Adding rel=next / prev to pagination that uses Ajax?
-
Hi
I have just been informed that I should be using the rel=next / rel=prev markup on my category pages and search results pages that use pagination.
How do i add these in? Is it just the simple case of adding rel=next in the<a href="" for="" item="" in="" the="" pagination?<="" p=""></a>
<a href="" for="" item="" in="" the="" pagination?<="" p="">Also does this work if your are using AJAX - on page load it displays the search / category pages then uses AJAX for additional pages so there is no page refresh</a>
<a href="" for="" item="" in="" the="" pagination?<="" p="">Many Thanks</a>

It's tricky - these are http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2011/09/pagination-with-relnext-and-relprev.html
To steal their example, page 2 of search results is going to need 2 tags, like this:
If there's no page refresh and you're using AJAX, it's possible your paginated search isn't being indexed at all. It depends on what you're showing to bots. Unfortunately, that's nearly impossible to tell without seeing the site.

Yeah its simple enough to add.. Just the previous page to the one you are on with the rel tag "prev" and the next page with the rel tag "next".. As for your ajax issued im not too sure sorry, i dont see why it wouldnt work though.

Ranking without use of keywords on page & without use of matching anchor text??
Howdy folks. So, here is a dilemma. One of competitors of ours is somehow ranking for a keyphrase "houston chronicle obituaries" without any usage of these keywords on the page, without any full or partial anchor text match ("chronicle" is not used anywhere). The rest of competitiors' rankings make sense. Any ideas?

Using a US CDN (Cloudflare) for a UK Site. Should I use a UK Based CDN as it says my server is based in USA
Hi All, We are a UK Company with Uk customers only and use CloudFlare CND. Our Site is hosted by a UK company with servers here but from looking online and checking where my site is hosted etc etc , some sites are telling me the name of our UK Hosted company and other sites are telling me my site is hosted in San Fran (USA) , where I presume the Cloudflare is based. I know Cloudflare has a couple of servers in the UK it uses but given all my customers are UK based ,I don't want this is affect rankings etc , as I thought it was a ranking benefit to be hosted in the country you are based. Is there any issue with this and should I change or is google clever enough to know so i shouldn't worry. thanks Pet

Whats the best way to implement rel = “next/prev” if we have filters?
Hi everyone, The filtered view results in paginated content and has different urls: example: https://modli.co/dresses.html?category=45&price=13%2C71&size=25 Look at what it says in search engine land: http://searchengineland.com/implementing-pagination-attributes-correctly-for-google-114970 Look at Advanced Techniques paragraph. do you agree? it seem like google will index the page multiple times for every filter variant. Thanks, Yehoshua

Pagination duplicate title and meta description
Hello, Getting a lot of duplicate title and meta description errors via google webmaster tools. For best SEO practices, do i no-index the page/2's, page/3's...? More importantly, i see how MOZ did it by adding "page 3" to their titles such as http://moz.com/blog?page=3. Is that a better way of doing it? If so, how do i do that on Yoast SEO? Thank you so much!

If I hired you/your company to do my SEO ...
If i hired you or your company to do SEO for my site (http://goo.gl/XUH3f) what would be the first steps you'd take? I'm pretty sure i've covered all of the basics myself, I'm just left trying to figure out what i should do next... rankings have been going up and down for the last few weeks, but even when they're up, they're not high enough 🙂 (and then they go back down anyway) ... I know some of you are going to say build links, please at least give me an example of one or two sites you'd try to get to link to mine... I'm open to any advice or feedback as I'm just a website owner who's been doing their own SEO & learning on the fly... Thanks a lot!

Pagination Issues
Hi, My press release section is showing pagination issues (duplicate pages) http://www.me-by-melia.com/press/ I know they are showing 27 duplicate page titles which would be a easy fix. Do you recommend pagination? Let me know if u see any other issues.

301 or 302 - www.yoursite.com/uk/content
If your website CMS forces you to redirect from the homepage should it be a 301 or 302 Example includes www.direct.gov.uk which 302's it My view is that it should be a 302 in this instance and almost all others should be a 301 - the reason for this is that you want the www.direct.gov.uk to be the "primary" and one that is displayed in Google, whereas for anything else you want the URL of the location. Yes I know that ideally you don't have any redirection at all...

Should I check Use noindex for Tag Archives?
I have a page indexed > (http://mysite.com/mypost) and also http://mysite.com/tag/mypost The same post shows up twice, one with /tag/ one without when I search site:http://mysite.com
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | vinner-280241
Is this a duplicate content?? Can I get penalized for this? In the All in one plugin should I check Use noindex for Tag Archives to avoid this or doesn't matter.
Thanks0
