I would suggest not deal with affiliating on your company website, but concentrate on making conversions for your services.
BUT! There are tons of ways to make it work great. It depends on what kind of website your company is running.
Example: You sell products for pregnant woman and after your conversion on your "Thank you page" show several offers like books or video-courses for new mothers
Another way if you want to be in internet marketing - set up a separate website for that in a related niche as your company + you will get a good hompage link in the future

Some affiliates can sell millions of dollars worth of products per month.
The real question.... is your website, shopping cart, product range, pricing, conversion rate and commission percentage worth it for a superaffiliate?
Just a warning... there are a lot of young, hungry, highly skilled, smart, well financed affiliates with the resources needed to rank quickly for very competitive terms. Once they get a foothold in your space the level of competition could go up several notches.
Where will that put you if you decide not to support affiliates?

Setting up external link goals in GA
I have recently switched all my travel affiliate links to TripAdvisor using their javascript code that converts the natural links (direct links to TA URLs) to affiliate links. I have set up goal tracking in GA to try to put a monetary value on clicks through to these links (based on the known conversion rate to commissionable bookings) but GA is over-reporting the goals by a very large margin. I'm wondering what I've done wrong. The first screen shot below is of the goal settings I used in GA. The second screenshot shows that GA is reporting 7125 goal completions since I set up the goal on 7 August. The third screenshot shows the actual number of GA events recorded on outbound clicks to TA URLs in the same period, which is just 97. So the goal completions being recorded far exceed the actual goal completions, but I'm not sure why. I know I've done something wrong but as this is the first time I've used goals, I'd appreciate some help to see what I've done wrong. Thank you. 3f7dc3de6f9f1373d47994144a5cb016 56aa39130a7d54b07d8f2ce9cf1d7fb0 35ee827275928ca8c4d4c941f0672ef8

New to Affiliates Programs - Any advice?
Hi, I've no background knowledge of affiliate programs and am wondering if this would be a good idea for our company, www.vintageheirloom.com? We sell for the most part expensive, vintage bags and jewellery. Would an affiliates program be appropriate or possibly annoy and hinder customer loyalty rather than promote it? I'm using WP with Woocommerce and have seen a plugin that connects Woocommerce with Ambassador. Does anyone have any previous experience with this company, worked well, any things to watch out for etc. One issue that puzzles me if that I get the idea that you can put a tracking code on say a 3rd party blog banner, person clicks and buy product, that gets tracked. But what if customer abandons sale, comes back later directly to site and purchases? I'm guessing this isn't tracked. Is that right? As an aside I've a blogger friend who I'd like to pay for sending traffic that leads to sales. Is this the best way to track? Would the addition of 'How did you hear about us' question during 'Add to cart' process be a back up method? Any downsides to that, other than customer ignoring it? Thanks a lot for looking & any suggestions you may have! Kevin

Advise about Social Sharing between two loosely affiliated website - (retweets/fb cross sharing)
So basically, I have two websites. One being my Primary website and another which is very Niche/Seasonal. Now the Niche website received a penalty, and was later re-included however google traffic has been extremely limited since being reindexed. (bing never had a problem, still top ranked) I don't directly link back and forth between the two websites because its not worth hurting my primary websites ranking. I'm sure google knows I own both anyway, as they are on the same webmaster tools but the Niche site was kicked for spammy link building & its been an endless process removing them all. Anyway, with that being my concern. Would it be acceptable to cross share facebook posts, retweet and do things like that on occasion? My primary reason for asking is because the Niche website has a very large social following, so I would like to share post/tweets from my Primary site when its relevant and vice versa. Appreciate any suggestions/comments. Thanks!

Affiliate site
I have a client I am doing SEO work for. He sells a system that helps people win at video keno. He sells a system for like $200 that shows people step by step how to play and win. Its a good site and he has a ton of verified winnings. My point in saying that, its not a fly-by-night system he wrote in his basement. I know - gambling, not easy for SEO. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. Wouldn't this potentially be perfect for affiliate marketing? He offers a good commission to whoever sends him traffic if they buy. If anybody could direct me to a resource or two that is reputable and would handle as much of the set up and management of this I would be very grateful! Thank you! Matthew

Ecommerce affiliate marketing comparison engine
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as an ecommerce comparison platform for affiliate programs? Something that would say, take a particular product, and let the user compare between Amazon, eBay, Walmart (all would be through affiliate programs). Does such a thing exist? Or is such a thing even feasible? oops, sorry for multiple posts, please let me know if i can delete somehow

Link juice from my affiliates to my site
I'm setting up an affiliate program through 1shoppingcart. Even though I run 3 different websites, the way their program works is that I have to have 1 domain name that my affiliates get as their affiliate link, with their unique id attached at the end. I can give them multiple links that will redirect to various places on my 3 websites, but those original links that they put on their site will all be to just 1 domain. I'm wondering if I still get link juice to my sites even though the links are obviously being redirected? Does it depend on the redirection method? I was just thinking that getting hundreds of affiliates who run related sites could be a very good seo boost if they're all linking to my site, but I feel like it's going to be wasted because of this redirection thing. Hope this made sense. Thanks very much,
