Title case or lower can URL folders
-
Is it best to have lower case URLs e.g
mydomain.com/hotels-in-london/
or title case like
mydomain.com/Hotels-In-London/
I noticed in the seomoz tools that it would report the above two URLs as duplicate if the site had two links using pointing to each URL

No a custom written CMS, so it should be fairly easy to code.
-
If your CMS doesn't do it then you'll need a rewrite rule, but I'd recommend that you try and sort out the CMS in the first instance.
Are you using a common CMS?
-
How do you enforce a lower cased URL ? Use canonical tag ?
-
Barry is correct, lower case is best.
lower and upper are diffecne urls a coanonical issue.
-
Lowercase, every time.

Where can I install a blog (not on the domain I'm optimising) which will help my search rankings?
I've got my hands tied, and I cannot install a blog like Wordpress on the domain I'm optimising. My question is, where then, would the next best place be? I've heard stories about subdomains being completely useless for affecting SEO of the root domain, and so anything external would probably have the same effect, correct? Would love to hear what some of you do in these situations. Cheers!

URL loss
Hi, Our site contains some subsites in subdirectories. One of these sites, joins content from our partners' blogs. Now we have about 51.900 results on Google for this subsite. We are thinking about change the format of this subsite, but we are worried about the number of URL's that will be lost. The question is, the search machines will "punish" us for these losses and affect all domain ? Regards, Juan Santos

Leap of Faith - Damm the consequences - Title Tag Change
the crazy things we do mid week. But after reading Cyrus' post on beating Panda I went back to my website design site http://www.grangewebdesign.com which I had set up a plugin which had all my posts setup as Website Design - %%title%% So basically every Title tag had Website Design in front of it. REadingthis post now it suggests that this is bad practice so I just changed it to %%title%% which now of course means that I should perhaps look more closely at the titees I have been using. Was embedding the Website Design in front of the post overkill? thoughts appreciated...
