Google Said "Repeat the search with the omitted results included."
-
We have some pages targeting the different countries but with the Near to Similar content/products, just distinguished with the country name etc.
one of the page was assigned to me for optimizing. two or three Similar pages are ranked with in top 50 for the main keyword. I updated some on page content to make it more distinguish from others. After some link building, I found that this page still not showing in Google result, even I found the following message on the google.
"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 698 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."I clicked to repeat omitted result and found that my targeted url on 450th place in google (before link building this was not)
My questions are
Is google consider this page low quality or duplicate content?
Is there any role of internal linking to give importance a page on other (when they are near to similar)?
Like these pages can hurt the whole site rankings?
How to handle this issue?

Let me try the Alan advice for this issue and I will update the board.
Thanks Devin your detailed answer, it will help me to handle other low quality pages.

Hi,
If your page is ranked 450th in Google that could mean a variety of different things; Google considers the page to be low quality content, duplicate content, it has an algorithmic penalty, it's not authoritative enough, or else it's simply irrelevant to the search phrase you're attempting to rank for.
It would be hard to say exactly what the problem is without seeing the page, but from what you say it sounds like a duplicate content issue. If this is one of a large number of duplicate pages then that could also contribute to Google's perception of your site as being low quality.
There are a few things you can do to try and correct the issue:
If you have 3 different pages each selling the same boots to three different places.. eg "Leather boots London".. "Leather Boots Los Angeles" and "Leather Boots NY" - then, like you suggested, you will need more than a change of place names to distinguish between the pages.
Try changing more on the page. Meta Titles, Meta Descriptions, Alt Tags & titles on images & unique copy - the longer the copy the greater the opportunity you will have to make it unique.
Linking between pages on your own site with descriptive anchor text is very important for helping Google to identify what the pages are about. Have a look at your site as a whole and have a think about your deep linking strategy.
Finally, Rel=canonicle or 301 redirect any similar or duplicate pages which you do not intend to correct and do not intend to rank with.
Alternatively, to try and determine if it's a separate, low quality issue, ask some of these questions:
How many ads are on the page? How many hyperlinks are on the page? Does the page look spammy - spelling mistakes, weird grammar? How long is the copy - substantial and factual or brief and lacking any specific detail?
However, the page being of low quality does not rule out the possibility of a duplicate content problem.
EDIT: If it's a Dup Content issue then what Alan said would be a far simpler solution!

You can get around this problem using meta tags.
see this link, what will happen is they will try to prese nt a different page depending on the country someone is searching in. in short only one page will rank in each country

Short description about our search results drop + forum moving to subdomain question.
Hello, here is our story. Our niche is mental health (psychology, psychotherapy e.t.c). Our portal has thousand of genuine articles, news section about mental health, researches, job findings for specialists, a specialized bookstore only with psychology books, the best forum in country, we thousands of active members and selfhelp topics etc. In our country (non english), our portal has been established in 2003. Since then, for more than 15 years, we were no 1 in our country, meaning that we had the best brand name, hundreds of external authors writing unique content for our portal and hundreds of no1 keywords in google search results. Actually, we had according to webmaster tools, more than 1.000 keywords, in 1 and 2 position. (we were ranking no1 in all the best keywords). Before 2 years, we purchased the best domain in our niche. I ll use the below example (of course, domains are not the real ones):

We had: e-pizza.com and now we have: pizza.com
We did the appropriate redirects but from day one, we had around 20-30% drop in search engines. After 6 months -which is something that google officialy mentions, we lost all "credits from the old domain.. .and at that point, we had another 20-30% drop in search results. Further more, in any google core update, we were keep dropping. Especially in last May (coronovirus update), we had another huge drop. We do follow seo guides, we have a dedicated server, good load speed, well structured data, amp, a great presence in social media, with more than 130.000 followers, etc. According to our investigation, we came to one only conclusion: that our forum, kills our seo (of course, noone in our team can guarantee that this is the actual reason of the uge drop in may-in coronovirus google core update). We believe that the forum kills our seo, because it produces low quality posts by members. For example, psychopharmacology in a very active sections and we believe, google is very "sensitive" in these kind of posts and information. So here is the question: although the forum is very very active, with thousands of new topics and posts every month, we are thinking of moving it to a subdomain, from the subfolder that now is.
This will help our domain authority to increase from 38 that is stuck 2 years now, to larger scales. We believe that althougth this forum gave a great boost to the portal, in the past 10-15 years, it somehow makes a negative impact now. If I could give more spesific details, I d say this: in all seo tools we run, the best kewwords bringing visitors to us, arent anymore, psychology and psychotherapy and mental health and this kind of top-keywords, but are mostly the ones from the forum, like: I want to proceed with a suicide, I m taking efexor or xanax and they have side effects, why i gain wieght with the antidepressants I get etc. 1. Moving our forum to subdomain, will be some kind of pain, since it is a large community, with thousands of backlinks that we somehow must handle in a proper way, also with a mobile application, things that will have to change and probably have some kind of negative impact. Would that be according to your knowledge a correct move and our E-A-T will benefit for google, or since google will know that the subdomain is still part of the same website/portal, it will handle it somehow, the same way as it does now? I have read hundreds of articles about forum in subdomains or in subfolders, but none of them covers a case stydy like ours, since most articles are talking about new forums and what is the best way to handle them and where is the best place to create them (in subfolder of subdomain) when from scratch. Looking forward to your answers.0 -
My url disappeared from Google but Search Console shows indexed. This url has been indexed for more than a year. Please help!
Super weird problem that I can't solve for last 5 hours. One of my urls: https://www.dcacar.com/lax-car-service.html Has been indexed for more than a year and also has an AMP version, few hours ago I realized that it had disappeared from serps. We were ranking on page 1 for several key terms. When I perform a search "site:dcacar.com " the url is no where to be found on all 5 pages. But when I check my Google Console it shows as indexed I requested to index again but nothing changed. All other 50 or so urls are not effected at all, this is the only url that has gone missing can someone solve this mystery for me please. Thanks a lot in advance.

Can an "Event" in Structured Data For Google Be A Webinar?
I have a client who is has structured data for live business webinars. Google's documentation seems to talk more about music and tickets than this kind of thing. At the same time, we get an error in search console for "Name" and location, which they list as "webinar." Should I removed this failed structured data attempt or is there a way to fix it? Thanks!

Does my website have an Exact Match Domain or a "brand"?
I'd like to get some input from the Moz community about the domain name I use on a travel website I run as a hobby. I got heavily whacked by an update in September 2012 which some have said was because my site is an EMD. Others said it was because I had poor quality backlinks (but in fact I hardly had any). With the benefit of hindsight, I'd love to know what really happened. The website is www.traveltipsthailand.com (now www.asiantraveltips.com) and the "brand" I use is "Travel Tips Thailand. The traffic penalty I incurred was around 80% and despite a LOT of work overhauling the site and trying to build some better quality links, I don't believe it has really recovered much. It ranks for non-competitive, low-traffic key phrases (which means it's not penalised as such), but struggles to rank anywhere meaningful on any phrase likely to drive traffic to the site. At this stage I really just want to know whether to persist with the site (it's heartbreaking, to be honest) or drop it an build something new from scratch. I monitor the site's progress using Moz Pro, so I can see all the search ranking, authority and backlink data. 5254ab15dcaa91-52423790

To index search results or to not index search results?
What are your feelings about indexing search results? I know big brands can get away with it (yelp, ebay, etc). Apart from UGC, it seems like one of the best ways to capture long tail traffic at scale. If the search results offer valuable / engaging content, would you give it a go?
