Content placement

Does content placement on a page have any effect, bring up top as opposed to bottom as opposed to embedded within?
On my product detail page it comes up last after image, social section and add to cart

Hi there,
The nearer to the beginning of a page that content appears, the more prominence and perceived importance it has.
It's always a fine balancing act between User Experience, Core Messaging and SEO. If in doubt, do what's best for the user experience (pretty images often don't have the desired result) then cater for Search afterwards.
You may find a blog post here on SEOmoz from yesterday a worthwhile read, it's very long but worth the time. It's entitled "Just How Smart Are Search Robots?" and highlights towards the end just how important User Experience is and the content that appears above the fold.
So yes, it is believed that content placement does matter, both for user experience and for search. I'd suggest ensuring that your core messaging and most important content for each page is above the fold, whilst also ensuring that the user experience is a pleasant and easy one.
Hope that helps,
Regards
Simon

Reusing content on different ccTLDs
We have a client with many international locations, each of which has their own ccTLD domain and website. Eg company-name.com, company-name.com.au, company-name.co.uk, company-name.fr, etc. Each domain/website only targets their own country, and the SEO aim is for each site to only rank well within their own country. We work for an individual country's operations, and the international head office wants to re-use our content on other countries' websites. While there would likely be some optimsation of the content for each region, there may be cases where it is re-used identically. We are concerned that this will cause duplicate content issues. I've read that the separate ccTLDs should indicate to search engines that content is aimed at the different locations - is this sufficient or should we be doing anything extra to avoid duplicate content penalties? Or should we argue that they simply must not do this at all and develop unique content for each? Thanks Julian

Need suggestion to place longer content on products category page
Hi All, I wanted to place longer content on products category page, Currenty I am showing product listing first and then small description at the end of listing.I don't want to add longer content either bottom or top. I want to make two tabs at the top of each category pages like Products | Informtion In Product section (after clicking on it) I want to display all products listing & in Information tab (after clicking on it) 2-3 paragraphs of webpage content but I'm afraid If I will place the content in this way Google won't index content and my purpose of adding webpage content to target long tail keywords won't fulfill. Please suggest me if you have any better idea & let me know what I am going to do would be good or not in SEO perspective. Thanks

Reposting My Original Content
I wanted to know how I should repost my original content from my blog to other sites, obviously quality ones and legacy style content. I don't want get hit with any duplicate content or spam type penalties, but want to further spread some of my content from my blog to get it noticed and drive traffic and leads. Do I submit the posts as is, then put a link to the original source and if so, how many sites can i safely repost the same piece of content too? I am not trying to do anything sneaky, just want it to spread my best content to a good amount high authority sites. I already do social bookmarking and Facebook, twitter etc.

What are the best widgets to use on Wordpress? And what is most useful on Wordpress for content syndication?
We are in the process of researching the best plugins and widgets for our clients' blogs. It appears that SEO by Yoast is most popular for 2013 so far. Any recommendations on which widgets we should be using or plugins for content syndication? If we use something like the Jetpack plugin, would this do the trick?

Can having similar content on my company's two sites hurt our rankings?
We have a very successful website that has been up for a number of years (www.comellaortho.com). We rank high in the natural rankings for that site. A few months ago, we started seeing patients in another nearby city. I purchased a new domain name, www.dansvilleortho.com, and had our web company duplicate the website under the new domain name. The reality is that the content on these two sites are nearly identical. Some of the pages are different; for example, there are fewer pages on the new site. But the pages that do exist are nearly identical. My question is: Can having similar content on my company's two sites hurt our rankings? Based on what I've read thus far, I believe the answer is "Yes". However, I'm curious how bad this may hurt us. I'm not as worried about the new site (dansvilleortho.com) because our competition in that city is slim to none. But I AM worried about harming the original site/business (comellaortho.com). Which site(s) rankings may be affected by this, and if so, how bad? Thank you.

Duplicate content?
I am not understanding this - I see a duplicate content warning. When I look into it I see these two urls: http;//search-engine-upgrade.com http;//search-engine-upgrade.com/default.asp (NOT a blog)
