Urgent input needed on huge drop in Google
-
As of today we got huge drops in SERP across all our pages. We can see a drop between 10 to 80% on most of our pages on this domain:
Some background info:
- Never bought any links
- Yes, did optimize the site, but only in fair way, using SEO moz On-Page Optimization. Most pages get an A-grade
- No cloaking, all pages do look exactly same to visitors and Google
Any input on what this could be?
We are hugely grateful for any input that might lead us in the correct direction
Have a nice day
Fredrik

Not sure why it gets downloaded. Should be a perfectly normal .txt file.
I doubled checked in Google Webmaster tool and from the it says the robots.txt file can be read.
Any idea how to remove the download?
-
Something is going on with your robots.txt - when trying to visit the file, it automatically prompts me to download the file and doesn't actually display it. Was it always like this or is this a recent change?
I would recommend making sure your robots.txt file is crawlable and readable by the search engines before looking to see if there any other issues on the site.

Darn, those links has not been built with my companies knowledge. Two quick questions:
1. Is there any way to remove them from Googles index in such away that even if they link to us they do not affect us?
2. If Google has lost trust in the domain due to these weird backlinks or any other factor, should I not be able to see that in a dropping pagerank or page authority?
Thanks for the good input

And you have few .pl links
-
hi
first, I can't speak Swedish/Danish, so will be a general help approach!
you might need to check the links coming from low Domain Authority's.Especially those with the .pl
that looks to me more like spam linking domains then anything else.
Panda hasn't hit you without a reason, so the sooner you find that/those reason/s the sooner you can react to establish the Engines to give you the trust back.
Good Luck and do not forget, that the best SEO approach is the long term:-)

Its hard to know for sure without spending considerable time looking at the background.
If you havent already id advise looking at your Google Webmaster Tools (if you have it set up) for issues and errors and also your SEOMOZ campaign (if you have it set up) for issues and errors. Very often these can give you big clues.
Also - did you change anything major on the site recently e.g. content management system, robots text file etc?
Are you getting your content from elsewhere i.e are your posts sourced from other sites?

Fred Google Update & Ecommerce Sites
Hi I've seen a couple areas of our site drop in average rankings for some areas since the 'Fred' update. We don't have ads on our site, but I'm wondering if it's 'thin' content - http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/ We are an ecommerce site and we have some content on our category pages - which is a bit more generic about the section/products within that section - but how can it not be if it's a category page with products on? I am working on adding topic based content/user guides etc to be more helpful for customers, but I'd love some advice on generating traffic to category pages. Is it better to rank these other topic/user guide pages instead of the category page & then hope the customer clicks through to products? Advice welcome 🙂

Sudden Drop in Organic Traffic through Image Search
We've have been facing a strange issue with our Organic Image Search Traffic since July month, 10th July 2016 to be precise. There is a significant decline in our Organic Image Search Traffic that we can see in our Google Search Console Account, We have noticed a sudden drop (Almost 80%-90%) in our daily clicks through image search in Google Search Console, Does anyone here have any idea why this has happened suddenly though everything is same as it was before and we haven't done any changes in image names and images path. Nursery franchise UAE Page 1
Nursery franchise UK Nowhere to be found! The page in question (well a section of the site) has been optimised for UK, however, as they do have a sister site in the UAE, it mentions those areas too. The pages I have been working on are now ranking reasonably well to say there is a long way to go, but for long tailed keywords NOT including anything to do with the UK. There are no naughty backlinks with the anchor text to do with the UK, the server is hosted in the UK, it is a .co.uk URL (no geotagging but I would like to know if this is of any use with this type of URL, everything says no, but it cant harm can it?) - is it possible Google due to bad practices in the past have slapped a penalty on the specific keyword area? Not something I have come across previously but I am scratching my head over here! Time for a brew break 😄 Thanks in advance guys! Leanne1 -
New Google Update In The Past Two Days???
Was there a new Google update in the past couple of days. Traffic on my test site has gone from ~ 1,000 per day to over 4,000 per day for no particular reason. Most of the traffic is still coming from Google and is not the result of any new major links. My keyword rankings also appear to be the same ...

Google visits falling at the expense of Bing
Has anyone else noticed their percentage of search visits from Google slipping in the last few weeks at the expense of Bing? We've seen a 4% swing in the last month. Obviously Google is still the dominant presence (acconuting for 88.4% of all organic visits to our site kenwoodtravel.co.uk) but still it would be interesting to know if this is just a blip or more of a trend?

Google.uk rankings plummet, .com improves. What to do?
Hey Guys, Seems so much has changed with international SEO I'm not sure what to do with our site. We have a huge site with many country level landing pages that perform very well on google.com searches (IE; keyword + Jamaica) etc. We are not using a .co.uk version of our site and now our rankings have plummeted in the UK. Should we just make a .co.uk with similar (or the exact same content) or is there some newer strategy to follow?
