Issue with temporary redirects

I have an issue with my temporary redirects. The seomoz campaign is showing many pages are redirecting to the homepage.

However, the pages it identifies are old pages and have been deleted and are not on the sitemap.

How do i solve this?

It sounds like you have 404s redirecting to the home page. do you have any soft 404 warnings in GWMT?

try entering yourdomain.com/blahblah into the address bar, where do you end up?

Redirection

Hi I used to have an online shop at https://shop.domain.co.uk. I have since done a new website and and want to divert all traffic to https://domain.co.uk/shoppage. The old shop was a subdomain but the new site has a shop on the normal domain. In Moz I am getting a lot of errors with missing descriptions and URL too long. so for example one of the urls <dl class="crawl-page-details-list"> <dd class="crawl-page-details-list-emphasis">https://shop.domain.co.uk/product-category/great-merchandise/?product_order=desc are like this. 404 even after Successful 301 Redirection

Hi, I've got quite few 404 error links on my site and I manually redirected all of them one by one with 301. They are redirecting successfully. But when I check my MOZ analysis, it still shows me as 404 error. I've done this about 4 days ago and MOZ crawled to my site couple times after that if it's not everyday. Do you know what the issue could be? And how can I fix it? PS: I've used Wordpress Redirection tool for it first and redirection did not work. Then I had to install the Simple 301 Redirects plugin to get it done.

Search issues

I often use the search tool to give comparisons from 1 company to another and recently have found it not working very well, i am constantly refreshing as it has the circle whirling round for many minutes at a time, it often brings up the results of searches I did earlier in the day or even the day before, and the overall time that it takes to bring up the information I have requested seems to be getting longer and longer. Now working in a face paced environment this can often loose an hour of my time each day just waiting on information that I have already entered several times. I feel that the quality of the service has just slowed down so much that I am now looking at other companies/tools to gain the same information, is there anything that has happened on your side recently that has caused this issue? are other users experiencing the same issue? is there anything that can be addressed to resolve this issue. Redirect analysis tool

I'm looking for a tool like this: http://www.internetofficer.com/seo-tool/redirect-check/ that can check hundreds/thousands of URLs and give me a report as to which ones have been redirected. Does anyone know of something that can do this?

Duplicate Content Issue from using filters on a directory listing site

I have a directory listing site of harpists and have alot of issues coming up that say: Content that is identical (or nearly identical) to content on other pages of your site forces your pages to unnecessarily compete with each other for rankings. Because this is a directory listing site the content is quite generic.The main issue appears to be coming from the functionality of the page. It appears that the "spider" is picking up each different choice of filter as a new page? If you have a look at this link you will see what I mean. People searching the site can filter the results of the songs played by this harpist by changing the dropdowns etc... but for some reason the filter arguments are being picked up...? Do you have any good approaches to solving this issue? A similar issue comes from the video pages for each harpist. Crawl Report Technical Issue

I'm having a problem with our campaign especially the crawl report. Because the last update is Nov 4 and isn't supposed to be updated weekly? I already submit a helpdesk support ticket and even send a seperate e-mail regarding this issue but until now the report is still not updated. Anybody here can help me raise this issue/ Thanks.

Rel Canonical issues for two urls sharing same IP address

Our client built a wordpress site on url A, then opted for a better url B. Rather than moving all the wordpress files/website over to the new url B, they just contacted GoDaddy, who hosted BOTH urls under the same IP address. When I do a term target on url B, I'm flagged for rel canonical use. I can only get a B grade for each keyword. (I've also tried using url A, but I get the same flag and B grade results). I'm not sure if this set-up will thwart our seo efforts for the site, because only the homepage comes up when you type in url B anyway. Every subsequent page displays the original url A. Somewhere, wordpress is also adding a rel canonical link on the homepage source to url A, too, which we can't seem to edit. So, question is: is it ok to leave this set up as is with both urls hosted on the same IP address, or should we move the whole site over to the desired url B? Thanks much!

How can I update On Page Optimization Reports following 301 redirect?

A few weeks ago I ran the SEOMoz On Page Optimization Reports for one of my sites. At the time, the site homepage was duplicated .com/ and .com/index.html (I know!). The On Page Optimisation Reports I ran at the time obviously included both as individual pages. I've now corrected the duplicate issue with a 301 but the On Page Optimization Reports are still looking at the rankings for .com/index.html and therefore showing "not in top 50" for keywords where I'm actually ranking 1st - any idea how I can get the reports to update so they don't continue to look for .com/index.html? Thanks!
