Google Indexing
-
Hi Everybody,
I am having kind of an issue when it comes to the results Google is showing on my site.
I have a multilingual site, which is main language is Catalan.
But of course if I am looking results in Spanish (google.es) or in English (google.com) I want Google to show the results with the proper URL, title and descriptions.
My brand is "Vallnord" so if you type this in Google you will be displayed the result in Catalan (Which is not optimized at all yet)
but if you search "vallnord.com/es" only then you will be displayed the result in Spanish
What do I have to do in order for Google to read this the way I want?
Regards,
Guido.

Hi Hanna,
I have a quick question.
The language function should be added to every URL or just the home?
Thanks,
Guido.

Hannah thanks a lot!:
I am forwarding both of the soutions to the webmaster so he can evaluate which will work better.
hope this works !
Regards,
Guido.

Hi Guido,
This sort of issue isn't unusual unfortunately - however, just so you know I suspect that your location is affecting the results you're seeing - as when I search Google.com from here in the UK I'm seeing your English content ranking. However, when I search Google.es I'm seeing your Catalan content ranking so either way there are a few issues.
I suspect (although I can't be 100% sure) - that part of the issue is the Catalan vs Spanish content - as they do also speak Catalan in parts of Spain - it may be that Google is struggling to figure out which is the best content to display. There are two things that you can do:
- Set up geo-targeting via webmaster tools (if you haven't already done so) - there's a good guide here: http://www.seo-chicks.com/1463/geotargeting-on-the-same-domain-using-xml-sitemaps.html
NB - you can only do this if you are targeting specific countries - not languages. If for example you want to attract UK and US English visitors then do not implement this.
- Implement hreflang if your content is duplicate (i.e. it's the same content but in different languages):
In terms of implementation you need to place the tag on all versions of the page -
So on http://yourdomain.com/page-whatever you'd need:
So on http://yourdomain.com/page-whatever you'd need:

Hi, We have moved one of our domain https://www.mycity4kids.com/ in angular js and after that, i observed the major drop in the number of indexed pages. I crosschecked the coding and other important parameters but didn't find any major issue. What could be the reason behind the drop?

How To Cleanup the Google Index After a Website Has Been HACKED
We have a client whose website was hacked, and some troll created thousands of viagra pages, which were all indexed by Google. See the screenshot for an example. The site has been cleaned up completely, but I wanted to know if anyone can weigh in on how we can cleanup the Google index. Are there extra steps we should take? So far we have gone into webmaster tools and submitted a new site map. ^802D799E5372F02797BE19290D8987F3E248DCA6656F8D9BF6^pimgpsh_fullsize_distr.png

Google is indexing my directories
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I was looking at all of Google's results for my site and I found dozens of results for directories such as: Index of /scouting/blog/wp-includes/js/swfupload/plugins Obviously I don't want those indexed. How do I prevent Google from indexing those? Also, it only seems to be doing it with Wordpress, not any of the directories on my main site. (We have a wordpress blog, which is only a portion of the site)

Crawling and indexing content
If a page element (div, e.g.) is initially hidden and shown only by a hover descriptor or Javascript call, will Google crawl and index it’s content?

Will google let me do this
Hi i am working on my site at the moment www.in2town.co.uk and i am adding new sections and was thinking about buying domain names that best describe that section and which people would remember. so for example i am looking at adding a tenerife magazine to my site and would like to know if it would be wise to buy a domain name for example tenerife magazine and then have it directed to the section of my site. would this benefit my site in any way and would google allow this. instead of having in2town.co.uk and then tenerife magazine after it, sorry cannot find the slash as i am on a spanish keyborad at the moment, i would like to have something like tenerifemagazine.co..uk etc If anyone can give me advice on this then that would be great. also can anyone let me know if this is a wise idea or not, to have sub domain names on my main site. i would like to know if i had tenerifemagazine under the in2town domain name would it slow the site down or should i consider building a brand new site just for that and then making people aware that it comes under the in2town umbrella many thanks

"Site Suspended" in Google Adwords + Lost all rankings in Google => is this related?
Can anyone share thoughts on this: Does the S recently (mid april) we revamped our website (same content, new layout, strong brand), but a few days later our google rep contacted us to tell that she got a "red flag" for one of our SEA campaigns (we broke the bridge page policy, not on purpose to be clear), they were completely correct on this matter. We even got some extra time to correct this, normal policy is only 10 days. But, we were a little slow, so all our Adwords Campaigns are suspended and we get the message "Site suspended". We are working to have this fixed, our Google rep even granted some more time to fix this. Now, almost simultaneously, same time frame, all our new pages, that were already ranking well tx to proper 301 rules, suddenly fell out of the google SERPS, nothing to be found anymore up till now. Our website is live since 1996, no issues, up till now. There seems to be a strong correlation to what happened in our SEA and what happened in our SEO can anyone share some info?
