How do I secure guest posts?
-
How exactly can you go about getting a guest post on someone else's blog if you don't know them and don't have a budget to offer them anything substantial?
-
Hi Harry,
There are various ways in which you can try to secure guest posts on sites within your niche. To start off, there a few tools out there that will help you find opportunities (sites that are looking for articles). My Blog Guest (http://myblogguest.com/) is probably the best at the moment but Guestr (http://guestr.com) and blogger linkup (http://www.bloggerlinkup.com/) are also great. You can also use this twitter tool to help source opportunities.
Alternatives to the above include searching Google for sites that accept guest posts (look for 'write for us' and similar pages) and simply connecting with a site that you really want to write for (sending an email, asking on Twitter etc) If you're going to do this, make sure you get across the fact that you are genuinely interested in writing for them and not just wanting a link (as this will get you nowhere). It's also a good idea to include a couple of article ideas and examples of any previous posts in your intial approach to a site.
Hope this helps!

Paid Guest Post Links - Value?
Hey guys, Just wanted to put the question out there about guest blogging opportunities that are paid for. It's not something we ever go for but a client has the resources to get a few quality paid backlinks. What are people's general thoughts on guest blogging - for a nominal fee - to do so? Pros and cons of the whole process? Cheers!

What's a good way to find recent blog posts about a given topic?
Let's say I want to find blog posts posted in the past week or so about "key west". These posts could be on a personal blog, travel blog, etc. Google News is mostly news sites (not blogs) and Google blog search doesn't work any more. What other good options are there? So far Open site Explorer Just Discovered is the best option I've found, but there is a lot of other stuff mixed in with a few blog posts.

Advice on how to handle Guest Blogging between multiple brands
How to you manage your guest blogging efforts between companies. I blog for 4 different companies, and just started….I am confused if I should blog as myself, or should each company have an "author" set up, and then guest blog under each author? I want their website to get better rankings, and the brand to get more engagement. I am not concerned about myself and my authorship rating….but should I be? Would that be more beneficial to have all blogs tied to me, to help with engagement. Or am I shooting myself in the foot by not increasing my authorship. What's more important? Authorship or blogging about the relevant content from the author that makes the most sense? Just looking for tips from anyone that has to blog under different brands. How do you do it?!?! (also, looking into myguestblog plugin)

Rel="noindex in a guest post
I'm guest posting on some sites and one of them placed my back link as follows: mysite.com I'm not sure what he's trying to achieve with the help of rel="noindex"? The first that jumps into my mind is that Google will index the post but skip my backlink. So, there's no sense in such a bakclink, ringht?

Rel = Canonical in Blog Posting
Hello, I'm getting a lot of Seomoz warnings about rel=canonical issues. Is the code below ok to put on our (drupal website) blog? link rel="canonical" href="http://www.example.com/blog/my-awesome-blog-post"< (with the > reversed). Thanks!

Related posts Wordpress plugin
Hi, I was wondering what Wordpress plugin you are using to add related posts to your blog posts. I would need one that allows you to pick the related posts manually and doesn't break the on-page SEO. Thank you! George

Simple question: How many words optimal for blog posts
Hello, We're adding a blog to one of our sites. How many words should be in a blog post for it to be optimal for the search engines? If it varies from industry to industry, please give a couple of examples. We were going to do 500 words but that seems a bit long. Thanks!
