What is the best choise for seasonal pages that rank after the season is over?

I am optimizing a travel website and I have a few problems. Every time I get a good rank for a particular keyword the owners take down the page because the offer is over. They also take down the category because the season is over. That is why I loose all the rankings. What is the best option in this cases and how should I guide the whole team that putts offers and new categories on the website? Would a Static sitemap be enough - I do not know what to do as moving a category from the main menu to a sitemap - another page on the website would result in loosing authority - and SERP.

Which shows, although you get more traffic in summer there is still search traffic for the rest of the year for the pages they are taking down.
This is an incentive for them to keep those pages up and for you to maintain your SEO plans.
Just an idea to try win them round to keeping the pages up.

The problem isn't really an SEO problem it's a communication problem, you need to explain the problems to your client and try to make them aware of the impact it will have on their business.
With regard to your sitemap question so long as the page is still present and accessible you should be fine (provided the information on it is kept up to date). It will lose some authority by not being visible elsewhere but it should regain that quite quickly once it is re-instated.
If you have 400 links on a page it might be time to start consolidating some of the categories into broader terms, or removing the links when they fall out of season. Don't remove the page just move the links to a less prominent location.

I would tend to avoid the 301 redirection in this case because it isn't an actual permanent redirect.
Leave the page up, make sure the content isn't misleading or confusing (no old offers, clear mentions of what year you are referring to). Point any internal links to the current relevant special offer, and cycle that process as the seasons change.
Patrick McKenzie who the man responsible for http://www.bingocardcreator.com/ has a separate domain for each season. It's overkill at this scale, but the overall process is pretty much what I described above, the pages never go away, the 'internal' links to them are simply switched out to whichever is relevant.

The problem is that if I add the category in the footer - and all the categories actually I would have too many links on my main page - I currently have 400 and the correct number would be 100.

The problem is the name of the category - in the main menu. For example we have the category: Vacation in Greece. This category is seasonal and after the summer was over the admins of the website - usually employs of the travel agency that have nothing to do with SEO, just removed it.

Leave the links to the seasonal categories in the footer, when it comes round to the season just reactivate it in the nav.

Keep the page up, but 301 redirect it to the page a customer is going to find most useful. That page may be the equivalent deal for the new season, or a page listing the current new-season deals for that destination. That way, any sites who had linked to old offers will pass their link juice to the new offer.
This way, most of the link juice is preserved and the customer is less likely to bounce.

What is the proper way to execute 'page to page redirection'
I need to redirection every page of my website to a new url of another site I've made. I intend to add:"Redirect 301 /oldpage.html http://www.example.com/newpage.html"I will use the 301 per page to redirect every page of my site, but I'm confused that if I add:"Redirect 301 / http://mt-example.com/" it will redirect all of my pages to the homepage and ignore the URLs i have separately mentioned for redirection.Please guide me.

Should my back links go to home page or internal pages
Right now we rank on page 2 for many KWs, so should i now focus my attention on getting links to my home page to build domain authority or continue to direct links to the internal pages for specific KWs? I am about to write some articles for several good ranking sites and want to know whether to link my company name (same as domain name) or KW to the home page or use individual KWs to the internal pages - I am only allowed one link per article to my site. Best way for Google and Bing not to crawl my /en default english pages
Hi Guys, I just transferred my old site to a new one and now have sub folder TLD's. My default pages from the front end and sitemap don't show /en after www.mysite.com. The only translation i have is in spanish where Google will crawl www.mysite.com/es (spanish). 1. On the SERPS of Google and Bing, every url that is crawled, shows the extra "/en" in my TLD. I find that very weird considering there is no physical /en in my urls. When i select the link it automatically redirects to it's default and natural page (no /en). All canonical tags do not show /en either, ONLY the SERPS. Should robots.txt be updated to "disallow /en"? 2. While i did a site transfer, we have altered some of the category url's in our domain. So we've had a lot of 301 redirects, but while searching specific keywords in the SERPS, the #1 ranked url shows up as our old url that redirects to a 404 page, and our newly created url shows up as #2 that goes to the correct page. Is there anyway to tell Google to stop showing our old url's in the SERP's? And would the "Fetch as Google" option in GWT be a great option to upload all of my url's so Google bots can crawl the right pages only? Direct Message me if you want real examples. Should We Add the W3.org Language Tag To Every Page Or Just The Home Page?
Greetings, We have five international sites around the world, two of which are in difference languages. Currently we have the following line of html code on the home page of each of the sites: Clearly, we need to change the "en" portion for the sites that aren't in English, but, should we include that meta tag in each of the site's pages, or will the home page suffice. Rel canonical on every page, pointing to home page
I've just started working with a client and have been surprised to find that every page of their site (using Concrete5 CMS) has a rel=canonical pointing to their home page. I'm feeling really dumb, because this seems like a fatal flaw which would keep Google from ranking any page other than the home page... but when I look at Google Analytics, Content > Site Content > Landing Pages, using Secondary Dimension = Source, it seems that Google is delivering users to numerous pages on their site. Can anyone help me out?! Thanks very much!!

Are links to on-page content crawled / have any effect on page rank?
Lets say I have a really long article that begins with links to <a name="something">anchors on the same page.</a> <a name="something"></a> <a name="something">E.g.,</a> Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc, allowing the user to scroll down to different content. There are also other links on this page that link to other pages. A few questions: Googlebot arrives on the page. Does it crawl links that point to anchors on the same page? When link juice is divided among all the links on the page, do these links count and page rank is then lost? Thanks!
