Schema.org : reviewCount & ratingValue - best practices for implementation?
-
I'd like to add our merchant review count and rating to our site and use the schema.org markup to indicate to the search engines what these are. The reason I'd like to do this is so that the star rating pulls through to the organic listing.
Check out this example from several UK tight sites. Notice how the organic listings display the star rating...
My questions are:
-
Has anyone seen an example of this from Google.com (US site)
-
I heard that you should only add this markup to the homepape - but couldn't find any Google documentation to back this up. Do you know if this can be applied throughout the site w/o penalty?
Thanks everyone!

Thanks Zkwarta. We're looking to specifically pull in our Merchant Rating from Google Product Search. Good to hear that the university ratings are working well for you. Cool site!
-
Sure, check out my site, cappex.com. We have reviews and ratings on many colleges within the US - many of them showing the review schema in the SERPS. For example - type in "cappex depaul university", or "cappex SUNY fredonia reviews" and you'll see what I mean.
No penalties on our end, and no limitation to just put it on the HP (In fact I've never heard about the markup only on the homepage...sounds a bit funky to me if you are reviewing a whole bunch of things...).

What's best practice for blog meta titles?
I have the option of placing meta titles on the actual blog, or on the blog category on my site. Should I have separate meta titles for each blog or bundle them under a category and try to drive traffic to the category? Can anyone help with best practice?

Backlink density & disavow tool
I am cleaning up my backlink profile for www.devoted2vintage.co.uk but before I start removing links I wanted some advice on the following: I currently have over 2000 backlinks from about 200 domains. Is this a healthy ratio or should I prune this? Is there a recommended max number of backlings per domain? Should I delete links to all or some of the spun PR articles (some of the article web pages have over 40 articles with links back to us)

In China there are 2 commonly used tlds .cn and .com.cn. We own both versions for a new domain. Does anyone know if there is research done which one is the best TLD "in the eyes" of the search engines Baidu and Google? Or maybe there is a methodology to select the best? Thanks!

Your opinion on using the markup from schema.org
I am attending SMXEast and one of the speakers is strongly encouraging to use the markup from schema.org. Does anyone have experience with the markup from schema.org and were you able to track any outcome in the search rankings based on adding this markup?
