Are missing Meta Tags a big deal on a blog?
-
I show 272 missing Meta Description Tags after the crawl completed on my website. Pretty much all of those are from my website hosted wordpress blog. Should I be concerned about this?

Agree with Matt. There's no point ranking if nobody ever clicks on your link.
If you can make your Title/Description combinations compelling / relevant then it's possible for your entry to punch above it's weight and get more clicks then you'd expect from it's position. Or conversely your entry might not get the clicks you expect if your titles/description aren't connecting with your audience.
If you're got hundreds of missing meta-descriptions then I'd start by looking at your important pages.

Hi Nathan - there are two ways to look at this - from an SEO point of view meta description has no real value in regards to influencing your search rankings directly. However from a customers/visitor view point it can influence whether the person actually clicks on your page in the SERPs, as it will influence the description that search engines show for your page, so if you can I would look at working on this to make sure you are getting the optimum click-throughs from your SERPs postions.

Duplicate Content and Other Issues from Blog Tags and Categories
I have recently taken over the maintenance/redesign of our website and after setting up Moz I see many errors:
On-Page Optimization | | jgoethert
Duplicate content
Missing descriptions
Duplicate titles
etc. All are related to blog categories and tags. My questions are: are these errors hurting us? Should I simply remove tags/categories from the sitemaps or bite the bullet and create content for every single category page? Our site is https://financiallysimple.com/ and we are using Yoast plugin in Wordpress (if that helps)2 -
Are there detrimental effects of having multiple robot tags
Hi All, I came across some pages on our site that have multiple robot tags, but they have the same directives. Two are identical while one is for Google only. I know there aren't any real benefits from having it set up this way, but are there any detrimental effects such as slowing down the bots crawling these pages? name="googlebot" content="index, follow, noodp"/> Thanks!

Keywords on Title Tag and Meta Description?
I have question regarding the use of keywords on title tag and meta description. I will take my website as example... Title Tag: Web Design Company & Digital Marketing Agency in Jakarta Meta Description: Coriate is a full-service website design & Internet marketing firm in Indonesia. We offer the best web solutions and SEO service in the industry. My questions: Is it good? Because I followed Blue Fountain Media. They don't use same keyword on title tag and meta description. You can see on title tag I use "web design" while on meta description I use "website design". Or should I use "web design" on meta description too? Blue Fountain Media doesn't use their company name on title tag. But when I search "Blue Fountain Media" on Google, it only showed their company name. How? Their title tag was "Website Design Company & Digital Marketing Agency in NYC | BFM". Is it necessary to use H1? Because as you can see on my company website Coriate there's no H1.

Using a more relevant brand title for blog
I'm a newbee here so I appologize in advance for asking a question that might already be aswered ( i looked I promise). The question is this, I've been fiddling with the title tags and came upon the need to make a decision about separating our blog brand to be more specific to it's content. We're a moving company, our primary website talks about services and is branded with our name (%page_name% | 2 Brothers Moving & Delivery Portland Oregon), our blog is a work in progress "Moving Guide" (%post_title% | Portland Moving Guide). Should I stick with the standard brand name on the blog or call it something keyword specific like above? As a side question what do you all think about my titles in the first place? In case you'd like to take a look: www.2brothersmoving.net www.2brothersmoving.net/blog

How to handle Meta Tags on Pagination... page 2,3,4....
Seems that SEOMoz reports are considering my paginated pages as duplicate Meta Tags. For example, I have a product catalog with 5 paginated pages. Obviously the content on each page is unique and the URL ends in =4, =5 for the page number, but the Title and Description are the same for all the pages. Any suggestions on how to handle this? The pages other than page 1 are not indexed, so it should not be a big deal. But wondering if I should programatically ad the page number to the additional pages to show a difference?
