Spam to site with GMail addresses - any way to resolve.
-
We are noticing more and more spam around: Customer Name: Sylvia Abernathy Customer Email: sylviaa386@gmail.com Customer Phone Number: Service Type Requested: Please Choose From List Service description: We found your weblisting on one of the back pages of Google. Wouldn’t you rather be up front? Our experts in Search Engine Optimization can help you become more visible and more productive. A quick email will get you details. This is from a site around auto and truck service and is an actual cut and paste. My question is twofold: Is there a way to report individual Gmail addresses to Google as purveyors of spam and beyond a capcha, is there any other work around? This is form to schedule a service appt. so they are not emailing to an info@etc.com type address. It is a contact form. Thanks

Or, at least some type of mega worm that goes into their computers and flashes pictures of unicorns and pandas....
Any coders out there who are into retribution??????

Thanks Jeffrey,
I will let you know how it goes from there. We use Captchas, but these (I think) are "seo" firms out of the US. I often send them email in return and never get a response. Unfortunately, it always bugs the client to get them. My wife is in real estate and she never fails to forward them with a note...... "They can get me #1 on Google!!!" =0

Hey Robert,
I'm still waiting for that app that allows me to respond with a great big hand that comes out of their screen, grabs them by the shirt and bangs their head against the monitor! 8D
Unfortunately it seems a long time in coming.

There's a form here for reporting spammy Gmail addresses to Google. I'm not sure how responsive they are or how well this works: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=abuse I've had a lot of luck with captchas in the past for reducing spam. But if an actual person is filling in your form and sending you spam, this obviously won't help. I've seen blog sites with a checkbox to "confirm you are a human" which can supposedly stave off automated captcha readers.

Is there a way to drill down on Facebook Audience's interests AFTER ad has run?
Howdy, folks. So, Everyone knows that we can create custom Facebook audience with all the filters, interests and behaviors and see what audience "consist of" in FB audience insights. That's all nice and dandy, but here is my situation: So, I "build" the audience the best way I can, run the ad, have, let's say average results. Theoretically (especially if audience is broad), I would be able to get better results if I was able to see which segment (by interests or behaviors) of targeted audience performed best. And then run another ad to narrowed down audience. But, as far as I understand and know, there is no way to do that. FB reporting only provides breakdowns on age, gender, location, devices and couple more things. So, is there way to get that data? P.S. If I'm still confusing, here are couple examples: I run ad for audience who have interest in football OR meat OR potatoes (let's say because I sell meat and potatoes dish for football players :D). So, is there way for me to find out which interest group performed best without running three separate a/b/c test campaigns (imagine if i have 20 "OR" interests)? I run ad for audience of male, between 22-44 age. Is there way to find out which interests group in this audience performed best?

Will hreflang indication help single language site?
I have read a few articles that say indicating a language per webpage with hreflang really only helps sites that use multiple languages. Although my site is only in English, I see that it is ranking for a few foreign language keywords in Google Search Console (not sure exact traffic but roughly 15% of visitors from Search are non English preferred). My thought is that indicating language will help my single-language site because it will weed out the non-english speakers who are probably bouncing from the site. Overall I am thinking it might improve the quality of my search traffic. Do you think my logic is sound, or is adding hreflang not beneficial to my site? All feedback welcomed. Thanks!

Can using the Google Keywords tool and/or SEOmoz cause problems for my company's IP address?
I just started with a company a few weeks back, working on-site doing SEO work. I've been using SEOmoz as well as Google Adwords' Keywords tool. I just got a message from one of our reps saying that people at the office (and this is a huge office) have reported tons of CAPTCHAs being thrown up frequently. I told them I had been running searches with Google Keywords tool and SEOmoz, but would that really cause that much of a problem? Is there anything I can do in order to fix this, some keyword finders that won't get me in trouble, etc.?

Is being listed in the McAfee Directory and displaying a McAfee Secure logo on your site worthwhile?
I am trying to decide whether or not to renew a plan with McAfee Secure. My initial thought was that displaying the logo was not worth the cost, and that I would be able to establish the same consumer confidence with a seal from Authorize.net. Does anyone have an opinion on display the McAfee Secure seal and/or being listed in the McAfee directory.

Is there a way to track who clicks on these links?
At the bottom of my single page posts, I have some related posts. I'd like to set up some sort of GA tracking that lets me know how many people are actually clicking on those links. Anyone know if there is a way to do this? Thanks!
