Should I follow a key competitor onto business.com?
-
A key competitor of mine has just purchased a link on business.com, my question is should I follow them in? We’re close in terms of Domain Authority and little things can make the difference in our case.
Also does the farmer update (which is yet to hit the UK) influenced your answer? As we’re yet to see the effect of this update should I exercise caution?

I agree, they are a very strong directory that I'm sure Google respects. At 300/yr you may want to consider a few different directory options.
How is the Yahoo directory category compared to the business.com one? Less links on page? Higher mozRank? You might also consider Best of the Web and then a few other smaller (but trusted directories) that maybe your competitor isn't listed in. You could also look for quality niche directories. If you could get 3-4 strong links that your competitor lacks compared to one very strong link that your competitor has you may be in good shape. Some of the other directories may offer lifetime links too, to get the most bang for your buck.
Cheers,
Vinnie

I think business.com directory links are valuable. Check the mozRank of the page that your link would be on and make your decision based on that.

No follow external links
Hi all, Our blog utilizes a fair amount of guest blog articles. Each article includes a link to the authors site. Some memebers of our team believe it is best practice to no follow all of these links while others believe we should follow the links, Our page rank and domain authority are almost always much higher then the guest blogger's site so we want to know the pros and cons of nofollow vs follow of these links. Since the domain authority and page rank of guest blog sites are low will this have a negative effect on our site? They aren't spammy and are legitimate sites covering similar content. Any feedback would be greaty appreciated!

Are followed links from these high authority domains any good?
Hi Mozzers, I have a link building question, in 2 parts. I am in the UK. We have a large local directory network over here which involves some high authority national news domains. Basically, you get a citation for free but if you go "featured" as well as the benefit of being returned top for keyword searches in the directories, buried under a tab on your page are deep links to your website, and they are followed. What are the risks/benefits of this? Are followed links from other high authority domains like Visual.ly and Behance worth it? They are easy to get and I've always believed an easy link usually isn't a good link. Thanks in advance!

Is there a difference between .com backlinks and .co.uk?
(We are a UK based business) I am currently looking for sites for guest posting opportunities and I am not sure whether I should prioritize .co.uk sites or go for .com sites. Does it matter? Is more weight given to .co.uk sites if you are based in the UK?

Dripable.com and dripfeed.com. I really see no value whatsoever in any service like this. If anyone has an opinion that differs from mine. Go ahead.
I cant believe people are still using services like this. The interesting thing is that they do seem to offer great customer service, but that "service" seems to only spin comment spam and back profile backlinks. Id love for our community to discuss more sites like this so that Junior SEO's or people just starting dong get wooed by the promise of AWESOME links. Cheers,

Is backlinkbuild.com considered against Google policy?
I guess it IS buying links, but I have read many reviews saying they are ok (Which might just be part of thier network of sites :)) It seems like cheating, but they say they do the leg work, that it's not just automatic junk links. Any experience with them? Thank you!
