100 One-Way .EDU Backlinks $30?
-
I've seen so many of these type of advertising on forums. Do you think it's safe (i.t.o search engine rankiings) to buy or not?
-
The general rule I work to in all aspects of life is, if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.
These types of links are very low quality and your probably sharing the links with spammy pharma, porn, watches and amsterdam esorts links. Don't do it!For $30 I can get an amazing article written in any given niche, and for an extra hour of my time, could probably promote it and attract the same amount of links! And clean ones at that!
-
Or they're links from spammy blog comments on abandoned or hacked edu blogs/guestbooks. I've seen that a lot. Do a [site:yourfavoriteuniversity.edu viagra] query and you'll see this spam on nearly any edu site you choose.

For starters it is never "safe" to purchase links, be it high PR links, or spammy links. Purchasing links can lead to serious penalties and worse the devastating Google ban.
Secondly, and someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't believe .edu links pass any more value than a .com, .org, .net, ect. So this appears to be a simple advertising ploy. They are most definitely not going to be posting your links to the Harvard University website and 100 others for $30.
This type of question is asked all the time, what is the best way to build links quickly and effectively. My answer is to not focus on what seems like an "easy" solution, instead spend some time researching what your competitors are up to, the hubs in your industry, and relevant sources such as forms and blogs; typically you can find some great linking opportunities that won't cost your a penny, and will provide much more value to your website.

P.S. Open Site Explorer is great for that.

Sounds like a scam. Either in that they're lying and aiming for something else from you (whatever else they're trying to sell) or they'll be linking from spammy sites that won't give you quality links. I'd stay far away.

I would like to discuss my issue as my site's some backlinks are generated but DA is still there. Can anyone make me understand the reason?0 -
My site backlinking search came back with 19k results, that's WAY above the usual number
Looking into the results I found over 18,000 instances of the same 2 websites having links in every single page, staging version of their site. How do I get rid of these? Are they damaging my SEO?

Backlinks from a secondary domain
Hi i finally figured out why my link profile is out of wack. Apparently we had a second domain registered that for some reason was active and linking to us - somewhat duplicated site. no idea when or how that happened. I wasnt with the company then. anyhow Ive now pointed the domain to a blank folder since I dont know how to disable it in 1&1 Hosting (if anyone knows please let me know!). Im wondering if this is enough? will the links still be there indexed even though the domain points to a blank folder? also how can I get google to profile my backlinks again? so I can see if it worked. Currently waiting for a new Moz crawl so Ill see if at least there my profile is looking healthier. thanks in advance!

Backlinks - Linking to new domain
Hello Moz community! My established client recently franchised their business by adding a metro area location. We have thousands of back links built to the corporate website, a lot of which have anchor text that are geo-targeted to the new metro area website. We still find the corporate website important, but would rather focus our efforts now on the newly franchised location. Does anyone have experience with successfully having old links changed to a new domain and if so how? When changing directory listings, such as everything on get listed, is it better do do slowly or as much at once as possible? Any recommendations or information would be appreciated! Thanks!

Backlink Building to Facebook?
Would there be any benefit to building some backlinks to your social media profiles (i.e. Facebook, Twitter), considering that you're linking to yourself regularly from them anyway? There are a few SEO companies that I would like to try out, but I figure why not try them out on my social media profiles first, before having them do any work directly to my site. Thoughts?

Best way to get more keywords to rank
I have a flash site and have been very successful at getting my keywords that are in my site title and also in the text of my page to rank well. What is the best way to get additional keywords to rank without increasing the text on your page. Is it just getting more anchor-text backlinks pointing your site with the new keywords in the text?

What to do about bad backlinks hurting authority?
My site has many backlinks from 208.109.47.246/* and go.diaodou.com/* which have low authority. The 208.109.47.246 I believe is my godaddy IP and I don't know why I have the diadou links. Is there anything I can do about these links other than building other more reputable links? Could switching hosts or going to a dedicated IP solve the 208.109.47.246 issue? Here is a look at the links- http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/www.mueslifusion.com%252F/a!links Thanks,

Finding freshest backlinks
Hi everyone, Thanks in advance for your help, I am doing some competitor analysis and noticed that one of our competitors had a massive spike in the number of baclkinks it received in the past month. Is there a tool or a method I can use to determine what links they have picked up in the last few weeks, by filtering by age of link? Many thanks Al
