Hello Mozzers,
I just logged into my account and after what has felt like a few months of on site work I finally see ZERO errors across the board for my main campaign with SEO Moz!
I just wanted to share that with everyone because at one point above the errors were in the 5,000 range. It was causing penalties and weight in serps, but now thanks to SEO Moz and the help that I have received in the Q&A section, I have corrected all the errors!
So, thank you to SEOMOZ and the pro community very very much!!!
As a discussion though, how are the errors with most other users? Are you typically always seeing no errors, a few errors or a lot of errors for your campaigns?

I'm at the 18,000 mark with mine
(Actually much lower because of Title and Body being counted separately)We have 10+ matches of each Make/Model of new vehicles, a finance page for each of those vehicles (going away soon), a test drive page for each of those vehicles (going away soon), request more info page for each of those vehicles (going away soon), as well as some other random duplicates. It's been a process to convince the developer to do any of it...

Will definitely do. This site was using ExpressionEngine as the CMS and it needed some serious in house cleaning done. Especially with 404 redirects and meta tags. My main errors with Google and SEOMoz were the duplicate descriptions, urls and meta data. Wordpress probably wouldn't have had these errors, but since the site was custom built there were some minor, but major misplaced and forgotten lines of code in the .htaccess and header files.
I'll update here if I start to see serp movement.

Yes Jesse, please keep us posted on significant rank changes. To my (and others) chagrin, I use a CMS that produces some pollution. Don't know if I could do house cleaning on it even if I wanted to, but I'm definitely interested in the measurable impact.

Thanks EGOL! There have been some improvements to keywords, but nothing that jumps out at me right now. Just the sort of typical fluctuation. Hopefully, I'll start to see some larger jumps soon..

My question is regarding my current learning of SEO and keyword research. I have been leaning towards Keyword Everywhere, SEMrush, and Google Keyword Planner for keyword research. Question about SEOMoz Pro and Root Domain vs. Subdomain tracking
I currently have two Pro campaigns set up. They are both tracking the root domains of two different e-commerce sites. I also am tracking three competitors for each company, in each campaign. I have those set up by subdomains, like so www.Competitor.com. So in my Historical link analysis I am getting MyRootDomain.com, compared to www.competitor1.com, www.competitor2.com and www.competitor3.com Is this a problem? Would it be better for me to switch my company campaigns to track subdomains too, or to switch my competitor tracking to root domains. This is probably pretty rudimentary, but it never even occurred to me until just now. I realize that if I switch to subdomains for my own company tracking this would necessitate setting up a completely new campaign. This would be a problem because I am maxed out on my 1,000 keywords. Last but not least, does the fact that I have been tracking my own site root domains compared to competitors subdomains mean all of my competitive domain and link analysis is, well, garbage?...because I haven't really been comparing the same things?

SEO-Experts help answer my newbie questions!
Hello! Thanks for coming to my rescue; I really appreciate it. I am a newbie at SEO and I still haven't got the full picture of everything in my mind that covers linkbuiling, on page optimization, domain names, website creating, etc. I've really pretty much all the available guides on WarriorForum and BHW without much help on the topics above since most of the information was either provided by some person who didn't know what they were talking about, the information was outdated, or I didn't know what they meant. I have so many questions that I hope some SEO-Expert could answer my newbie questions so that I won't get penalized for my two sites that I currently own. One of them was slapped by Yahoo!, Bing, AOL, and most other search engines with the exception of Google (It's only a matter of time of course). The other site I own is in the making currently without much on-page optimization. Before I start doing some on-page depletion t to my two sites so they both get de-indexed and such because of keyword stuffing, fail link building, and other factors, I wanted to cover the problems I currently have about SEO and this site. 1) Using the SEO-MOZ 'keyword analysis tool', what is the ideal percentage difficulty a newbie like me could take easily with just a few links here and there including 5 posts/pages of great content? (I usually only write 5 posts that cover 500+ words each). 2) Do I need hosting to become successful or to get more on-page optimization for my websites? I currently use Go-Daddy forwarding with masking so that when my site shows up in google the content comes from blogger. 3) What is "Self Cannibalization"? I ALWAYS get that error for both my sites when I use the 'on page optimzation tool' from SEO-MOZ. 4) Using Blogger, What exactly are labels and does using this add any SEO value to my website? 5) I've read so many damn articles about ALT text and Title text for blogger; nothing explained what I put in it though. What am I supposed to put in it that will help me with my on page optimization? (Stuff like do I use spaces or dashes, do I put my keyword in there, how many characters should I not exceed, do I put one word or two words?) 6) On my website, I 'accidentally' didn't know that copy and pasting images from paint straight to blogger would be a bad idea because in the html I saw it was f'ed up because there was literally random characters everywhere for the file name. Since my site is a tutorial site, I have over 50+ images in all my posts combined that I've copied and pasted from paint.exe to the Blogger post. Should I reupload all of them to blogger or keep it the way it is? Will I be penalized for this or nothing would happen? Is there a benefit to fixing it? 7) For a new website that is less than 1 week old, when can I start building backlinks? If I can start building backlinks now, what is the ideal number per day that I should create? 😎 Does post every single page or post of content I have on my website to other Web 2.0s like Squidoo, Wordpress, or Blog penalize my website for duplicate content or what? If I do this, does it give me any SEO benefit? 9) How much stronger is a .gov backlink than a .edu backlink? How much stronger are both of those compared to a regular extension backlink? 10) If I am building backlinks, should I link just my main home page URL or all internal URLs to? 11) I see several people that build backlinks to other websites by typing in a comment and throwing their link in there. Like question 10, should I post ALL the links to my website (Internal + Home) or just my main page link? 12) What is better; .com, .net, or .org? What about .info, .us, and .biz in terms of SEO benefit? 13) I have several pages on my site in which Google indexed them and I deleted the post. Now when I search my site on Google and I click on the link to the post, it is pretty much a 'dead link' because the post cannot be found. Does this harm my site in any way, and how can I take these dead pages off? 14) One of my sites is already indexed by Google but not Yahoo! What should I do to get my site indexed? Campaign Reports Question
Hello everyone. I'm new to SEOMOZ and sort of a beginner with this SEO stuff but this does seem like the place to be to learn things. I spent quite a bit of time reading the blogs and found them very helpful - including everyone's comments. I'm not sure what to make of a couple of my campaign reports. I'm going through my campaign reports and have a few questions. I guess the easy way is to break this down. Question 1: Crawl Errors: I"m getting duplicate content/page errors for the following pages. http://www.njsigncrafters.com and http://www.njsigncrafters.com/index.php Am I losing a bit of google points because of this and do I fix it by using a redirect? Question 2: When I look at my on-page analysis I'm getting grades of A-F. I'm figuring maybe I should have some recommendations about what to do but SEOMOZ gives me a grade and then leaves it at that. Besides reviewing my on-page factors am I missing something simple that I"m supposed to click on to see recommendations? I suppose once I get used to the way things work I'll get this SEOMOZ site figured out.

I have a blog linked to my web page.& when rogerbot crawls my website it considers tags for my blog pages duplicate content.is there any way I can fix this? Thanks for your advice.

What do I really need
Hello all. I’m new to this SEO stuff and after reading much, remain very, very confused as to what I really need. First, I’ll say I’m here because I have been impressed with the posts and the general professional approach that seem to exist on Seomoz. My problem is that I run a small business that’s not doing so well and I do know that my website needs to be found. With this being the case I contacted an SEO company and on being given a price for 12 months of service, almost feel of my chair as this would clear me out. This, without any guarantee. Due to the above I am now considering having a go at the SEO myself. However, this leads to another problem in that, given it appears I need so many online services, it again becomes very expensive for one man and his single website. I have seen much written about Seomoz, Raven (something I’m trying now), Seospyglass and Seo Powersuite (a few reports appear bad) and between these and other possibly lesser well known brands leaves me wondering what I need to achieve improved website visibility. Does not one product exist that can help the smaller business without breaking the bank, and if not, what might be the best approach to tackle this problems cost effectively. I am aware that Seomoz has it’s followers, but having said this, it appears that a good degree of openness and honesty is provided here. Your comments would be most appreciated.

Seomoz research tools question for inbound links
What is the best seomoz tool and or indicator within a tool for checking on a link (directory or article site) to evaluate whether or not you would actaully want a link from them? Any way to see if google penalizes them for there tactics or if that can hurt me by them linking to me or whatever? I am at the beginning of a link building mission, but want to ensure that I do it methodically and correctly as possible based on the combines wisdom of this community. Thanks for your help, Steven
