Millions of links from one domain - unnatural?
-
I have a question:
One of the sites that I work for has 3.1 million site-wide links (according to WM Tools) from one domain pointing to us. This domain has a Domain Authority of 93.
We have (according to OSE) more than 3, 500 Domains linking to us. We have a Domain Authority of 88.
In other words, one of those 3,500 domains is highly reputable, and is sending us 3.1 million site-wide links.
This represents 60% of all the links pointing to us (again according to WMTools). Is this something to be worried about? Or delighted about? Would you consider it an unnatural link profile?

On the balance of your answers it sounds like a positive thing. The site is highly reputable and even though on a another c-domain (which is a great thing) is a 'friend' of ours.
I guess the quantity of links is safe.

i think this not can be consider spam just for the numbers, you need to think in a few thinks when you concern with punishiment:
-
1st of all, are that link coming from Spamming sites?
-
Think in a person navigating in a site with alot of links for you, they will fill unconforteble (i'm sorry, a don't find the correct word) about this link?
-
You build this links whith ranking proposal?
The google aways (or not) think about user, if you have alot of links coming from a partner or a client is natural and you having nothing to be concern.
Good Luck, and send some of those links for me

Depends on your site. In isolation it's probably nothing to be worried about.
If all of your links are coming from sitewide's then I'd be concerned.
But if it's a none spammy site with a legitimate reason for linking to you then I wouldn't lose any sleep over it at all.
In fact I'd say it's a big win.

Post-Penguin it's supposed to be a bit of a concern. On the other hand, we have 12,900 links from a single site, yet we have moved to the #1 position as a result of Penguin and a lot of white hat SEO, of course. I know 12,900 is nowhere near 3.1 million, but the site that links to ours is nowhere near a DA of 93 so I guess you could say it balances out?

Back link from site with DA of 72 to a website domain. Clicking on the link redirects to our website not the attended one.
Hi,
Link Building | | JIMBO16
I've ran a back link check and discovered a good back link to a site which then gets redirected back to my company's website. I have a feeling that an old SEO agency has purchased a small website which has a decent link back from a relevant organisation with a high Domain authority and then redirects the domain to our website to get the link juice. What are your thought on this? Is this really bad practise and possibly damaging? Thanks, Jim0 -
Relaunching a site that has had thousands of posts linking to the same 20 articles. How to properly setup internal linking?
I'm in the process of relaunching a music news site (www.prefixmag.com) that once did quite well in search (over a million monthly search visits in its prime). The site got crushed by Panda, etc. and we stopped updating it. I'm starting to do more research but one thing that I noticed was we have modules in the right rail (desktop) that are found on all of our article pages that point to the same posts. (Edit: Added attachment. The links in the right rail under Editor Picks, Features, News, Media, etc. are found on every page of the site). In other words, we have thousands of posts that all link to the same 20 or so articles. Should we not do this if we're not trying to emphasize these posts in Google? Assuming this is the case, what is the proper way to do internal linking? Do we simply setup a sitemap and link to it? I'm hoping to have the thousands of articles we've published over the years have a chance to rank in search again. Also, we have a number of posts that are thin in content should those pages not be submitted in the sitemap? Thanks in advance! 2KmX0

Self linking
There are 10 links on page that point to this page where they exist (link to the page itself). Does it influence on ranking?

Are links with space considered to be the same as links with %20?
I wonder if Google would consider those three links to be the same? http://www.example.com/test page.html http://www.example.com/test page.html http://www.example.com/test+page.html

Deep Links From Same Domain
I know that it is best to diversify your inbound link profile, but I would like to know the best practices for a domain as a whole as opposed to the domains component pages. If I have a good link source (say for example Squidoo) that can provide links to a website's home page AND a few of its lower tier pages, are all these links of more or less equal value (for seo purposes) to each of the link targets, or does Google simply use a "one source domain, one counted link" approach? Thanks Bill

Link building from keyword domains
Hi all, I am currently working on link building to our site http://www.betxpert.com which has a number of keywords I am targeting. I have become aware that domains with the keywords are available. We (in Danish) target the phrase "ekpert tips" and the domain www.eksperttips.dk is available. Would it be a good thing for us, to register this domain and do one of the following things: a) DNS forward traffic to our main site b) Build a small blog with minor content and linking to the main site with text links with the tekst "ekspert tips"? c) Simply do nothing, save the money and spend it otherwise... Hope someone can give me a sound advice. Best regards, Rasmus

Google notice of unnatural links - no penalty
my site just received this warning on 3/18. I haven't seen any rankings drop or anything... i don't know why i got this as i really don't build links in a frowned upon way. Anyone know if you get penalized for this, and if so, how long after you get the message does the penalty kick in, and what is the penalty.... Also, if i gave you guys my domain name do you think you'd be able to tell which links would cause this message? thanks
