How can I gain links by creating infographics and/or memes?

It seems that both infographics and memes seem to be popular methods of creating good quality links at the moment, but how can you actually gain links by using these? When people share the graphics they will need to put an extra link in back to you and obviously most will be via social media so will not be worth that much to Google? Do I need to email these out to blogs etc?

Hi One and All! We're launching a new site which provides listings for businesses, and being that it's very early in the process and we're building up our presence we're offering our services for free for now. In return though we would like to request that our clients exchange the free service we're providing for things which will help our SEO to develop faster. A client wants to include social media icons in their footer. Instead of linking to facebook, Google+, etc they would like to link to a page with social feeds from their networks. Are there any SEO implications to doing this?

Shortcut Link and Referral domain in Google Analytics

Hello, One of my clients has a Facebook page for his company, and his social media manager posts some promotional and educational posts on daily basis. the social media manager uses affiliate ID's in the destination URL to track traffic and leads that come from the social media and to make it look nicer he uses shortcut links service - bitly. Now I have a few questions about this: I don't see traffic comes from bit.ly or bitly.com in Google Analytics, my question: is using 301 redirect makes Google Analytics understand that the last website which sent the traffic to my website is not the actual Referral website? Is using shortcut links in the social media damages the links value (even though they are <nofollow>links - but still considered as signals from social media</nofollow> Thanks. LorS1nd.jpg

How can I find the most liked, tweeted, and +1'd URLs on a domain?

As part of a content audit, I'd like to identify the most popular content on a domain. I've tried Google Spreadsheets + API's from the services, but the call limits have stopped me as I can only check 50 URLs at a time. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this? I can get the list of all pages on the site with Screaming Frog, but then how do I find metrics on those URLs? Any tips or tools would be appreciated!

Opinions/advice on Blog posts please

I'm an intern at an Accounts Software Company. I'm doing SEO for them. As part of this I've recently started blogging. I'm doing this in an effort to increase traffic to the blog, and try to shift content focus away from Startup Methodology and increase focus on the product..I've had some success with it, in terms of increased Domain Authority and keyword ranking. At the same time, Keyword ranking can suddenly drop for some keywords, closely related to the ones I'm trying to rank for. The further difficulty is, that nobody wants to read about Accounting subjects. I've tried to make my posts as interesting and as valuable as possible.I'm still having trouble gauging whether I'm going about things the right way.Please take a look at some of the posts I've done. Contests for link builing?

I had read a great blog post somewhere a couple weeks ago that had some great tips and resources on how to best run a contest (like on FB) and get good links. Had mentioned specific tools and techniques to use. Unfortunately I can not for the life of me remember where I saw this at. Did anyone happen to read this and have the link the post by chance?
