who is ranked for this keyword. The competition also has less backlinks and social awareness. We even advertise on Google for this word. But Google says no...keeps dropping us in results. We have many FB and twitter followers to. But Google is committed to rank bad sites. Funny thing is that recently our site has received a PR6. No matter what we do Google is convinced to list pretty ugly looking sites for this specific keyword and I have ran out of options. This is really driving me crazy. The keyword we try to rank is "doktor" and we want to rank in google.com.tr. If you look the search results you will see a lot of youtube videos and some sites that don't even provide meaningful content. Please help.

Blog commenting
Is this still a good way of getting backlinks? I do not plan on making it my only method. Most of my backlinking is done through content creation, press releases, and guest blogging. But looking for some variety in there that can be done quicker. Is it even worth the time or are the links too spammy now? If I did I would actually hand build the links and comment to the article.

Do incoming affiliate links help with SEO?
Quick question: If my affiliates promote an ebook via an e-junkie affiliate link that points to a sales page on my domain, will I get any SEO benefit from the links? Will Google see that the e-Junkie affiliate link 'hops' through to my domain name? i.e. Affiliate's website --> eJunkie link --> ebook landing page on my domain Thanks for your advice! Ian

Hi Guys, I'm will be building on specific keywords for my site and I'm thinking of doing some article marketing & I would like some advise, please. I'm going to write 10 300 word articles and within each article I will have 2 anchor text links going back to my site. To reinforce this I will be pinging the articles once completed. I will be submitting the articles to ezine, go articles etc. Advise and some other suggestions as to best practice for building on specific keywords would be appreciated, thank you.
