Hi there,
I have recently joined a company to look after the e-marketing side of things, anyway the company I work for have been writing articles for a website that they own for over 2 years, probably about 200 or so unique articles on that website, however over the past year or so there has been no contribution to this site and was wondering if it would be worthwhile transferring these article over to our blog?, as this is where all the attention is in terms of marketing etc
Kind Regards,
-
I think Alan already gave an answer to this. Moving content to commercial site will make it stronger at the cost of weakening non-commercial site.
If you are planning to focus all your effort on commercial site, it sounds like a good ideas. On other hand if your non-commercial website is important to you as well you might one to reconsider it.
Kind regards
Bojan

Very interesting, do you think it's worthwhile?

Correct

Thanks for your quick reply Alan.
I will only strengthen the website I put them on if I delete this page from the website I am taking them from, is that correct?
Kind Regards,
-
Hi Bojan,
Ok, the company I work for has a website example.com (non-commercial) as well as there main website (commercial) where the blog is also hosted, however on example.com they have been producing lots of well written and original articles over the past 3 years or so, however over the past year or so there has been no contribution at all to this website and to be honest there has never been a marketing strategy for this website (I know hard to believe).
So I thought the main website & blog (commercial) where all the effort is and a marketing strategy to support the effort is in place, why not move these articles over to the blog, where is will be seen by thousands and may have an impact on SEO.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi.
I'm not sure I fully understood you,
The company that you are currently employed has website with blog and they would like to transfer articles to a blog while removing them website?
-
You will weaken the site you take the articles from, and strengthen the one you put them on.

Duplicate Content
When I say duplicate content, I don't mean that the content on a clients site is displaying on another site on the web or taken from a site on the web. A client has a few product pages and each product page has content on the bottom of the page (4-5 paragraphs) describing the product. Now, this content is also displaying on other pages, but re-worded so it's not 100% duplicate. Some pages show a duplicate content % ranging from 12% to 35% and maybe 40%. Just curious if I should suggest having each product page less than 10% duplicated. Thanks for your help.

How should I handle author attribution for ghostwritten content?
I've been using Crowdcontent for article production, and always feel like I'm potentially missing out on some authority or social proof with visitors (and maybe Google?) by not attributing an author (Crowdcontent doesn't give you the name of the author, otherwise I would just use their name). Would I be doing myself any favors by attributing myself as the author and pointing it back to my Google+ profile? Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Duplicate Content - Delete it or NoIndex?
Last month I realized that one of my freelancers had been feeding my website with copied / spun content and sadly, there's lots of it. And of course it got my website to be hit hard by the last Panda update. Now that I've identified the content, what the best thing to do? Should I delete it permanently and get 404 errors or should I set the pages' robot meta tag to "nofollow"?

site.com/category/model_1
site.com/category/model_2 I'm mainly interested in getting the category webpages to rank high. The problem i've got is... what to put in the CATEGORY webpage!. Suppose you sale office furniture... and the category is 'chairs'... if you add content there, it won't be useful. What do you suggest me to add there?. ====== NOTE: My 'categories' webpage is split vertically, so you've got an image gallery on the left, and the product description on the right. So all of my product pages look a bit alike... and the 'category' itself has a placeholder on the right. I suspect that's why i'm not getting good rankings! THANKS in advance.0 -
Duplicate content with a trailing slash /
Hi, I 've pages like this: A) www.example.com/file/ B) www.example.com/file Just two questions: Does Google see this as duplicate content? Best to 301 redirect B to A? Many thanks Richard PS I read previous threads re the subject, it sounded like there was a bug in SEOMoz but I was not absolutely clear. Apologies if this is going over old ground.

Checking for content duplication against content on your own site.
We are currently trying to rewrite our product descriptions and I'm afraid some of the salespeople that are writing the descriptions are plagiarizing one-another's writing. Is there a content duplication checker that will allow you to check a piece of writing against a specific site rather than all of the web?

Duplicate Content Warning
Hi Mozers, I have a question about the duplicate content warnings I am recieving for some of my pages. I noticed that the below pattern of URLs are being flagged as duplicate content. I understand that these are seen as two different pages but I would like to know if this has an negative impact on my SEO? Why is this happening? How do I stop it from happening? http://www.XXXX.com/product1234.html?sef_rewrite=1 http://www.XXXX.com/product1234.html Thanks in advance!
