Best way to use popular YouTube channel for SEO purposes
-
Hi all, We have a YouTube channel containing about 25 videos we created professionally a few years ago. They are all product features and are hosted on our site for applicable products (a very small percentage of our overall number of products). This channel was largely forgotten about for a few years. It has now reached over 160k views. What's the best way to utilize these videos for SEO benefits? Any techniques anyone has to maximize our ever increasing number of views? Thanks

Hi Brad,
Ask not what you can do to maximise your SEO, but what can you do to make your user experience better.
In other words ensure that your visitor gets all the info he/she needs.
1. Make sure you link to products in the Video Description so anyone watching can easy find and purchase.
2. Have you considered creating a transcript to go along with the video?
3. Are the videos embedded on your product pages?
4. Have you shared the videos with your social circles?
5. Are the videos correctly branded with your website logo and URL? alot can change in a few years is the branding the same as it was when the videos were produced?
6. Have you considered creating some new videos? You channel may or may not have subscribers who could come back and view your new videos and maybe purchase a product or two.
These are just my initial thoughs on what I would consider doing, I'm sure you have already touched upon these.
Cheers
Aran

How to best automate batch naming of product images
On an ecommerce website with tens of thousands of products, product image file names are auto generated by your system, and are often just a string of numbers and letters. We optimize our callout images and heroes but I'm questioning if we are missing a big opportunity with our product image names not being optimized. Does anyone have any insight on a smarter way to automate batch naming for thousands of product images?

Local SEO Issue: Google Places Listing on Page 8
Hello, I'm having an issue with a client's Google Places listing. It's showing on page 8 for one of the main keyword terms but their main site is on page 1. Having looked into competitors' places listings ranking above, I've ruled out the following; lack of citations inconsistent citations incomplete profile incorrect category listing details not matching places landing page incorrect location and any form of keyword stuffing Other places listings ranking above have fewer citations, incomplete profiles, details inconsistent with their main site, one is no longer trading as a business and one has no website! In the past, our client had had two listings simultaneously but we addressed this waaaay back. Is it possible we could still be getting punished? I'm at a bit of a loss otherwise. Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated. Thankyou!

Can or should you use a residential address for Google places?
My first thought is no. But I am definitely looking for some loopholes. If there is any way to make this work, please share your thoughts.

Quick ways of finding out of date / inconsistent citations
Hi fellow mozzers! We are currently relaunching our website and are in the process of ensuring all our local citations are up to date and consistent. In doing so, I've noticed that there are still countless listings under our old address, which probably isn't doing our local rankings a whole world of good! I have been hunting these down by searching "company name" "old address" to bring up any references, but I wondered if there was a tool to find these quicker, in the same way Whitespark finds citation sources to begin with? Similarly, is there a tool that flags up listings that have the correct NAP info, but that has maybe been formatted differently enough so as to cause consistency probs? Thanks all!

Image SEO - Does having multiple sites using same image help?
I'd assume that if many websites reference the same image on a server that this image would rank higher in image results than a similar image that is only used on 1 website.I have yet to do any testing with this to be certain, but how important does this factor seem to be in regards to image SEO?

Google’s algorithm on file size. Use IFrame or not?
With page size being a big factor in Google’s algorithm what’s the best way to implement a flash file without jeopardizing rankings? What’s your thoughts on embedding the video in an IFrame?
