How "Optimised" is my home page content
-
Good afternoon from 1 degrees C overcast frozen wetherby UK...
I've made a number of on page html markup changes to optimise the page for steel suppliers steel stockholders but I'd like to know if there are any other on page improvments I could make for this page http://www.barrettsteel.com/
Im particulary concerned that contnet in in li tags and not p, could this be an issue?
And finaaly on the home page a third party developer has slapped a header banner pointing to an external site know as woodberry tools, that cant be good can it?
Any insights welcome

I should have been more specific. While the social icon buttons should be present, you should also include the open graph protocol on the site.

Dan1el he was referencing adding social networking code to site.. Ie share on facebook, retweet, +1 google, +1 facebook..blah blah blah.
Personally given his industry, I'm not sure how many people are going to around +1'ing a Steel Supplier, but I'm a little hard headed when it comes to social networking.

Hi Nightwing,
Site looks good,
If you could slip another 1 or 2 instances of steel suppliers in there, and personally I'd also try for the long tail keyword _UK steel supplier_s. Though your company does look like a global company, in the US I would certainly type US steel suppliers before relying on a global supplier but that maybe irrelevant as I"m not in your industry, just a thought.
The banner you referenced takes me to a site with the Barrett steel logo so that makes sense if they are distributor, I would rather that it was opened in a new window / tab then moving the user off your site. It also appears to be the same template they you are using.
Overall I think it looks very good.

Sorry to jump in here! can you tell me a little more about the social code, how does it work, where can I get it?
Cheers
Daniel

First off, great looking site!
I wouldn't worry about the li tags vs the p tag - quality content will always trump any display issues.
The banner is of great concern since that is what I was tempted to click on first, thinking it would lead me to more information on your site. I noticed that you don't get a navigation option until the images for your content appears in the banner. If possible, you should really push for that same treatment for the starting image of the banner.
The only other suggestion would be to include some social code (open graph) so that you can get some link love from FB!
Hope this helps!

Page Indexing without content
Hello. I have a problem of page indexing without content. I have website in 3 different languages and 2 of the pages are indexing just fine, but one language page (the most important one) is indexing without content. When searching using site: page comes up, but when searching unique keywords for which I should rank 100% nothing comes up. This page was indexing just fine and the problem arose couple of days ago after google update finished. Looking further, the problem is language related and every page in the given language that is newly indexed has this problem, while pages that were last crawled around one week ago are just fine. Has anyone ran into this type of problem?

Email and landing page duplicate content issue?
Hi Mozers, my question is, if there is a web based email that goes to subscribers, then if they click on a link it lands on a Wordpress page with very similar content, will Google penalize us for duplicate content? If so is the best workaround to make the email no index no follow? Thanks!

http://www.website.co.uk/news/archive/2015/01 (Jan) I am wondering if there's a duplicate issue here or not given that I also articles by month as well and if so how best I handle this.? I already do pagination on my news pages (page 1 , page 2) by using rel=next and rel=Prev but I don't have an canconical or anything as yet. I enclose a couple of links if this would help and would appreciate if someone could take a browse. I have a View All link on my homepage for for all news items - http://goo.gl/JPPIvQ I which have a different urls - March 2015 Articles - http://goo.gl/0O1wYD and April 2015 articles - http://goo.gl/GdW2oK On another note, These articles are also linked to from the relevant category landing pages on my website to help with SEO. I have not used H tags on the article links in my landing pages , just displaying the weblink back to the news article.I've done this to try and improve the PR and rankings of my landing pages. Just wondered if anyone has any comments as to whether thats a good or bad idea and whether I could improve it in any way - An example is here (scroll down the page to the pressure washing guides) - http://goo.gl/nnRE49 Thanks Pete0 -
Does having no content on a mobile page have effect on the ranking.
We are about to go live with a mobile version of our webshop, mobile users will be shown an alternative version of the desktop page. At the moment we have little to no content on the mobile pages; how will this effect our ranking? (desktop and mobile page have the same URL and meta, only the "body" is different)

Duplicate Page Content and Titles from Weebly Blog
Anyone familiar with Weebly that can offer some suggestions? I ran a crawl diagnostics on my site and have some high priority issues that appear to stem from Weebly Blog posts. There are several of them and it appears that the post is being counted as "page content" on the main blog feed and then again when it is tagged to a category. I hope this makes sense, I am new to SEO and this is really confusing. Thanks!

My Home Page meta title on Google isn't what it should be
Hey guys My website is http://www.oxfordmeetsfifth.com According to SEOcentro, my website should appear to Google as Fashion Tips for Women | Oxford Meets Fifth. I have used the Yoast plugin and force rewrote titles to ensure that is the home page meta title. It also appears correctly in browser. Could anyone advise why this is the case? Thanks in advance!

Home Page Canonical Question
I have an online store through hosting service Volusion. I have asked them about this and was told that this is normal. I would like to confirm this with you guys because I'm not convinced of the quality of their customer service and I'm not an expert. When I check Analytics the landing page that is visited most often is www....../default.asp and the second most visited is www........./ . These are, of course, both my home page. Volusion has radio button that allows the admin to "enable canonical links", which I have enabled, and they told me that it is normal to see this on google analytics regardless. When I type in either of those addreses, the homepage comes up as the address that I typed. In other words it doesn't redirect so that it is always the same. Am I right to be concerned about this?
