Additional product information: the product's sales page or a blog post?

I want to go in-depth about different customizations for custom caps, which is one of the products we offer. I just don't know whether it would be better--from an SEO perspective--to expand the caps sales page we already have or to write a blog post to give the site another valuable indexed page. From a user standpoint, I don't think it's as important, because if I do it the blog way, I can't just put a link on the page saying, Want more customizations? Visit our blog post.
Any opinions?

Something I don't think I was clear on is the fact that I'm not very concerned with the caps page itself. My ultimate goal with almost every SEO thing I do is to give the entire site more authority so that the home page will rank higher. In that case, is the blog post without question the better option?

That might work too. Admittedly I am unfamiliar with your market so my answers are of a more "generally, what I would do is" type. If you can expand that content and get a blog post out of it too, why not?

I looked at that page. I gotta say I would add the content to it directly. Perhaps you could separate it so that it's easily identified as an additional option. Or again, get some advice from someone with a bit more experience on that front than I (I don't make them pretty, I just make them rank).

Oh, I just saw what you added. Yes, that's the page in question. Maybe I should do both--expand that page and write a blog post--with DIFFERENT content.

I only have one caps page, and I guess it's what you'd call a sales page.

The additional information isn't relevant to every single person who would want caps, which is what makes me want to do a blog post. On the other had, more content on the caps page would help its SEO. I guess I just answered my own question. Think user first. Put it on the blog.

That's a bit interesting. Do you have just the one "caps" page that you would like to expand, or are there many?
I ask because if you have multiple pages on which you're going to put the same content, you could run into duplicate issues. In that case it may be best to have a separate page.
From an SEO perspective, it would technically prove beneficial to get another page of content on there, but careful with this one. This is information regarding a product, and if you can deliver that information to the customer without forcing them to click for it, you are reducing your bounces a little. The fewer clicks to buy, the better.
If this would all be on just one page, I would opt for expanding that content. In that case, you may want to consult a designer who can help you find creative, yet user-friendly ways of delivering that content to ensure that it's above the fold, etc. And depending on the target terms, the additional content could/should help that page to rank.
Think "user first" and the SEO part seems to fall in line....most times.

If so, then I would certainly opt for placing the content on here. I think that expanding that would help more than a link to more info. But again, for so long as it's going to be unique.

Having more indexed pages is an advanatge, but you need to take action to make the most of it.
Evey page is given PageRank, lets say 1, if you have a 3 page site, your site will have a PR of 3 (excuding external links) if you had 3 more pages you have a website PR of 6, but still 1 per page, thought smart linking you can push that link juice onto one or a few pages, so you may have 1 page with a PR of 3 and the others 0.?

Best way to handle Breadcrumbs for Blog Posts in multiple categories?
The site in question uses Wordpress. They have a Resources section that is broken into two categories (A or B). Underneath each of these categories is 5 or 6 subcategories. The structure looks like this: /p/main-category-a/subcategory/blog-post-name /p/main-category-b/subcategory/blog-post-name All posts have a main category, but other posts often have multiple subcategories while some posts also fall into both main categories. What would be the easiest or most effective way to auto-populate the breadcrumb based on from where the person reached the blog post? So for example, a way to set Home -> Main Category -> Subcategory 1 as the breadcrumb if they reach it from the Subcategory 1 landing page. Or is this not possible and we should just set the breadcrumb manually based on where we feel it best lives? Thanks.

Some bots excluded from crawling client's domain
Hi all! My client is in healthcare in the US and for HIPAA reasons, blocks traffic from most international sources. a. I don't think this is good for SEO b. The site won't allow Moz bot or Screaming Frog bot to crawl it. It's so frustrating. We can't figure out what mechanism they are utilizing to execute this. Any help as we start down the rabbit hole to remedy is much appreciated. thank you!

If I'm using a compressed sitemap (sitemap.xml.gz) that's the URL that gets submitted to webmaster tools, correct?
I just want to verify that if a compressed sitemap file is being used, then the URL that gets submitted to Google, Bing, etc and the URL that's used in the robots.txt indicates that it's a compressed file. For example, "sitemap.xml.gz" -- thanks!

Spam URL'S in search results
We built a new website for a client. When I do 'site:clientswebsite.com' in Google it shows some of the real, recently submitted pages. But it also shows many pages of spam url results, like this 'clientswebsite.com/gockumamaso/22753.htm' - all of which then go to the sites 404 page. They have page titles and meta descriptions in Chinese or Japanese too. Some of the urls are of real pages, and link to the correct page, despite having the same Chinese page titles and descriptions in the SERPS. When I went to remove all the spammy urls in Search Console (it only allowed me to temporarily hide them), a whole load of new ones popped up in the SERPS after a day or two. The site files itself are all fine, with no errors in the server logs. All the usual stuff...robots.txt, sitemap etc seems ok and the proper pages have all been requested for indexing and are slowly appearing. The spammy ones continue though. What is going on and how can I fix it?

Redirect old URL's from referring sites?
Hi I have just came across some URL's from the previous web designer and the site structure has now changed. There are some links on the web however that are still pointing at the old deep weblinks. Without having to contact each site it there a way to automatically sort the links from the old structure www.mydomain.com/show/english/index.aspx to just www.mydomain.com Many Thanks

301 redirect blog posts from old URL to new one
I moved a wordpress blog from domain.com to domain.com/blog . I want to redirect the links in google from the old domain.com to the new one, but I also want to put a new site/application at domain.com..so I'm thinking an .htaccess 301 redirect at the root wouldn't work. Any tips?

404's and duplicate content.
I have real estate based websites that add new pages when new listings are added to the market and then deletes pages when the property is sold. My concern is that there are a significant amount of 404's created and the listing pages that are added are going to be the same as others in my market who use the same IDX provider. I can go with a different IDX provider that uses IFrame which doesn't create new pages but I used a IFrame before and my time on site was 3min w/ 2.5 pgs per visit and now it's 7.5 pg/visit with 6+min on the site. The new pages create new content daily so is fresh content and better on site metrics (with the 404's) better or less 404's, no dup content and shorter onsite metrics better? Any thoughts on this issue? Any advice would be appreciated
