PA = Page Authority
mR = MozRank
mT = MozTrust
DA = Domain Authority.
If you take a look in the right hand side bar on this page:

You'll find links to pages all about these metrics.

Why our competitor has bigger DA?
I just compare our website www.simpletranslation.com with one of our competitor www.straker.com.au and their DA is much better than ours even we have more external backlinks. Can somebody explain me why? We worked really hard on new content on our blog and did few guest posts and instead of see some results on increasing of our DA our DA went down in last 2 months and I have no idea why.

How can you rank nr 1 for high competitive keyword with low DA and only 1 backlink?
Hi! Was wondering if anyone can explain this a bit clearer...

Image attatched... How is it possible to rank on Google Norway for spot nr.1 (page in English language) and spot nr.2 (page in Norwegian language) , when all you competitors have higher PA, DA and a lot more backlinks and better on-page optimization according to MOZ? Is there something I´m misunderstanding?

Rankings & Linking Root Domains
How are the Linking Root Domains under Keyword Rankings being found? We've noticed for many of our key terms that big brands like Amazon, eBay, Home Depot, etc. only list 1 linking root domain, while much smaller competitors in our industry have hundreds. Clearly big brands are going to get more links than a company most people haven't heard of and the idea that these companies only have 1 linking root domain to a specific subcategory on their site is not believable. What's going on here?

Moz metrics / PageRank Incoherence
I'm checking some domains/pages where I could acquire some links, but I'm seeing huge differences between Moz metrics and PageRank and I'm hesitant about the meaning of it.. Given that PR was updated recently, is it safe to assume tons of crappy inbound links or a penalization by Google? Here is an example: Page Authority: 60
Competitive Research | | Branagan
Page MozRank: 6.0
Page MozTrust: 6.0
Domain Authority: 50
Domain MozRank: 4.0
Domain MozTrust: 4.0 Google PageRank: 1 Any clues?

No-follow value
While conducting competitive analysis and examining link profiles via OSE, one will generally see a portion of external inbound links possessing the "no follow" attribute. I am wondering what the latest general consensus is regarding whether or not these links contribute any link juice or page authority - enough to influence SERP positioning? Or contribute to domain authority? One of my client's competitors has several hundred more inbound links from external domains than we do. The majority of these are "no follow" links from pages of relatively low page authority, but the domain subject matter is quite relevant. The competitor's site generally ranks higher for similar key phrases. And so far, this is the only reason I can see ( I have examined and compared numerous factors ) which is allowing the competitor to outrank us. There is no doubt in my mind we have superior content and on-page SEO structure, so now I am looking at this purely from an off-page perspective to identify ranking factors. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Competior Research & Analyse
Hi, I like to know the inbound marketing sources of my competitors, and like to know how many traffic are receiving from Organic Ranking and Adwords or Search Engine Paid Marketing. ANd it would be nice to know the social media traffic too. I am searching, but i see here compete.com, but at the moment it's too expensive for me, like to ask you if you can find me to find any software cheaper than compete. Thanks.

How can a site rank higher when you beat them by A LOT on virtually every SEOMOZ factor?
Any insight into what's driving these results would be appreciated. Another site ranks #6 and we rank #22 on a keyword that scores 67% for "Keyword Difficulty", but we score significantly higher than them on almost every ranking factor including having nearly 10 times more backlinks along with higher PA and DA scores,etc. Here is a comparison from the Keyword Difficulty Tool report.
