Duplicate page content and search in Magento
-
Hi all, Firstly, I am a business owner and not a SEO genuis but I work on my site and am learning how to "tweek" everyday. That said, my site www.vintagetimes.com.au needs a bit more than a tweek. Here is problem 1: I have massive duplicate page content which is being driven primarily by search and I'm not sure how to tackle the issue. Working in Magento. Could anybody give me an instruction on how to steer robots away from search results? I would also like to know WHY a search result is here as well? Example of about 20 pages of this type of result:
|
Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times
http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times
http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times
http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=created_at&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times
http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=metal&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times

I have the same problem and was just searching to find the answer.
Can anyone help?
If you change the robot file to no -index will this not affect the crawling of the pages?
Thanks in advance

I believe the correct approach is using "no-index, follow" with robots in the search pages. Not sure how to do that, though...

Missing/Duplicate Content but it's definitely all right!

Title: http://bit.ly/2P6v9To Description: http://bit.ly/356BkvY H1: http://bit.ly/2PrlmpU Canonical tag: http://bit.ly/355rQRU Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Duplicate title on Crawl
Ok, this should hopefully be a simple one. Not sure if this is a Moz crawl issue of redirect issue. Moz is reporting duplicate title for www.site.co.uk , site.co.uk and www.site.co.uk/home.aspx is this a canonical change or a moz setting I need to get this number lower.

Tags on my website cause duplicate content
Hi I just recently started a website and I am new to MOZ pro. What Moz pro detected on my website under high priority is that "duplicate page content" and what I realize about these duplicate page content is regarding the tags i put on my post. Because it is a wordpress blog, we are allow to add tags on the side before we publish our post. And because of these tags, it linked to the same page but different url. for example website.com/tags/whatever website.com/tags/whatever 2 and both these url direct to the same page So how do i solve this? do i just stop tagging whenever i write a post? delete all tags while it is not necessary? i seen method like 301 redirect or rel=canonical but is there anyway to solve this problem so I do not face this issue whenever i make a new post in my blog? I mean it doesnt make sense to redirect 301 to every single tags i have whenever i write a new post right? thanks guys

Duplicate Content
Crawl Diagnostics is returning duplicate content/title tags for every product image on listing pages of my classified site because each image is on a separate url. So this page, for example, http://marketplace.myclassicgarage.com/cars/all/Chevrolet-Bel-Air/24481/ has, among other things, the same title tag as all this page, http://marketplace.myclassicgarage.com/cars/all/Chevrolet-Bel-Air/24481/media/151968 which is one of many different images that are all child pages in the folder /media In this particular case there are over 140 pages with the same title tag because there are over 140 images for this particular car. That is just one listing and there are over 1,000 listings (vehicles) and that number will grow. Is this really a problem? With limited resources, what real positive effect will making all these images have unique title tags really have from a SERP perspective? Keep in mind this being user generated content, there is no way to descriptively update the title tags to something like <title>Bel Air Passenger Side Profile</title>. That is not feasible.

Error on duplicated content, but when checking shouldn't been possible
Dear all, Every week I look at the different crawl reports for our website, since the start of my SeoMoz membership the Errors for duplicated content and duplicated Title is rising. But if I take out the .csv file and look in more detail, and select a pages which is marked as duplicated content, a canonical is actually existing on this page. So it shouldn't be an warning, I have no idea what the issue could be. For example pagesare marked as duplicated content, <colgroup><col width="966"></colgroup>

| http://www.zylom.com/es/descargar-juegos/3-en-raya/?startnumber=80&sortby=2 | the parameters after '?' (question mark) are necessary for our internal system. To overcome duplicated content we coded that a canonical tag onis placed on every page with parameters and the main page is http://www.zylom.com/es/descargar-juegos/3-en-raya/ but it doesn't seem to work, because my error warnings are still rising. Please advice me Kind regards, Ms Letty van Eembergen0 -

On Page Optimization Reports - Huh?
I've been working hard to use this EXCELLENT tool for optimize some of what I consider my most important pages . . . But the automatic tool that pulls pages and grades them (the "summary" of the "on page" report) . . . I don't get it. It only graded three of my pages, and I don't understand how it chose what keywords to grade it for? I'm just very confused. I don't understand how it chose the pages to grade, not the words it chose to grade it against. 😞
