Isapi rewrite syntax for partial link redirects
-
I need to redirect a number of partial (incomplete) redirects. The listing in Google Webmaster Tools looks like this:
learn/how_to_dr learn/howtodrea/a learn/ingredie.. learn/step_by_step_instruc
When I try and use Isapi to redirect these, It does not work. Is there a specific syntax I need to do to accomplish this?

Hi Angie,
I am using Helicon ISAPI Redirect for our redirects.
Here is a simple example of the redirect synatx:
RewriteRule ^policies/return_policy/ /shop/returns/ [R=301,L]
RewriteRule ^policies/ / [R=301,L]
I would LOVE a way to save some of these incoming links:
learn/tutorials/how-to-cur
Thanks for the help!

Hi Josh,
Are you using IIS URL Rewrites (web.config) or ISAPII filters (httpd.ini)? Can you post the rewrite rules you created, so we can see what syntax you're using?
-
Hi Edward.
I don't that that will help. I have both of those types of redirects set up and working already. My issue are partial links.
Thanks though

Is this any good? http://www.seoconsultants.com/windows/isapi/301/

Meta tag Syntax
Hi, This might seem silly. What is the correct syntax for the meta tag used when noindexing webpages? I have "". I have seen it both with and without the forward slash before the greater than sign. Does it make any difference if the forward slash is present or not? Cheers

Fix redirect loop
Hi,
Technical SEO | | bshanahan
I've been trying set up a 301 redirect from http://domestiquecap.com to www.domestiquecap.com but one was already set up by my client the other way around (from www to http://) so it's creating a redirect loop. However, we don't know where that original redirect was set up. The htaccess file doesn't appear to have the redirect and neither does the control panel of our hosting company. We need to turn off that original redirect so that I can instead redirect to the www subdomain. Where else could this 301 redirect have been set up? Is there a tool to diagnose where the 301 redirect was created so that I can turn it off? I am thinking maybe it was created via the domain registrar (GoDaddy) since the client has the login there and hasnt shared it with me.0 -
What do I do with these back links?
In the last two weeks, I've got 10 pingbacks from this http://caraccidentlawyer.cc/coroner-ids-berkeley-bodies-who-were-killed-in-recent-car-accident/ and sites like it. The featured attorney is a competitor of ours and, since the links aren't sex/drugs/rock&roll related, (and he's linked too) I doubt this is a negative SEO campaign, but I want it to stop. These blogs are basically pure spam. Any suggestions?

301 Redirects
Hi, I ran the seomox link report and see that I have an entry for our home page (http://www.trophycentral.com/) and http://www.trophycentral.com/index.html. The index is shown with a 301 redirect. Does this mean that a redirect is already in place to http://www.trophycentral.com/? I want to ensure our traffic is not being split between the two urls, but not sure how to confirm this. Thanks! <colgroup><col width="294"></colgroup><colgroup><col width="81"></colgroup><colgroup><col width="80"></colgroup><colgroup><col width="77"></colgroup><colgroup><col width="214"></colgroup>

Link Building Advice
Hi Everyone, I have just joined the community and am looking for some help regards Offsite SEO and Link Building. I have done some basic SEO on my website 'Marketing Quotes' Added to web directories (although I am told they do not carry much weight) I have written content and articles around them (on ezine, squidoo etc.) I have written unique content for the site I have done guest posting on blogs Not sure what to do next though for high power links. I did notice a Q&A on contacting webmasters and asking for links (after building a relationship) but wondered if there was anything (offsite wise) that I have missed out? Appreciate any advice. Regards, David
