Difficulties in Rich Snippets?
-
Hey everyone,
Lately I have been digging into Rich snippets, checking all the possibilities they offer and still try to figure out some things.
Question #1: Do you experience difficulties with implementing Image into Product page? (Don't forget, we're talking about Rich snippets)
- I have done it "a la carte" just how Google pointed out, in the Rich Snippets testing tool I have seen that the image, still nowhere in the search engine ranking pages (and I have seen that more websites are fighting with the same issue)
Question #2: Is there a possible way to implement a Category rich snippet or is there a ProductGroup?
- One of the favorite demonstrations about Rich Snippets was a MusicGroup implementation. The example would be: http://www.myspace.com/kingsofleon
Is there a way to implement something similar? Like having "featured" product show up on category pages?
- we were thinking to implement an AggregateOffer then the offers. (Did anyone test it that way?)
I hope this question will answer not just my curiosity

If my products aren't showing in rich snippets, is there still value in adding product schema?
I'm adding category pages for an online auction site and trying to determine if its worth marking up the products listed on the page. All of the individual product pages have product schema, but I have never seen them show up in rich snippets likely due to the absence of the price element and the unique nature of the items. Is there still value in adding the product schema even if the items won't show in rich snippets? Also, is it possible the product schema will help optimize for commerce related keywords such as [artist name] + for sale?

Keyword Rich Domain
We purchased a keyword rich domain name to use with an existing website. What is the best way to use this domain? Below are some thoughts, I welcome any input. Use this domain as an add-on to the main domain, but only have it load one page off the main domain? Would that cause duplicate content issues? Create a single static page of content for the domain (separate from main domain) Redirect domain to page on master domain, would we loose any benefits of the keyword rich domain? Thank you!

Structured Data and Google Rich Cards for products
It appears Google is moving towards the Rich Cards JSON-LD for all data. https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2016/05/introducing-rich-cards.html However on an ecommerce site when I have schema.org microdata structured data inline for a product and then I add the JSON-LD structured data Google treats that as two products on the page even though they are the same. To make the matter more confusing Bing doesn't appear to support JSON-LD. I can go back to the inline structured data only, but that would mean when Rich Cards for products eventually come I won't be ready. What do you recommend I do for long term seo, go back to the old or press forward with JSON-LD?

Ecommerce Rich Snippets Category Question
Hello Technical question: I have category pages in my site - and product pages in my site. Category Pages I Have listed Grouped products on them ( i.e. a product that could have multiple offers for each size ) I Have the relevant markup for them ( one for each product ) . Product Pages The Product pages have grouped products as well - but the individual simple products are note marked up. The Product pages have Aggregate reviews on them. My question is this: Should I use the grouped product sku to identify the grouped product on the category page and the product page? Technically they aren't Stock Keeping Units ( SKU's ) - but they could be used to link the 2 together to avoid duplicates. Ideas?

Rich Snippets - Easy Come / Easy Go!
Hi Guys, I've been trying like mad to get Rich Snippets (star ratings, price, availability) to show for product page results for www.evo.com. What's very strange is when I test my product page URLs in the Structured Data Testing Tool, the previews look great and the extracted data is what I'd expect. I am however getting "missing price" errors for every item in the Structured Data report in Webmaster Tools - which seems contradictory to what the testing tool shows. The error description says this can prevent Rich Snippets from showing. If anyone here could take a look at the schema.org/Offer markup on one of our product pages and see if they can see anything wrong with our price markup I would greatly appreciate it! The plot thickens.... What's even stranger is that when I submit product page URLs (that have reviews) to Google's index using Fetch as GoogleBot, the Rich Snippets appear - but then disappear sometime in the following day(s). The only thing I can think of is somehow my Merchant Center feed (which contains "product_review_count" and "product_review_average") which runs nightly is somehow 'breaking' the Rich Snippets that are generated after the page has been crawled. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Keyword rich internal linking - problem?
Had an interesting situation today.. We write daily news articles on our site. In each article we link out to two sources that we are writing about (credible sources) and we do one or two internal links. For example.. 'Today McDonald's have announced that they are purchasing more blue widgets in order to increase their opportunity to appeal to a larger market.' So in that sentence you can see one outbound link and one inbound to blue widgets on our site. I got an email today from a large company who we have written an article about in the industry and they have asked me to remove the link to their site.. I actually asked them why and this was their response. 'We're concerned because of the number of keyword-rich internal links in the article, and are worried that being included alongside them might be misinterpreted by Google as an artificial link.' Fristly, do they really have anything to be worried about?.. but more importantly, with our internal linking, do we have anything to be worried about?.

Rich snippets showing on some pages but not others
Hi, I have rich snippet mark up showing in serps for some pages but not others. All pages test fine using Googles structured data testing tool. Whats really annoying is that they seem to appear for some pages but not others within the same directory / page format. None of googles troubleshooting suggestions on the issue are a problem i.e. Does your markup follow our usage guidelines? Is your marked-up content hidden from users? Is your markup incorrect or misleading? Is your marked-up content representative of the main content of the page? Have you supplied enough information? Have you only recently updated your content? Does your markup include incorrect nesting? Reviews: Does your review use count instead of vote? There are alot of instances when the same mark up is used twice e.g. on product x page in one directory and on product x page in a different directory (theres no dupe content). I wondered if that could be a reason but there are alot of instances when product x in directory a has the snippet when it doesnt in directory b. There doesnt seem to be an identifiable pattern as to why one page whould show the snippet and not another. Any feedback appreciated. Happy to pm example pages. Andy

Convert keyword rich PDFs to web pages (text & images)
SteriPEN is a portable water purifier that kills viruses, protozoa, e-coli, etc. Because of the technical and safety requirements nature of the product, our website has much documentation of testing, organisms affected, and more. These are in pdf form and can often be found through google search (and through links on specific pages). Because of the keyword-richness of these documents pertaining to microbes SteriPEN kills, etc. does it make sense to convert these pdf's into html text and images? Then I was thinking perhaps writing a blog post AND generating key links on important landing pages to these documents (as html). Removing pdfs may be harmful? Not a clue as to the cost/benefit.
