Page titles and descriptions

A website has several wigets to show
Each wiget with its own page
The wigets mostly just vary in size
How would you suggest titles be done?
Example:
Wiget 1ft
Wiget 2ft
Wiget 3 ft
an so on........ Would this trigger a duplicate content issue given “Wiget” leads in the page title?

In that case, I would probably focus my efforts on a parent page. The keywords you are probably targeting won't have a lot of competition, and a high ranking top level landing page will also contribute to the rankings of lower level pages.
In addition, the concept of "Evergreen" comes to mind. When you cycle through model numbers or inventory, you would lose the value you've built into the lower level pages. If, instead, you focus on your top level "Evergreen" pages, you can update those pages without losing rankings.

There is probably an "it depends" here. For example clothes and many other items come in different sizes and usually they are all listed on one page without any detriment to SEO. My opinion is the single page would allow that single page to rank higher than many different pages. I can only imagine the confusion that would occur in search engine result lists if you had a page for each size of a particular shoe model being sold.
I think the rule would be is the size more important than what the item is. For example with shoes it is usually the shoe model that is most important (not the size) so one page with the size as key content on that page. But there are times where users are more likely to search for the size. Maybe it is wall mount ovens where the attributes of width and single and double are more important than the actual model then you might want to have separate pages for each size of the model.
You might also consider having a single page for a widget with the different options and then landing pages that would aggregate all the different widgets of a particular size and then link to the corresponding product detail page.

As long as they are actually different widgets, I think that would be fine. If you had 10 pages for widget 1 using different URL's, then I would start to rethink your strategy.

Hi Guys/Gals, We do a lot of work in a very competitive space (personal injury) and are having an internal debate on the best way to implement title tags for new sites. We understand that keywords, title tags, etc., don't possess the power they once did, but we have yet to see conclusive proof of this in our space. The vast majority of competitors still rank very well for keyword focused content, title tags, etc., while having average link profiles and little content. We write a lot of content for our clients and want to know if someone can offer their opinion on the question that follows this example: "Top 5 Injuries Caused by T-Bone Collisions | Indiana Accident Lawyer" Would it seem repetitive or manipulative to construct title tags as shown, always placing "Indiana Accident Attorney" or "Indianapolis Accident Lawyer," or similar of at the end of each title tag? 301 to Intermediate Page then Rel=Canonical from Intermediate to target page
Hi I'm working on an eCommerce site and don't have direct access to the CMS. I had requested developers to provide me a facilty to 301 via htaccess however this is working slight differently. I need guidance from experts whether it's okay or not: Old Page: example.com/old Target New Page: example.com/new After Implementing the redirect, It redirects to an intermediate page or in other words, The same target URL with a question mark added: example.com/new? (notice the question mark in the new URL) This intermediate page has a canonical tag for the exact target URL. So, if I 301 redirect example.com/old to example.com/new? (Intermediate page) and If the intermediate page example.com/new? has a canonical tag for the exact target URL (example.com/new), Will I be able to pass the link juice and authority of old page to the new page?

What if Paginated Pages all have PageRank?
Paginated Pages, page 2,3,4 etc.... they aren't supposed to have a PageRank, right? If they are only linked to from themselves, only the original page, Page 1, is supposed to be showing PageRank? I'm trying to double check that I am handling this right. I'm not using canonical, or noindex or any of that... just using rel next and prev, which I thought would be fine. Thoughts?

Page Title - What is better?
Hi SEO Heads, I have another question if someone would be so kind in answering What page title of the 2 below is better for SEO (i) Chocolate Cake|Chocolate Cake Recipe|Xmas Cake or (ii) Chocolate Cake | Chocolate Cake Recipe | Xmas Cake As you can see (ii) Page Title has a space before and after the | (vertical bar) I know the second page title looks better to human eyes but on some pages I had to forego the space so i could fit my keywords in the page title. is this a good idea? Page title changes based on results per page
I have a product listing that allows customers to set a results per page option. This ads a GET variable to the URL. I've added the page number to the title of this page if they go past the first page. If this results per page variable is added to the URL then google see it as a different page. Do I need to change the page title for this?
