Website is extreemly slow
-
A couple of days a go one of our websites became extreemly slow. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but frankly i don't where else to ask it
Our hosting provider mentioned it was a socket exploid but even after removing all the infected files we are still running into a strange wait time of 45 seconds (See attachements) This has mayor efects on the SEO as well
the link is www[dot]schouw[dot]org
Hopefully there is someone how can help me out

Thanks for you answer i'm going to talk to the hosting company!

Your problem lies between the request and the responce, so it looks like Adam was correct, its code or server.
If you have access to the server have a look at task manager to see what if anything is using the CPU.
I just checked another 3 websites on the same server and they are also slow, so its not the code, its the server.
Is it your server?
if not then complain to the hosting company, dont take any nonsence from them as other websites on the same server are timing out -
Well, it's probably either the code on your website or the server.
If it's the code, a good programmer can help you find and fix the issue.
If it's the server, your hosting company should fix it...if not, switch hosts.
Without access to your site, I don't have many more suggestions.

I took a quick look and didn't see anything major. I would say from my personal experience if you had some hack activity there maybe something left on your server that is still causing issues.
That said I use:
https://developers.google.com/pagespeed
To test sites and get suggestions on what to fix.

https:// What is the best way to redirect without losing seo positions? i have been mainly using http://www but have recently added my ssl so https works also. I heard at Moz Con that I should get the https working. All of my marketing and ads are going to http://www 301 redirect 3 of them? Which 3? If https is becoming important, should that be my main url? will it hurt my seo to switch? Thank you so much in advance!0 -
My New Pages Are Really Slow to Index Lately - Are Yours Slow Too ?
New pages on my site usually shoot right into the index - often in under 24 hours. Lately they are taking weeks to get into the index. Are your new pages slow to index lately? Thanks for anything that you can report.

Redirects for new website
Hi Moz community,
Technical SEO | | JSimmons17
I'm a fairly new SEO Specialist with a brand new website. We initially had a very basic holding website until the fully functional website was completed. I have to do some redirects as we have both .html and .php files & we don't want to lose SEO value for specific pages (like the index, news, etc). I also want to redirect from a www url to a non-www url. I am trying to accomplish redirects with the following code: RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.mywebsite.com [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) http://mywebsite.com/$1 [R=301,L] RedirectMatch 301 /index.html (.*).(php|html) http://mywebsite.com/index.php RedirectMatch 301 /cupcakes-slideshow/glutenfree-slideshow.html (.*).(php|html) http://mywebsite.com/gluten-and-glutenfree.php RedirectMatch 301 /press.html (.*).(php|html) http://mywebsite.com/news-and-reviews.php Please let me know if I am on the right track. Thanks so much in advance!0 -

Website credits for designers - good or bad
Hi My core service is web design and development. I often place a credit on my clients websites pointing them back to my web design or web development pages. Is this a wise practice with penguin and panda updates? Would this also pull my ranking down?

301 redirect to new website
We are migrating to a new website that will be using entirely new URLs under the same domain as the old website. The old website is a custom PHP script and the new website uses Drupal. I know that I should use individual 301 redirects to the corresponding new pages. My question is just how to set up the hundreds of 301 redirects from the old website to the new one? Here is the process I've come up with. Please let me know if there is an easier and better way for this. Before actually changing to the new website: download an advanced report with all pages on this domain from OSE. Find corresponding pages on the new website Make the hundreds of 301 redirect lines in an .htaccess file with the following code: redirect 301 /oldurl.html http://domain.com/the-full-url Thanks in advance for your help!
