RSS Feeds
-
It is highly preached that RSS is a great way to get backlinks.
Can somebody explain me how go to about RSS, or direct me to a good source on Internet where I can learn all about RSS feeds and how to implement them? I know there are many reasonable RSS feeds services available out there, but I don't want to go for them. If at all I'd like to first learn myself and then decide on what to do.
Please help.

Does using a service like linklicious.me help? Is it recommended?
-
Oh, that's very specific topic, for IT people!
I don't know that either!
-
Please teach me the 'automatization' thing too. I'll be obliged :))
-
Exactly! You could make some automatization on that, but that's other subject!
hehehe

Ok So what I do is... whenever I create a backlink, I should submit the URL to a RSS website like http://www.5z5.com/Suggest-A-Feed/ . Yeah?
-
You need to enter in each of the links listed, and submit your post/rss there!

Thanks
I want to understand 'in detail' how (2) is done. i.e. Submit your RSS feeds to a RSS Directory, that they save your feed and put a link for you
Can you please help me learn the technique?
-
You can use RSS for two things:
- Send it to your customers/readers, so they can read yours news, and then maybe they will use your content in their social media.
- Submit your RSS feeds to a RSS Directory, that they save your feed and put a link for you
Got it? =]

Thanks. The article was indeed very helpful and easy to understand.
However, now that I understand what RSS is, I want to know how can I utilize it to for backlinking and spread my articles around? I've heard terms like "submitting to RSS Feeds" in SEO. Can you help me understand that please?

Hello,
RSS is good for at least two reasons:
- Your clients/users are constantly exposed to your products/news.
- Give you links
This How-To is the one I use to explain to my interns! Good luck!

Hope it helps!

Multi-domain content and meta data feed
Hi, I am working with a client whose web developer has offered to build a CMS that auto-feeds meta-data and product descriptions (on-page content) to two different websites which have two completely different URL's (primary domain names) associated with them. Please see screenshots attached for examples. The entire reason this has been offered is to avoid duplicate content issues. The client has two E-Commerce websites but only one content management system that can update both simultaneously. The work-around shown in the screenshots is the developers attempt at ensuring that both sites have unique meta data and on-page content associated with each product. Can anyone advise whether they foresee that this may cause any issues from an SEO perspective. Thanks in advance wM3ngsj.png KtBun98.png

Temporary Redirects - Trackback & Feed
Under my MOZ account I'm getting a bunch of temporary redirect warnings. Most of them are blog post with a /feed or a /trackback . I know the trackback URL's are coming from blogs where people have commented because it brings up a Trackback URL | Comments RSS Feed section. I'm not sure how to make this /trackback work. The only line of code in my editor that says trackback is h3#postinfo,

RSS Footer
Hey everyone, A lot of my content gets scraped regular. I'm wondering about using the RSS Footer plugin for wordpress. It allows you to put a link back to the page on your site from the RSS feed. You can use the title of the page as the anchor text or a brand name. It could result in lots of scraper links...with branded anchor text How safe do you think this practice is nowadays?

One page with multi syndicate feeds
Hi, Just a quick note. I hope someone is able to advise. To cut a long story short I have a page/s that receive multiple syndicated feeds.

We are using the content for its value to visitors. Am very happy to cross domain rel=canonical the source and not incur any of Panda's wrath but would like to know if one can add multiple rel-canonicals to one page to reference multiple sources. Appreciate your help. Many thanks Dave Upton0 -
How to change URL of RSS Feed?
Hi, There are some websites that keeps on scraping my content. I have blocked them already from accessing my website using .htaccess but they still get my content via RSS feed. I have tried delaying the RSS feed but I think this affected google rankings. My question is, is there a way to change the URL of my RSS Feed? From: http://www.mysite.com/feed to http://www.mysite.com/feed2
