Google+'s +1 for business....

I'm thinking (and I could be wrong) that eventually the number of people that have +1'd a site will begin to impact search results. After all, it is Google's platform. What are your thoughts on this? And do you know if having someone +1 your site is different than having them "follow" you or add you to their circles? Should a business have more followers or +1's?

This doesn't quite answer the question that's being asked. I'm thinking this would be fairly obvious to Google and wouldn't quite look natural to boot.

I think this would be situational....
Much like Facebook "Likes" you can put a "Like" box that directly makes them a fan, or just a "Like" for the webpage in question.
It really depends on what you use you Facebook/Google+ page as.... Is it purely for SEO purposes or is it a relationship tool?
If it is a relationship tool and you are an established brand i would suggest getting them into your circle/fanbase as this is a more longterm strategy for relationship building as well as Brand Building.
If you use your social media for purely SEO reasons, then the direct webpage would seem to make more sense.
Should a business have more followers or +1's?
Of course you would want both
but if a decision needs to be made of which one you need to decide which one will benefit you the most.... It is situational and no blanket answer can really answer this question in my opinion.w00t!

Our YouTube Channel was endorsed by a celebrity and suddenly gained 22,000 subscribers. We are now posting videos 2-3 times a week and get a lot of engagement. Each video has an average of 10,000 views. The result of this is that we get about 200 direct visits to our website every. Almost twice as much as organic traffic from Google. Thanks for all you guys do I am writing because I am trying to build a company's SEO link profile with links that have super high, and super stable Domain and Page Authorities (as well as solid Trust and Citation flows). I do this organically and even build my own sites using moz strategies - BUT, I am in need of your best advice: What are some links you can "buy" (as a result of using services from) that are strong and dofollow? Is Constant Contact good? Is Best of the Web good? tweetangels smart? I have seen several businesses with constant contact links (very high domain authority) on their profiles and as the head of business development for a mid-sized marketing firm, I want to see if constant contact, botweb, etc. are smart sources to put my clients on for the sake of the seo profile links - I am looking for strong, long-term perma-bumps for my companies and don't want to miss out on low-hanging fruit (that won't poison me in the end). Can you speak to that please? Do you guys have a list of directory links or 'whatever' links that are "get-able" by a regular guy like me that are not simply 2.0 nofollow? Thank you Ben

Is this mistake in use of 'publisher' meta tag
Hi There!, There is a confusion with 'Publisher' meta tag. Instead of using 'Google+ page' we have used Google profile pages in meta 'publisher' tag on most of pages. Currently they all are indexed. Also, in 'Author' meta tag same Google Profile page is linked. E.g. - on page - https://www.sitegeek.com/arvixe , following are the publisher and author tags: <a href="https://plus.google.com/117949772080676863960" rel="<a class="attribute-value">publisher</a>">a> <a href="https://plus.google.com/u/0/102179677098786549874/about" rel="<a class="attribute-value">author</a>"> So I am not sure how much it would effect SEO rankings. Please suggest what would the best way to update it? Further, site has its Google+ page: [https://plus.google.com/+Sitegeekcom/posts ] so it should be updated in 'publisher' tag or we should create a new Google+ page using existing Author Google+ profile. Share This Count Vs Google Analytics - Why the difference?
We use the Share This facebook & twitter widgets on blog posts. Share this auto tags it in Google Analytics so we can see share count with in the analytics interface. Viewing the blog post I see the share counts as a lot higher than google analytics reports. Does anyone know why the count would be different?

Finding google + influencers
I'm trying to sink my teeth into the power (or future power) of Google +. I would like to find people who are already well connected with Google + (in the military space). I can easily find Twitter and Facebook lists to see who is being followed and who the active users are, is there anything like that for Google +?

Focus Facebook Likes and +1 to URL or Page?
We are considering adding the +1 and facebook like widget to the footer of all our pages, but we can't decide whether to point them to our URL or to our respective Google Plus / Facebook Page. Ideally, we would prefer poiting them to our pages instead of our site URL, but I'm not so sure if we would get as much SEO advantage that way. I was looking for feedback towards the SEO advantages / disadvantages of this at what strategy you guys use. For example: Having +1 our URL would be shown to their friends at the organic results. Having +1 our page would grow our profile, allowing us to communicate with them and would also enable people search +Duplika at Google (like it happens with big brands). What do you suggest?
