Searching for BEST e-Commerce Multilanguage Platform, Need Advice
-
I have 2 online store in Canada. Both are selling
One bilingual (English&french) Filtration Montreal
and a unilinguale store Furnace Filters Canada
Both are offering the same products at the same price for Canadian. We work hard to rank on Google.ca because we only sell and ship to Canada.
The platform of Filtration Montreal is very basic and limited. For example, the url structure make it very hard to rank on Google.ca
This platform is very not SEO friendly with url like:
The only good thing about this platform, is the multilingual option. The customer can shop in french or English.
I would like to move that store to a new platform where I can create a multilingual online store. Do you have sugestions?
Furnace Filters Canada is on BigCommerce. I find it SEO friendly. Using SEOmoz tools and new to SEO, high competitive keywords like: furnace filters, furnace filter are ranking on 3rd rank in Google.ca fist page!
This site is getting more & more visitors every months. The only frustrating thing is the English only version of the stores to customers.
QUESTIONS:
-
What will be the SEO impact if I'm moving Furnace Filters Canada to a new platform?
-
Do you have suggestions in finding the perfect multilanguage e-Commerce platform?
Andrew Bleakley suggest Ashop. Anybody using Ashop?
How about a eCommerce platform that can manage my 2 stores at the same time.
REMEMBER, we sell and ship to Canada only.
Thank you for your help and support.

Changing Platforms & HTTPS Same Time
Hi Everyone, We know this is a bad idea. Our owner purchased another website/company and we plan on moving it to Shopify. The site is a very old (not been updated in 4 years) Able Commerce site. My developer whom has been doing this for years with me couldn't get the current host to work with us in order to move the site to https. Looks like we would actually have to spend a lot of money to update the site in order to. So my question is this. If we move the site over to Shopify, they make it https right away. I am out of luck trying to redirect http pages to specific https pages? Jeff

Google Indexing Multi-Store Best Practice
Hi Guys, We currently have a main store view and a uk store view setup with a Litespeed Redirect for our website, redirecting UK IP Customers to the UK Store. We recently noticed that we were running into some issues with Google indexing pages from the uk site as well as the main store view. With trying to avoid duplicate content, my question being: What is the best practice for google indexing the UK and Main store views? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When Site:Domain Search Run on Google, SSL Error Appears on One URL, Will this Harm Ranking
Greetings MOZ Community: When a site:domain search is run on Google, a very strange URL appears in the search results. The URL is http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com:2082/ The page displays a "the site's security certificate is not trusted." This only appears for one URL out of 400. Could this indicate a wider problem with the server's configuration? Is this something that needs to be corrected, and if so how? Our ranking has dropped a lot in the last few months. Thanks,

E-commerce customer registration fields during account sign up
I work for an online print company and recently we were considering adding a field titled "industry" so that we could figure out what industry our customers are coming from. Has anyone seen anything either in favor or against adding this field during the customers account registration process. We understand that less is best however feel that it is important to better serve our customers. Any information on this subject would be very useful.

Need help in website URL Structure
I have been working on a brand new website currently it is live but I have disallow Googlebots temporarily as I dint want any negative impact. The business of the site is to generate leads , they install and sell Stairlifts and used Stairlifts. There are two main categories New Stairlifts and Reconditioned Stairlifts Currently the URL for new Stairlifts is : http://willowstairlifts.co.uk/stairlifts/ and for Reconditioned Stairlifts is: http://willowstairlifts.co.uk/reconditioned-stairlifts/ My concerns are that the word Stairlifts is mentioned twice in the urls so is it going to have a negative impact or panda penalty? I am thinking of changing them to http://willowstairlifts.co.uk/new/ and the product pages to display as http://willowstairlifts.co.uk/new/brooks/ Currently its http://willowstairlifts.co.uk/stairlifts/brooks/ Same with reconditioned Stairlifts I like to change it to : http://willowstairlifts.co.uk/reconditioned Also its product pages to http://willowstairlifts.co.uk/reconditioned/brooks/ As currently its http://willowstairlifts.co.uk/reconditioned-stairlifts/brooks/ Thanks

Best hosting solution for linkbait videos
I'm creating a series of link bait videos. I want people to link to the pages on my site hosting the videos. What's the best site to host them on, if my primary concern is to get do-followed links? I'm worried about putting them on YouTube, as I imagine most of the links will be to the page on youtube.com, or worse, just directly embedded.
