No data showing in SiteExplorer
-
For this site: www.cooperator.biz/
I see no backlinks in SEO Moz Open SiteExplorer but Majestic SEO is showing 13 unique domains linking to it.
I regularly encounter zero data for sites that I know have backlinks, why is this? If it's a problem with crawling them, why would I continue to use SEO Moz when other SEO services are showing me links?
Kind regards, Rich

yes that would be very good

"The new SEO Moz historical link data is cool but it's a shame it's only for campaigns, I'd like to see that for any domain I want to check up on."
That would be pretty cool actually, I would find that useful too!

Hi Casey,
That might be the problem. I wasn't expecting those links to be recent so I didn't check that but Majestic is showing those links as being fairly recent. I promise I'm not a shill, I'm just trying to figure out which tool is better, I've been an on and off pro member here for ages.

Thanks for your help.

Rich,
How old are those links? OSE updates roughly once a month, and its said it can take up to 2 index periods for your links to show up, if they are relatively new, this is the reason for this. You can check the linkscape update schedule here.
I know it can be frustrating for newer sites, you want to see the are showing up, but be patient. When they do show up in OSE the data you get is better than any other service we use.

Historical data in rank report not matching summary?
I got a new rank report today. For a lot of keywords in Yahoo and Bing it is saying things like >49 etc. When I hover over it, it tells me that these are new keywords for me that I didn't rank for before. When I look at the historical graph for those specific engines though it just shows me going back at the same position historically. For example like position 17 going back many months without change. Can anyone tell me what is up with that?

Why are my external links not showing?
I've had Pro long enough to get at least two weekly crawls and yet no external links are showing (which do absolutely exist). Why would this be?

Tools which scan urls for social data
Hi can anyone recommend any tools out there, which can allow me to scan a list of pages (urls) and give me back social data for each page (e.g. number of facebook likes, shares, twitter data, google plus, etc) Cheers, Chris

How Long For New Keyword Rank Data?
I have a PRO account and added the initial keywords and got the immediate rankings for those. Then I added new keywords and those have not been updated. How long do I have to wait to get Keyword Ranking data on those keywords. I know it says they are updated every Friday, but does that mean I have to wait until next Friday for my first run of data on new keywords?? I ask because I have to present to a client before then and I require the data for that meeting. Any insight is appreciated.

Why doesn't the BBB / Trustlink.org links show up in the Link Analysis?
I am curious why one of my client's main competitors (www.allbayhardwood.com) shows links from the Better Business Bureau and Trustlink.org (associated with BBB) but links from those sources do not show up for his domain (www.sanjosehardwoodfloors.com). He has been a BBB Acredited Business since 12/2010 and on file with them for probably as long as they have had the online version, which seems like plenty of time for the link to have been picked up. BBB has a very nice domain authority and it would be great to see these links show up. (they don't show up in webmaster tools either) Is there something I am missing? Thanks in advance guys and gals! (I know the site has other SEO issues - just getting started on pounding everything out.)

Recent backlinks in Open Site Explorer as not showing
I saw the note today that the link index did it's monthly update, yet our site www.oznappies.com still only shows 1 linking root domain and I know there are many more links now. What do I need to do to get open Site Explorer to use the latest data? I enter our site, create the report and only see old information from 6 may 2011's link index. I have the same issue with competive link finder, links I know we have on the sites listed for our competitors are not showing for our site.

The Site Explorer crawl shows errors for files/folders that do not exist.
I'm fairly certain there is ultimately something amiss on our server but the Site Explorer report on my website (www.kpmginstitutes.com) is showing thousands of folders that do not exist. Example: For my "About Us" page (www.kpmginstitutes.com/about-us.aspx), the report shows a link: www.kpmginstitutes.com/rss/industries/404-institute/404-institute/about-us.aspx. We do have "rss", "industries", "404-institute" folders but they are parallel in the architecture, not sequential as indicated in the error url. Has anyone else seen these types of error in your Site Explorer reports?
